I'll do some thoughts on the Residual Toxicity song you posted 2nd on here.
I like the piano intro, its fitting and sounds decent. Maybe some very slight reverb just to give it some slight more depth. That might only really be necessary for the intro. Also, the sort of breakdown part where its just the piano and bass playing, maybe consider putting a single kick beat every 4 steps to held hold the beat. Not that its getting outta beat, but that long without drums just seems weird. Also, maybe increase the bass kick's low EQ and volume just a little to help bring it out more.
Other than those couple small gripes on my part, its a great track. Sounds like it should be in a japanese anime or something along those lines.

Here's a quick update. I didn't change the intro solo, just brought its levels down so it blends better into the background. Everything else mentioned i touched up or fixed.

Holy crap! i don't know why i haven't noticed or listened to this one yet.
Very well done my friend. Production is very tight and all the instruments are just the right ones. I like that little drum breakdown just past the half way point. I can't find a damn thing to complain about. Definitely better than my dark world remix, lol. That solo at the end of the track is fricken badass. Do you play keyboard, or is that done through your DAW? Either way, its awesome man.
I can't think of anything more to say than sub it man!

The intro is refreshing, and the harp that comes in from 0:07 makes it even better. Actually, that part reminds me a lot of Okami for some reason.
The guitar from 0:25 co-habit strangely with the piano. Instruments seems to be stepping on each onther toes here.
Can't pinpoint exactly if it comes from dissonant harmonies, chorus or dissident tone.
I'm gonna go and say that the galloping thing may be a reference to cowboys on their horses disappearing on the horizon with the sunset, thus Final Sunset?
A fitting piece to wrap up, say ...an album for exemple.
Yeah, keeping in mind what you said about the intro and listening to it again i can hear waht your saying. I think i need a slower intro solo to keeps pace with the instruments. I also hear what your saying about the section change ups. I'm gonna add a cymbal roll or something of the sort to help bring it back in nicely. I've got the kick roll, but i don't think it stands out enough.
As for the name, i think your interpretation of it is pretty close. I always felt it had that kinda feel to it also. Almost like an ending credits theme.
ALSO, as for it being a perfect piece to wrap a album, i think you maybe right about that!
This one won't be on that album though, probably the next one. I think its a great start to it though. Check your PM for the album info. -

The newer stuff is better produced and mixed than the older stuff. I've been practicing that.

If you need help coming up with a name though, let me know. Making music isn't my specialty, but I can be quite clever/creative when it comes to names if given enough time.I wouldn't mind some help coming up with a name for this remix. I can usually come up with something catchy, but not this time. Also, i wasn't intending on subbing this. I just needed some feedback cause its for a friend of mine who likes my music/remixes.
Alright. I fixed a lot of the problems Gario pointed out. Mainly the overall muddy mixing i did originally. I got lazy and just didn't EQ a lot of things as well properly separate tracks.
I fixed the crashes. They're quieter and less frequent. I also fixed all the leads volumes so they stand out more.

True. However, that didn't stop Hamauzu from scoring games with it either.
But, yeah, even some big name libraries have some rather cheap sounding instruments that anyone would be pissed off having paid one thousand quid for.
True dat. I know i would. I'm still kinda looking around for good orchestra/choir samples and vst's....one day.

This is basically finished, but i wanna see what you guys think. I did it for a friend so i wasn't really intending on subbing it. I'm sure i'm gonna hear something about this, but i've never actually played Chrono Trigger before. I know its an awesome game, and this theme definitely has that RPG sound to it. I'm pretty sure its just called the Chrono Trigger Theme. I kinda want to do other themes from this game, it has an awesome soundtrack. Also, i'm not sure what to call this one.
I hope i did it some justice.

I like the title too, haha. Its very appropriate.
I can't wait to hear the finished project. Its gonna be wicked sweet yo. Also, i'm up for adding guitars for anyone that's wants any sort of guitars in their mix.

I know this is kinda random, but Mixcraft 5 lets you view the virtual instrument tracks as sheet music instead of just a piano roll. Its only good for midi instruments though.

I'm doing a song for neblix's Metroid Prime Project Album but he asked me to change my lead guitar. As I'm not a guitarist, I was looking for someone to do it. May I PM you more infos about that ?
I did a song for that project. The Hive Totem theme. Mine, of course, is all guitar oriented and very much metal my friend.

Ya know, i was wondering the same myself. I love the game and the kickin' soundtrack it comes with. I've done a bunch of metal remixes and wouldn't mind giving it a shot.

This is a very nice start to the remix. I can hear the source, but you've definitely took it and transformed it into the 80s style you mentioned. Everything so far seems decent. Volumes, EQ's, and soundscape are all very good. My only suggestion, maybe its cause i'm a metal guy, it to bring the kick drum out a little more. Other than that, can't wait to hear it with guitars.

I've never used Logic, but i have used FL Studio. FL, for me at least, took some time to really get into it, but that's probably true for any DAW you want to use. I use Mixcraft 5. Up until version 5, you couldn't import/export midi files, but now you can and it makes it SOOO much to edit/remix midi files. I find Mixcraft 5 very easy to use and its not too expensive. Its $75 for the program and you get a ton of free downloadable loops and effects. Either way, FL or Mixcraft 5 would be good choices.

I almost forgot about this WIP. It takes that almost surreal sound of the source and doubles it. Its very entrancing, but only 1:24 long! Hopefully you'll get around to finishing it

I uploaded the track to ocrwip so you can see the time now. If you could let me know where those issues you pointed out are at in the timeline i can absolutely go back and see what changes i can make. I understand, i think, what you mean by the parts where the double harmony is just a fifth note variation and nothing more. Also, i'll have the song just end instead of fading out like that. I'm usually not too good with endings, lol.

Gario, dude, i can't believe i missed this!! Chiptune badassery FTW!
I love the overall sound of this remix. Your chiptune work along with that drum beat is very nice. I can't find anything to really complain about, and i know your not planning on subbing this, but its still very note worthy.
I can't for the life of me write chiptunes. I suppose if i spent more time in FL i could. Although the DAW i use, Mixcraft, just came out with version 5 and it can now import and export MIDI files. So maybe now i'll have an easier time with it if i try again.
BTW, I checked out your Phoenix Wright remix over on remix:thasauce and its pretty awesome as well. You electronic remixers have a knack for that kind of remix. I've tried, but no luck, lol.

I haven't played this game in so long. For its time, i thought the graphics were really nice. Very bright and eye catching. The music was another great thing about the game. I think you really did this source good. The quality is also really nice considered it all live instruments. Its very well mastered and is very pleasing to the ear. I agree with everyone that it needs to be subbed. Especially since djpretzel is telling you!
As for titles, how about Flowing Winds?
I should go back and replay this game now!
