BTW....digging that insane metal track. I was laughing from it's awesomeness.
LOL, nice!
I'm glad some people are enjoying it! I love writing just insanely metal and epic tracks like this, lol.
I actually haven't had it long enough to really get that in depth with it. It does make sense, and i kinda new about drum production already, that each part of the drum kit needs its own track. That way you can get more in depth with the mixing cause not every part of the drum kit will need/use the same exact compression and EQing.
BTW, i checked that track you wrote and i like it. You can hear how the drums sound and i like that too. I'll have spend more time on the drums like i mentioned above.

I think all you have to do is go in and edit the first post. It'll show the drop-down box for WIP/Finished/Mod Review.
HA! i knew it was something pretty simple, lol. Thanks man.
-
Alright. I did a little more cleaning up and i think its pretty decent now.
Let me know if there's anything else in need of change.
ALSO, i'm really not sure how to change the status of the thread to is says Mod Review. I'm sure its somewhat easy, but i can't figure it out. thanks
I forgot a link to the source as well: Legend Of Zelda NES Underworld (Dungeon)

Hi, i wrote this track called Always Wrong and i'm looking for someone who can provide some vocals for it. I don't have any lyrics written so i'm more than open to lyric suggestions. I can write something for it if the willing person doesn't want to write lyrics.
Here's the song:
Here's another sort of power/prog metal track called Through Darkness i wrote that could use some vocals as well:
Just send me a PM if you are interested.

oh jesus. I had a whole thing written up for you, and when I went to click submit I accidentally hit a navigation button on my mouse, and now it's gone. FUCK ME SIDEWAYS.
I'm glad you enjoyed and i've had that happen to me before also. I HATE when i do that. Or when you type a whole message out and click post and the f***ing connection times out, lol.
Anyways. I didn't even realize that the kick was overcompressed. I'll fix that in the next update. Also, its funny cause the strings at least are East West Play samples and are the closest to authentic that i could get, lol. I'll try another choir vst i have and see if that helps also. I'll post an update later or tomorrow probably.
Thanks guys, Joe

I'm using a free trial of Acoustica's MixCraft 5, but I think I'll need something else.
I use Mixcraft 5, but usually my stuff comes out, well, good. Sorry man, i really think your just messing with us here. Your DKC3 remix was exactly like this.
If not man, then i apologize cause your probably trying to work on your writing/mixing skills. Try using the SNAP function of the program. Its the drop box towards the top in the middle of the program screen. That'll help line things up for you. That same SNAP function also applies for when your editing/writing the virtual instruments.
Good luck man.
PS clicking on that banner of yours just brings you to where the image file is. It doesn't bring you to any music or site otherwise.

Please tell me that this was intentional off time? lol if so, lol.

Yes sir! This does make me think A LOT of Deus Ex, and that's a great thing. The production is tight and it never really gets old. It flows very well and i think the instrument choices are spot on.
I really enjoyed listening to this and can't wait to hear more from you.
-
Yeah, dude! I actually just heard your song that you had posted in the workshop, I think I commented on your DFH. I'll let you claim Victory.
Thank you for that btw,
I've already got ideas and can't wait to get started on this. I usually work very steadily so i'll probably already have a WIP for ya in a couple days.

Alright, so i fixed some more things. First is replaced and sort of extended the section just after the orchestration and before the guitars come in to be more suspenseful. Your welcome Dj Mokram .
Also i tweaked the choirs a bit, especially in the beginning. Then i did a little more tweaking of the track as a whole. I tried bringing the orchestration and leads out more from the rest of the track. I added some slight reverb to the drums to make them not so dry. I think it may still need a bit more. ALSO, i cut the part in half the plays at :45 so its not so long now. Then i added a solo over the last part of the song and switched up the instruments slightly that play that last part also.
-
Alright, i wrote this song after Total Disaster, but i still need to work on the drums more. The arrangement is mostly finished. Although i'm thinking of adding a lead of some kind to the "verse" section. I say that cause its the part where its just the fast drums and guitars playing the 16th notes.
I think some kind of keyboard/synth solo would be cool but i think i wanna do a collab for that cause after a while my keyboard solos all sound the same,

First of all, damn you for getting this song stuck in my AGAIN after getting it out only a little bit ago, lol.
Nah, i like this remix. I'm a HUGE metal fan but some reason i can't get her songs outta my head. Guess its one of those singers you can't still playing. Anyways, i have to admit that the part right at 3:00 and afterwards with the repeating vocal sound byte. I understand its part of the remix thing and the genre also, but maybe its a bit too much? Might just be me. All in all though man its solid. Very well produced and an interesting take on the track.
Looking forward to hearing more from you man!

DFH has a very... err... distinct sound. I'm a big fan of Devin Townsend and his Ziltoid album which used DFH for the whole thing. I guess it is an acquired taste but I think it's pretty cool.
I understand that and i like the Devin mention. Devin rules!
Anyways, i love the way it sounds, but mostly cause these drums mix much better for metal than my previous drums. Check the originals thead cause like i mentioned i saved OVER my damn project file for this song, lol. I've got another song i wrote after this one that's very similar in style. I'm hoping to get more feedback, especially on the drums cause that's always very important in metal.

Hey Brandon, i sent you a PM requesting the victory fanfare.
For examples of my work, click my NintenJoe banner below in my sig. It'll take you to my reverbnation page with my original album on there. Definitely check out Dead and Empty Silence.

Ya know, of course i had to go and save over my project file for this track. I have all the sound files though. Oh well, the song is kinda done for now. I'm gonna post another song i wrote similar in style to this one tomorrow cause i wanna get the drums down better.
Thanks guys.

Me likes!
Why thank you! I'm hoping you'll ike this update.
We take the same source and we start over!Yeah, while i like my original version and a lot of people feel the same way, i just thought it could be better.
Well this version is close to the length i want it, but i need to still work some things out. About the drums, i'll mess around with it for my next update. Its late here and i already had this mixed down from earlier. I kept the same dark, metal sort of vibe as the first part of the track. I really am hoping to sub this, although we'll about that. I made some basic changes to the production of the track as well as make it longer. I tried making the orchestration, especially in the beginning more vibrant and prominent. As for the ending, i'm not really sure how to end it yet, so it just kinda ends, lol. I'll work on that too for my next update. I also kinda made a quick quiet spot before the guitars come in, let me know if i should make it longer? Also i switched up the drum track after the :45 part. I meant to switch it up more, but i'll do that tomorrow.
Let me know what you guys think?

The one thing I really hate about EZdrummer is the DFH expansion...
Yeah, i know, and i appreciate Snappleman commenting on my track. Although i sense its cause you DON'T like DFH, lol. But that's ok.
I was just happy to use something that didn't take up as much room in the mix as my older drums did. I hear what your saying and even though i have the "human" button clicked, i need to mess around a little bit with the velocities. On my next update i'll try and fix that.
I'm glad at least the production is really getting there. I'll post an update of this track soon.

Here's my metal version of the dungeon theme from Legend of Zelda from the NES. I know its been done a FEW times before, but i'm hoping my version gives a fresh look at it. Its only 1:31 long right now cause i'm really not sure where to with it from here, but i'm hoping you guys have a suggestion. I think i've got the orchestration pretty well separated and the guitars pretty well mixed in. I did a version a couple years ago of this theme, but i really like the theme and wanted to take a better stab at it.
Thanks guys.

Nice track NintenJoe, but its a bit too overloaded for an soundtrack I think..
Thank you. Its more of an example of what i can do. Although i'm trying to expand my repertoire to other genres.
-
First of all, that song is fantastic and sounds likes its right outta Final fantasy.
I wrote something to the tune of a Final fantasy theme. Its much more of an SNES Final fantasy sounding tune, but i think you'll get the idea.
and here's a good example of an orchestrated track i wrote:
or just check my reverbnation page for more of my music to get an idea of what i can do.
I just love writing music for projects. Let me know what ya think and if i could be able to help you out?
-
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The drums are new. I was using a different program before and they didn't sound too hot for metal. These are soooooo much better, lol. I really love this remix. Eventually i'm gonna do the smithy part 2 battle as well. Or any other theme from this game that you think would sound good as a metal remix.
-
I wouldn't mind being a part of this. A metal Zelda album would be really cool and i think it has a lot of potential. I can collab but don't have enough time for anymore than that.

Heavy metal track needs vocals

Absolutely! I already had someone say they'll do Always Wrong, but i'm more than up for hearing your version of it!
Again, let me hear what ya got! Everyone has a slightly different style and up for hearing different versions!
