Hey thanks both of you for the feedback so far! They did perform it live, but I didn't get a good recording of it and there were still more mistakes than I would've been happy with putting as a proper remix. Duly noted. In theory though, some amount of looping more or less has to happen. For example, in my piece the vibraphone plays much of the same thing, with a couple variations, the whole time. If I get your implication right, though, you're referring more to the blatant copy and paste mechanic than looping something while changing something else. Right?

Here's the first of two video game arrangements I did for my indoor drumline a few years ago. I needed it to be easy enough for high school students to play, so that's one of the reasons it's only about a minute and half long. This one ended up sounding pretty decent after adjusting the attack/decay and environment settings, compared to the other one I just posted. But it feels too short. So a few years back I arranged a couple video game tunes for indoor drumline. I was kinda rushed for time when writing this one, so instead of continuing forever through even more key changes and stuff that the original track actually does, I just did a loop and made a quick ending. It worked enough for me and the group I was instructing, but I'm still not sure about it, but it's been years since I worked on it so there's that. Also, I did try adding general effects to make the instruments sound better, but in this case, it totally messed with all the dynamics and I wasn't able to figure out a way to make it the way I would've liked it. So I think I like this version more. I'm not gonna lie, I was briefly addicted to Rogue Legacy. Not only is it extremely accessible to jump in and play but it also gets very challenging, especially when going for the special bosses. Oh and the soundtrack is highly memorable and instantly nostalgic. They have the soundtrack on bandcamp. Anyway, I have no specific genre requests; I'd request someone try any track they feel up to tackle. I haven't seen any on the site yet at all. Though, my suggestions would be A Shell in the Pit - Trilobyte (Castle), Tettix - Rogue Legacy (Main Theme), or Tettix - Broadside of the Broadsword (Dungeon).

I just decided to pay the measly $0.50 and buy the album from the bandcamp link. I've been severely impressed by Theophany lately, and the mirrors weren't working.

Yesss!!! I haven't even listened to it yet, but I love this source track so much. And upon listening, I am in a state of constant chills. Thanks DrumUltimA, I've tended to be a fan of your stuff, and this is certainly a fantastic rendition of such a haunting beautiful piece. p.s. Did you post a video of you improvising on this on youtube a while back?

I finally figured out what the quicker part in the middle (around 2:50-3:14) reminds me of: some of the soundtrack by Kawai Kenji to the anime Fate/stay Night. The melody is rather similar sounding, though it's been so long since I've played megaman--I don't remember most of the themes; so, it could just be that the composers wrote similar material. Either way, it is just so catchy (especially those 32nd notes on the piano) and is definitely one of my favorites.

The thing that most made me download this song was sometime within the past year or two. I was driving in my car, listening to the local college radio station, and this song came on. I actually called in to make sure that I wasn't just hearing things. Sure enough, they told me it was Blue Lightning from ocremix. When I got home I immediately downloaded it. </story> Anyway. Great song.
