  1. Well, I finally took the time to learn and download soundfonts, so I am now able to make the mix more like how I originally planned it, and not being forced to turn it into some techno/ambient type mix because of FL studio's limitations. Listen: http://media.putfile.com/Metroid-Remix
  2. So is he like...not working on this anymore? Shame it had potential.
  3. Perhaps you could get a quality audio interface. I've seen them for around $80 at Sam Ash. Shouldn't be hard to get the money. EDIT: I like your drum samples, but the beat needs to be redone IMO.
  4. Since I'm going for a more ambient style for this mix, I slowed down the tempo. It diddn't sound very good, it was way too boring. Oh, and good news for you, I guess. I'm taking your advice for a low-pitched pad. Working on chords for it right now.
  5. Well, I was in Fruity Loops changing things around alittle. I changed some of the pad lead around, so it sounds sorta sad IMO. I also changed the main lead instrument to a cool little string pluck/pad fusion I found in my sample library. I'm also redoing the entire drum track, but I might just leave it out in the end. Oh, and I copied the bass track, exept I transposed this one an octave higher, then panned it alittle to the left. The other bass track that plays the original lower octave I had is panned to the right. This sound any better or worse? Should I have left it the way it was? http://media.putfile.com/Kraid-improved
  6. Sorry about the double post, but I got an updated version here, I think I'm going to submit this one. http://media.putfile.com/Kraid-OC-Remix
  7. Yeah, I think I'm going to change it to a piano sound.
  8. Well, this is a peice I've had done for months now, but I never really thought of it as OC quality. Meh, whatever, what do you guys think? http://media.putfile.com/Kraid-OC-Remix-Demo
  9. Very nice, I like direction this is going. I remember I would play the game just to hear that song. Keep going dude.
  10. I've been working on a little chord loop with a guitar playing staccato D minor and C chords. I'm still working on a Clarinet lead over that, and I have a possible ending. Also, as a side note, a few guitar notes and a clarinet note at the end got cut off when I exported the mp3...so ignore that. So yah, how's it coming along? http://media.putfile.com/Still-not-done-53
  11. Wow...this is amazing. I really feel the emotion when I listen to this. I mean, it's not everyday I get tears in my eyes when listening to a game remix.
  12. Yeah, I'm thinking about brining the clarinet down an octave to give it some more bass. What do you think?
  13. I've been working for a while now on my first OC Remix (most of the time was spent deciding what song to remix). The song is "The Maw" from Halo: Combat Evolved. It's not nearly close to being finished, but this should give people an idea on how it will sound. Comments or suggestions? Oh and don't bother telling me to fix the Clarinet, because I'm already on it. http://media.putfile.com/Captain-Keyes-Last-Stand-OC-Remix-Demo-NOT-FINISHED
  14. Umm..Jazzware is free and open scource, but it uses standard MIDI sounds.
