  1. Contrary to KogeJoe, I thought this was a very fun and challenging game. I remember playing it when I was little and never being able to beat the 4th? level, i think it was. I'm not sure, but it's the one that you think is impossible. If you've ever beaten that game, you know there's no better feeling. I've always liked the music, but I figured no one would ever even THINK of remixing it. I constantly listen to this mix when i need a little pick-me-up.

  2. O man, you took my advice and put that synth in V1 in the intro and it worked out like a charm. I love where this is going. If you keep this up, you'll definitely get it passed. I'd say it's still cluttered in some places. I really notice that in the 2:20 range, it seemed pretty cluttered. This will definitely be on my fav list when its finished.

  3. Awesome job. I didn't notice much of anything that was iffy and I enjoyed the overall feel of it. I'm with Roz on this one though. the into also caught me of guard and made me think that this was gonna be a longer song than it was, so I was surprised again when they ending came along. Very good start though, can't see to much more that needs to be changed.

  4. Having never heard that song before, I'm not sure what the appeal is. I listen to electronica all the time and pretty sure thats not a popular song. However, the 8-bit idea was pretty good. You WIP definitely needs some work because it sounds to much like a midi right now. Just becasue you want to replace sounds with 8-bit noises doesn't mean that the majority of the song has to be 8-bit. Try adding in some more real samples and boost up the volume for the melodies you want people to hear. I noticed that you did have some good samples in there but they were to few and far between. I personally love retro games more than most newer games, so this is very appealing to me. I'm interested to see where this goes. O, and this is a Dance track, not Trance.

  5. OK. I'm officially obsessed with this song. I can't get enough of it. I seriously listened to it about 30 times today. This has got to be so close to passing the judges that I cant believe it hasn't yet. The absolutely _only_ thing that may need to be worked on is the alarm sound, it sounds kinda weird. But still.... I think I'm in love.

  6. Man Ecco the Dolphin was the shit back in the day. This mix has some great potential. I throughly enjoy the synths that start at about :32. Maybe its just me, but I think there has to be some sort of percussion in there. I think in the lull at 2:52 would be a great place to add in some percussion. Also, theres a new synth thats only in the last couple seconds that I really like. You should put that in the song somewhere else too. I'd have to say this isn't ready for OCR but I'm still gonna put it on my iPod.

And you know what, this seems to sound really close to mixing Golden Axe and Ecco together. Would have never thought it could happen, but you should think on it.

  7. I think this is the right place to post.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone out there who gets Devil May Cry 4 today, would be willing to post up some of their impressions. I haven't really played DMC since the first one and when I got the demo on Live, I was impressed. I didn't like 2 or 3 but I did like the demo for 4. I wanna know how it is before I decide to drop 60 bones.

  8. VERY strange. I would suggest you use different instruments on your keyboard or just use the keyboard to sequence the song and then import samples later in a program. Also, I would add some effects too. I listen to techno A LOT, and this beat is catchy and has a lot of potential, but I wouldn't listen to this yet.

  9. Overall, its pretty good. You have the right idea but the beginning sounds a little weird to me. Also, the bass needs something more, more umph or something because they sound a little flat right now. I've never played the games but I like the melodies and stuff in this song a lot. The melodies definitely sound spot on and you shouldn't have to do too much more to them.

O by the way, this mix isn't exactly trance its more like dance/club or hard trance at the very least.

  10. Thanks Rozovian. I knew it wasn't personalized enough for OCR but I just though of putting up my general idea first and then getting some feedback like yours. And actually I now that I'm looking for the file, i'm not even sure if I have my original stuff so i may have to start over. But thats not really much of a problem seeing as I wasn't really anywhere anyways. Thanks for the advice. You should check out my original song in the other WIP thread.

  11. This is a trance song I'm currently working on that uses a quote from the movie Big Trouble in Little China (BTLC). The movie was pretty much considered a flop but i still like it. The intro quote is Kurt Russel's last line in the movie. I thought it fit pretty good. let me know what you think because I'm stuck and don't know where to go.

  12. alright, i've had this WIP for at least 2 years now and i never put it up here because i thought it sounded too much like the midi. You probably will too but this is generally what I want it to sound like. I want to stretch it out and maybe even add in key parts of other songs from the game but let me know what you think.
