  1. We're live in 15 minutes with our E3 special, featuring Randy from Elder-Geek. Tune in live and chat here!
  2. First things first: We're live tonight from 7-9PM Eastern doing our E3 super special! Joining us is Randy Yasenchak, supreme editor of independent video game news site Elder-Geek.com. We'll discuss the Wii U, the Vita, and anything else you guys want us to discuss. Next: NEW FACEBOOK PAGE! I've gotten with the damn times and replaced the crappy old 'group' with a 'fan page'. Check it out! If you're a cool person, you'll 'like' the page and be entered to win my last signed copy of Mega Ran's FF7 Black Materia! See! It's the first day for the facebook page and I already have stuff to give away. More will come, along with exclusive tracks. Anyway, I'd appreciate it if you'd join us tonight for the show. As always, you can listen and chat at 8BitX.com. Hope to see you there!
  3. We're about to go live! Tune in and chat at the usual place. This week our guest is Ryu Black, talking about his fantastic Street Fighter tribute album (all original beats, great performances, and clever skits make it a winner!).
  4. Ryu Black of Manafest Vision will join us this week to discuss his Street Fighter inspired tribute album "Perfect." It's a solid album that combines great production with solid performances and clever, engaging sketches. "Perfect" takes the storylines from Street Fighter and crafts something entirely new with original beats and lots of love from an entire cast of SF fans. Listen to the interview live at 7PM EST, Wednesday the 25th. Learn more about the interview and Ryu Black's "Perfect" here.
  5. Yo, we're live right now with music from Zubareus, Ben Briggs (aka chthonic), "Raskulls", and more! It's a pretty sweet episode, so tune in here.
  6. w00t! Thanks guys. I'll take a look at these and get some selections into the rotation. Anybody else care to contribute their music to the cause?
  7. Hey guys, 8BitX has started a 24/7 video game music stream in addition to hosting some awesome gaming radio shows. We're all about helping talented artists get their music out there, and we'd be happy to add your music to our rotation! Hit me up here on OCRemix or email me (radiofreegamer_at_gmail_dot_com) if you want us to check out your music. Thanks guys!
  8. All of you know what day it is. We're playing "trippy" game music tonight to celebrate, so feel free to join us from 7-9PM EST for the fun.
  9. I've been looking for the game, but I haven't been able to find it I may just have to give in and buy it used from Amazon or Ebay...
  10. Hey all. Gamestop is putting their used PS2 games on fire sale this week, buy 2 get 2 free (the code is B2G2PSS if it doesn't register automatically, haven't tried to check out yet). I know used games sales can be a hot button issue among gamers, but the fact of the matter is that shortly, aside from Craigslist and specialty dealers, we will no longer see the vast majority of the PS2 library for retail sale. It's kind of a sad day, but I feel like this is a prime opportunity to pick up some titles I've missed over the past 11 years. SO, how about some suggestions for those of us eager to capitalize on the sale? I won't make this specific to what I might want, since I'm sure other people will be interested in the sale as well. Anything you'd recommend for the PS2 before it disappears?
  11. We're live in thirty minutes! Join us here, as we stream music from the new OCR project, Mark Morgan's Fallout remasters, and more! We may also have a special prize for fans of Mega Ran...
  12. I'm going to join in the trend of shameless self-promotion. We have several podcasts at the 8BitX Internet Radio Network, and shortly we will also be streaming VGM 24/7. Here are the podcasts for the shows on the network: Radio Free Gamer - The latest in free VGM with lots of artist interviews 8Bit Extravaganza - Crazy, fun show based around classic games WNES - A radio-style show about chiptunes and VGM
  13. We go live in just a minute! Tune in here.
  14. Tonight on RFG Josh Whelchel joins us to discuss Songs for the Cure '11, a collection of video game remixes and original music benefiting the American Cancer Society. Not only is it a good cause, but a donation of $5 will net you an MP3 album with music from the likes of Jake "virt" Kauffman, djpretzel, AnoSou, Danny Baranowsky, and more. Check it the official SftC home page here. Anyway, Josh and I will hop on the air at 7PM Eastern, so be sure to tune in on time. You can listen and chat right here. Hope to see you tonight!
  15. I have to say the album is fantastic, as was SftC '10. Virt's track is so damn hot my earbuds are reduced to molten slag. I couldn't listen to the lineup from both albums without being stricken by how much these guys have developed artistically and technically. If you can spare the change (for a good cause!), SftC '11 will blow you away. Blatant plug, but Josh and I are going to discuss SftC '11 on tonight's episode of Radio Free Gamer. The interview will air live at 7PM Eastern, and you can tune in and chat in our IRC here. If you have any questions or comments about the album, I'm sure Josh would be happy to field them. There will also be Gunstar Heroes, and that alone is reason to listen.
  16. Gearing up for the show and live interview with Kunal 'ktriton' Majmudar! Be sure to hit up the chat, we go live in 15 minutes.
  17. On this week's RFG I have OCRemix's ktriton, Kunal Majmudar. We'll discuss his work on "Missile Master", the latest game OST to be hosted on OCR, as well as any other projects you guys are interested in. Maybe even a postmortem on the "Heroes and Villains" project Be sure to tune in right at 7PM EDT (GMT -4) for the interview! You can listen and chat here. If you can't make it live, then hit up the podcast.
  18. Hey everybody. The staff at Elder-Geek.com is teaming up with Mercy Corps to hold a charity marathon benefiting victims of the crisis in Japan. The E-G staffers will stream gameplay from their favorite Japanese-developed games from Friday at 5PM EDT until Sunday at 6PM EDT. You can tune in, chat, and donate here. Our goal is $1500, and I definitely think we can make it. Donations to Mercy Corps are %100 tax deductible, and any contributions are appreciated. We'll also have some prizes to give away, including Songs for the Cure '09 and '10 download codes, as well as other CD's and swag. We'll also have some special guests joining us via Skype (I'll update this once all the details are sorted out). All of us at E-G would appreciate it if you're able to attend. If you can't, we'd be grateful if you plugged some of the following links for us: Marathon Home Page Facebook Event Reddit Entry Thanks!
  19. We go live in 15 minutes. Tonights is all requests, so get them in at our chat!
  20. Yo! We're live in 10 minutes with music from The Missingno. Tracks, as well as some more great (and free) video game music. I also have an about.me page if you want to check that out (the site is super convenient, especially if you have tons of projects and social media sites to link to).
  21. Tonight's RFG is going retro! We have some excellent original compositions in that glorious, Genesis FM style, along with some Mega Man mixes and the Tetris Attack OST! We'd love it if you'd join us tonight, from 7-9PM EST at http://8bitx.com/ircchat. Will Strouse will be on from 9-11PM with the 8Bit Extravaganza as well, so don't forget to check him out. Also, if you missed last week's episode (the interview with Jeron and Eric from Zelda Reorchestrated, along with a full length preview track from Twilight Symphony), then download the episode here!
  22. Eric and Jeron from Zelda Reorchestrated will join us this week to discuss their latest project: Twilight Symphony. Hit up the chat room and stream at 7PM Eastern to listen live and ask your questions.
  23. Hey guys! I found one or two albums that I'd like to feature on the show, but it wasn't really enough to assemble an entire playlist. I'm going to save those albums for next week, and tonight I'll run whatever you guys want to hear! We'll be live tonight from 7-9PM EST (GMT-5) at http://8bitx.com/ircchat if you want to listen. If you can't make it live but still have a track you'd like featured on the show, then leave it here. Hope to see some of you guys tonight!
