Contact Info - Aczti - Remy Gibson - aweberman@yahoo.com - <no relevant website> - <no userid on forum> ReMix Info - Mega Man X - Armored Armadillo - title of remix: Impenetrable - From the first time I heard this song in the game, I loved it. To me, it always sounded like it should be played with horns, so that's the primary emphasis of this remix. Of course, the tools of today are better equipped to produce this sound than the SNES was. - As another note: I read over the guidelines for submission and spent an hour looking for a program that would make the ID3v2 tags, but was unable to find one. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. - Also: I had to squeeze space on my webhost to fit this file in, so I don't intend to leave it up forever. Once you copy it to your site (if you choose to do so) I'll likely take it down. - And yes, the accent marks (acutes) are part of the name. Remy Gibson

Soundclick only let me stream, not download, for this. What a click, indeed... - djp DJP- So... yes this is a remix of a sports game. The menus had pretty good music though... but it was on SNES, so I decided to give it an overhaul. I've gotten alot of mixed feedback from the WIP forums... people either liked it or hated it... no one was really on the fence... so I hope enough of you are in favor of this one to let it pass... if not, I'll try again later. The remix itself is called "Play it, Kid!" and it is downloadable from my soundclick account Thanks for your time! -Digital Alchemy

OCR01257 - *YES* Kirby's Dream Land 'Chopinesque Kirby'
djpretzel posted a topic in Judges Decisions
Yo djp, This is a piano solo remix I put together, solely because I had recently heard "The Trial in Concert" and was determined to do a piano remix in one take. Well, if I could have held my attention span long enough to write it AND practice it, that would have happened. Unfortunately, I have no attetion span, so I improvise these things out and then have to be done with them in a hurry. I still played the whole thing though, so I'm a genius like MC (who is really?). It's got.... birdcussion! - djp Contact Info ReMixer name: Shoe Real Name: Li White E-mail: alcyone_t@yahoo.com ReMix Info Game: Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Song Title: "Walk in Crystal Forest" Original Song Title: "Forest" System: Nintendo 64 Composer: Jun Ishikawa & Hirokazu Ando Comments: This is my first "real" remix, I suppose, since other songs I have covered were done out of boredom and I've not finished any before now. Lack of decent sound samples had me recording most of the samples from my own synth (i.e. piano, music box). Though I'm none too happy with the sound of the birds, and I'm a little nervous as to what the judges will have to say about this since I didn't realize until after I had 1) finished the song and 2) thoroughly browsed the remixes that there is also another song in the database that has a similar intro. However, I'll allow the judges to do their dirty work and even if my remix doesn't make it onto OCR, I guess I won't let that hurt my feelings. Just kidding. Comments and criticism is very well appreciated; anything and everything that you have to say about this will definitely be taken into consideration if I decide to redo this piece. Also, I'm a little concerned with how loud the song came out and since I'm not exactly savvy with these editing programs, if this gets accepted, would it be all right if someone either made it a little quieter or maybe told me how to do that with Adobe Audition? Thanks for your time.

Keefer chris.keefer@3web.net Remix Info Zelda: A Link To The Past Sanctuary Composed entirely of live performances (via Yamaha keyboard) by a single artist - namely, me. Probably a no-brainer, but thought I'd send it your way regardless. Quite good. - djp Heya, It's been just over a year since my last submission and since then I've received numerous e-mails from those wanting to hear the sequels. Why I never submitted them isn't because ocremix has a limit on the file size, but because I like to write long, drawn-out pieces, and it just so happens that those sequels were too big to submit here. I'm not complaining since it was my decision to keep going with them. This arrangement I'm linking to is not part 5 of the suite, but the Finale nevertheless. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to continue with the suite. It contains several themes from FF7, but what people will instantly recognize in the first half is the music from Weapon's attack on Junon. Could I be the one for you? Longing and yearning I just wish you'd understand I want to see you I want to touch you Is there any way to hold you? Watching and Waiting For ways to make you believe That I need you And I'm sorry Is there any way to hold you again? Wishing and wanting an answer to the question at hand Can I see you? Can I touch you? I just want to hold you How can I show you In ways that you'd understand That I need you And I'm sorry I just want to hold you again The whole musical score for Lufia is awesome. Lufia was actually the first rpg I actually played and enjoyed. I played Final Fantasy on the NES, but lets face it, it wasn't that good, and when the SNES came out I saw the cover on the box of Lufia and thought it looked cool so I rented it and tried it and fell in love. It was like a year later that I found Final Fantasy 2(4) for SNES, and I still like the Lufia series better than a good amount of the FF series. They need to make more Lufia games.. Anyways, I did all the music and singing vocals, Destiny did the female vocals in the last part of the intro. Hope you like it. I completely forgot to send the URL for my submission To Hold You Again. Sorry for the trouble.

Hey DJP and crew, I got a request from someone to do a remix of the 5th One Must Fall track (Menu theme), so I decided to give it a shot.(It's been a while, huh?) Luckily it's style is close to our own favorite style (pretty much acid or trance/techno), so it wasn't very hard to remix a fantastic track as the original. We really like the way it turned out, but that's up to you guys to decide! For the record, we (the two dudes at previously named (Section III Studios)) changed our name into Digital Element (Shortened for mixes as 'Digi-E'). It just sounds alot cooler. ;D Here's the track info + link. Track Name: Echoes of a Spotlight. Game Track: One Must Fall 2097 - Menu Theme. Track Link: I'm thinking, if the quality of this song is up to OCR standards once more, I might start remixing the entire OMF track, seeing there's alot of love for the One Must Fall series from us over here. ;D But we'll see in due time. For now, enjoy the track! I don't know if you guys will like the hectic ending in the song, but over in Holland it's pretty cool. But if it bothers you, we can always trim it down and re-submit. Can't wait to hear from you! - the Digital Element team.

"Laughs" I enjoy this mix be cause I use a variety of insterments. Most are commenly used. But the Handbells, this is a unique one. Produce a resinet sound that can send chills up your spine with the right chord. My most favorite part of the song is where the transistions between themes occur and I go into 3/4. Here I use both themes to creat a wicked combo. This right here was my main reason for writing this ReMix. A transistion and combo of two remixs, it was if it was ment to be. Anyways I hope you enjoy my mix. Heres the link. P.S. It'a the only song that can be downloaded in the Music section.

Gets much more interpretive as it goes, as advertised. Cuts off kind of abruptly. In my mind, however, a good example of how one might going about doing a solo acoustic guitar ReMix... -djp Contact Info: Artist Name: Dash Period Real name: Christopher Hui Email address: huicj@usc.edu ReMix Info: Game Remixed: Chrono Trigger Song Remixed: At the Bottom of the Night Comments on Mix: Actually I didn’t really record this song with the intention of submitting it to OC Remix, however I’m a supporter and fan of video game music and remixing (ESPECIALLY with live instruments). I felt that this song was screaming to be covered a la classical guitar style. Thus I did. This recording was done using a mic’d Ibanez acoustic steel string and mastered/edited using Logic. I tried to stay close to the original at the start because I felt that the feel of the original score adapted to a solo guitar was quite nice, however I tried to take more liberties as the song progressed – I have to say that recording the first portion was the HARDEST to get a clean take of. The technical aspect of trying to play a song with a piano-feel on the guitar was a bit difficult for me, but I think it came together pretty well in the end. The last minute or so of the song, I wanted to switch drastically from classical to something in extreme contrast. So I went with a sort of acoustic-reggae jazz feel, the solo is improvised and actually a first-take (which may explain some of the mistakes that may be noticeable) however I felt that even with mistakes it worked well and ended up giving the overall sound a sort of raw quality. Anyhoo, I hope I did the song justice, yay for OC. Love, peace, and chicken grease.

My second attempt at Mega Man breakbeat, and quite different from my first. This mix was inspired initially by the work of Disco Dan and McVaffe, and though it isn't much of an emulation, I would hope that the discriminating videogame remix snob would be able to recognize a few allusions to the aforementioned artists characteristic styles. Or not. Either way, it's got better samples than anything else I've released to the community and it's damn funky. Also, Hardman looks like my groin. Thanks for listening. Heya folks! It must seem as if I set myself the goal to produce a "Megaman V Lullaby Album" or something *lol* but I really don't plan those things! The mix goes its way... Actually I didn't know the tune of Wily's castle in Megaman V, I just read some posts on "Good Night Li'l Man" and Valeran suggested to mix Wily's tune - "that would rock us all". So I listened to the Megaman V Wily Castle for an half an hour and after some more hours of remixing I realized that it was much more a Tango than a Rock song, which I desperately wanted to work. You can't push some things Sometimes I really regret that I don't play a Viola or a Violin... the digital counterparts just doesn't transport the emotions as well as I want them to. Especially in this song. I post mixes rather sparsely but it's not because I don't have any. I'm just a manic perfectionist with no hope and only 5% of my works reach the state of "nearly done". You're never finished... BTW - Can anyone update my artist pic? It's rather old. I have a new one at http://www.freewebz.com/tube/texxpic.gif ! Thanx in advance! Well I hope you like the tune! Greetz! Philipp Strahl a.k.a. texx sound

Again I'm sorry for the ID tags, VGmix is the only place I have for hosting this. Remixer Name: NoWave Real Name: Stewart Griffin Email Address: nowavecollege@hotmail.com Game Remixed: Final Fantasy Adventure Name of Individual Song: Boss Battle A Comments: This mix was begun because I realised I was becoming out of the habit, I hadn't done much of anything since my last submission. I found this theme while randomly going through www.vgmusic.com and decided this will do. Now, some of the interesting technical aspects of the mix. This mix was made for nothing. The only element in it that cost anything was FLStudio. The rest of the substance here is freely available on the internet. The lead synth is one called "GalactiX" which I found on Kvr-Vst. The backing strings (which are effected so much they sound like brass) are squidfonts put through a effect to make them sound as though they were being played on a vinyl player from the thirty's and then flanged. The beat is a distorted, pitch shifted and cut up version of the "DrillNB" loop that comes with FLStudio. The voice is Steven Hawkings which has been pitch shifted down three octaves and delayed. He says the following. "I think everyone wants to know where we came from and how the universe began. Cosmos can help us find answers to these questions. Hopefully, when we understand how the universe began it will give us a clue as to why it began the way it did or even why it began at all." Enjoy!

Hi, Here's my first contribution to OCRemix -- a recording of Duck Tales' African Mines, with sampled drums, guitars and piano. Someone said it's too short, but I don't believe them before you say so. mp3 is at So here's... Contact info: My remixer name: Lie Mf B Real name: Henrik Lidbjörk Mail adress: henrik.lidbjork@home.se OCR forum ID number: can't find it... ReMix Info: Game remixed: Duck Tales (for NES) Song title: African Mines [let me know if the title needs to be more original] My comments: This song is part of my "Sex, Drugs n' Nintendo" CD that I recorded consisting of 14 classic NES songs. The aim has been to do NES songs with real instruments, with the slight exception of sampled drums and bass played on electric guitar. Most of my songs are very close to the originals in terms of arrangement, but instead more original in their instrument sounds. Using drums from old 60s and 70s rock and funk songs help give them an organic feel, and the electric guitars and acoustic piano are real -- just miked for recording. It's rough sometimes, not always tight, but fairly funky... This rarely remixed song, from the wonderfully rock 'n' rolling Duck Tales game has an improvised piano track along the lead guitar, and drums from Black Sabbath's "Behind the Wall of Sleep" from 1970. Hope you dig it! The rest of the CD is available at http://lidbjork.homelinux.org/nintendo Thanks in advance! Regards, Henrik
