  1. My name: The Music Guy (TMG (not to be confused with TMBG)) My remix's name: "Rock'tuary" Size: 2.7 mb Song time: 2:55-ish Bitrate: 128 Game: Zelda 3 (Link to the past) Composer: Koji Kondo Song remixed: The Sanctuary theme What I used: ModPlug Tracker (mostly), some sfx plugins, a little bit of FL studio and a bunch of samples I found wandering around the net. Sup Djp, This is my first "official" remix. At least, the first one that's worth submitting. Don't ask me where I got the idea of mixing synth Rock Guitar with choir aah's...all I remember is that I was sitting there scripting some PC game (which I've probably trashed by now) and suddenly I realized I was humming the sanctuary tune, and I had these guitars playing along side it in my head. I thought "what the...where did THAT come from? It's tight!" So I mixed it. Voila. Hope it's worthy, -TMG
  2. ReMix title: Devoid of Original Sin Game: Final Fantasy X Original Track: Original Sin, A Fleeting Dream ReMixer: _Raijin_ Real Name: Kris Davis Band Name: Sapphire Storms (www.mortaltragedy.tk) E-mail: raijin_spark@yahoo.co.uk Alt E-mail: dethraven2020@hotmail.com Ok, not a lot of heavy guitar in these remixes so here's a change of pace from all them orchestrated and acoustic pieces. This track was ReMixed from the Final Battle Theme of FFX - named Original Sin. first time I heard this track I went "yes, I HAVE to remix that" and started messin about with my guitar, killin my amp with some riff. The OST version is itself a mix of various tracks used in the game which I in turn have re-recorded and remixed on my own instruments, nothing taken directly from the OST. I sliced 'n' diced with the arrangement, added in some of A Fleeting Dream to the song aswell, works nicely, imo. The Battle Theme is one of my favourite recurring tracks of the FF series and playing it on the electric guitar it's one of the most fun tracks ever. Anyway, this track reflects my style of writing and it's the first ReMix I've tried my hand at properly. Hopefully the first of many more. Great work with the site, here's hoping its still around in the days when PS2 and X-box are for the retro gamers only. Cheers Kris

  4. Email sub file Luminaire.mp3 - pretty damn cool at parts, imo one of those mixes that make better use of breakbeats; mixed very loud, tho, so watch out - djp Your ReMixer name - ThunderChild Your email address - yesterdaygeneration1750@hotmail.com --- Name of game(s) ReMixed - Chrono Chross and Chrono Trigger Name of individual song(s) ReMixed - Chrono Chross - "Chronopolis" ; Chrono Trigger - "Crono's Theme" Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc. - For me, this mix has been a lot time consuming, most used for all the kinda' drum'n'bassy rythms. When I began, I wanted to remix the "Memories of Green" theme, but, I went another way. "Memories of Green" seemed to be a very known theme, so i began with Chronopolis (it's very similar but not the same thing). First of all, I did the introduction: Used rain and thunder effects (Sampled from Zelda : A link to the past) to make a cool atmosphere to introduce us the piano melody. Then a reversed crash enters us into the "remix" thing. For this, i wanted to do a piano drum and bass remix, but not doing the classic thing (ultrapowerfull bass with a fast and mechanic rythm) and with not being very complicated. I wanted to give the piece a "sophisticated look", even if the theme was only a single group of arpeggios. In fact, thats Yasunori's way to compose music. I wanted to make the piano the rhytmic-basis, and the electronic drums the melodic thing (hehe sounds strange, but that's it), so I changed a few things, like the speed or the rythm of the arpeggios. In 1:25 comes the variation. The same variations that Chronopolis had, but with a slightly changed rythm . I used a kinda' metallic sound that reminds me to a sound that Chronopolis theme used. But, the sound is original (i did it a few years ago). In 2:20 a kind of second variation begins. In 2:33 comes another variation, but this is completely original. In 2:45 starts the Crono's theme. It's a kind of different thing. We could call it as " The most evolved part of the variation" After it begins the main theme The last repetition of the main theme comes in with the "crono's Theme". It reminds me a little to memories of green. hehe. I used for this fruity loops 3 ( i have no keyboard, so I can't use my copy of reason (I don't like matrix pattern synthesizer)). Fruity's sounds aren't so good as reason sounds,so i had to sample almost all of them from many places. I had only used one sample of piano (bosendorfer C#4). The percussion sounds comes from a loop i found somewhere(I reeginered them by myself, samplig the kick, the hat,etc... to make them very drum'n'bassy 'a lo squarepusher' (you gotta hear "Port Rhombus")) I wish i had a decent samples but i found them in nowhere. So i had to use electronic instruments The song had to sound mechanical and expressive. It's something easy and complicated. Hehe. Listen loud. Hope you like it. ( I had to use my yahoo account because i couldn't submit a 5 megabytes file in hotmail)
  5. Email sub file Techno - The Prophet - FruityLoops - Dreams of Kid.mp3 - actually some cool stuff here, like the transition around 3'20"; not what you'd typically hear from Fruity, at any rate... - djp Yo - you've got a new remix coming in from a new guy. I'm basically illiterate when it comes to ID3v2 tags, so if there is a problem please gimme some info on how to fix it - i couldn't understnad your other page. Remixer name - The Prophet Real Name - Brad Burr (i'm the prophet of mephisto in the forums, and Asmodeus on ormgas) Email - jazzsax4ever@yahoo.com Website - none as of yet - its in the works. i'll have a link with this song soon enough Userid - 16318 Game Remixed - Chrono Chross Song Name - Radical Dreamers (i'm naming it 'Dreams of Kid') I remixed this just as a thing for a friend - then realized i could use it for this site. I was going to use 'Hellfire' from Soul Calibur 2 for my first submission, but oh well. Feel free to gun away, this was done on Fruityloops with almost no experience. thank for listening! 6. Pretty damn cool effects towards the end, competent playing, and (since it's a comparable concept) better pitch-sensitivity than Select Start's rendition... - djp I hope I filled out the ID tags on the mp3 right... if I didn't then my apologies. --Contact Info --Your ReMixer name: zoast.com will work, but you can cut it to Zoast if you want... I'll be attempting to for m a fairly good sized band (6-7 people maybe)(for vg music and originals) in a year, and I dunno what that will be called.. --Your real name: Thorne (, Marshall) --Your email address: mdthorne@centurytitleinc.com --Your website: www.zoast.com *include a link if you dont mind and i make it, of course --Your userid (number, not name) on our forums: Zoast --ReMix Info --Name of game(s) ReMixed: Metroid --Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Title, Norfair, Kraid, Intro Fanfare --Additional information about game if it has not yet been added to the site, including composer, system, etc. --Link to the original soundtrack if it is not one of the sound archives already available on the site --Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc.: I learned Norfair on acoustic, so I decided to do an acoustic (guitar) centered medley... really it's part of a planned trilogy of sorts. The instruments involved are 1-3 acoustic guitars (in drop D)(bass in Kraid: The bottom 3 strings are in drop , a Yamaha SK-30 Analog Stage Organ / PolySynth, Drums, Vocals, one Electric guitar clean, one heavily analog echoed electric in the first minute, and heavily echoed sounds of me tapping on the tip of the instrument cord and playing with the delay, also in the first minute.

  10. email sub file xenosaga_No_Pain.mp3 - djp Hi, this is a small ReMix of "Pain", one of the two Songs from Y.Mitsudas Soundtrack to Xenosaga Episode 1. I always liked the melody, although the lyrics are quite cheesy... "kindness is something I don't want or need.." - oh dear Anyways, here's a vocal-less version, with nice flute guitar synth bass sounds... all performed live by talented musicians... or maybe not... Just in case the Id-Tags didn't work: Songtitle "Xenosaga - No Pain" OV by Yasunori Mitsuda RMX by Have fun (or maybe not) Alexander Prievert .. ..
  11. Song Title: Janus' Dream DJ Alias: Toxic Soul Mix Location: I made this mix of Schala's, Zeal's and Magus' themes from CT (so I'm not sure which artists did which...), and I hope it works out well. Sort of an ambient song, I guess. Enjoy. Apologies for the continued use of tripod... uploading is not fun with that site. It keeps erasing all the ID3v2 tags I attach. 13. Here's remix of the Syreen Theme from Star Control 2. Remix style is Mark Veraish, 80s with some modern sounds (follows same steps as my Laser Squad remix). 15. Remixer: SirRus Game: Chrono Cross Name of Remix: Dreams of Another World Email: Ravi.U.Sharma-1@ou.edu The Song: I'm not going to drag on about mushy inspirations and too much detail about me and my song. But I am going to drag on about the inspiration I have found here at OCR. Submitting this song was mostly about having an audience with the judges, because honestly I have listened to the music of every remixer on the panel and have been amazed. You guys rock. I hope to hear criticism from the artists of my favorite OCR songs, and I would like to give mad props to DarkeSword for all his help with getting me started with remixing and putting up with crappy first drafts (I can't guarantee that he still won't find what I am submitting crap, but thanks man), The Wingless and Disco Dan for all the emotion that goes into their songs, Prot for kicking SO MUCH ass, GrayLightning for his help on the boards, and djpretzel for "Revival Day Impoetus." I think I'm confusing submitting a song to an online music community with the Oscars. Regardless, I had to say that, I'm done now, thanks for your time.
  16. Not half bad... - djp Hey DJP, judges, etc. This is a remix of "Black Omen" from the Chrono Trigger OST. It was made for the PRC 19 and won second place. Personally, I am not a big fan of Chrono Trigger (I like Cross more), but I had some fun in making this remix. The original had a creepy feel to it, so I figured I could mix those creepy elements with some quirky sounds to create this "unstable" mood for the song. From what I've heard , it seemed to work, although it didn't rub some people the right way. Oh, well. You can't win them all. Anyways, this was made in Fruity Loops using free soundfonts and it was encoded with Goldwave. Enjoy. By the way, there might be a glitch in the mp3... Just a tiny glitch in the song; For some reason it works fine normally, but every time i upload it to GCities, it glitches in the same damn spot. If so, use the VGMix link: I would have liked to have the right ID3 tags in it, because it pimps PRC, but it's ok. Thanks. ===== www.mythrilnazgul.com

  18. Well, my remixer name "would" be Tatan0x! and about me...my name's Sebastian Zavala and I'm from Chile my email is this one, i don't have an alternative. The song i remix here comes from the PC game Tyrian 2000 and the original called "Asteroid Dance Part 2" you can dl it from here http://usuarios.lycos.es/djtatan/Asteroid_Dance_Part_2.MID and the remix i made that's called "Dancing Achondrite" from here I made this song because it really rox up my ass...i was hearing Baltique after i heard the original midi and ended remixing the whole theme in what i was thinking (at first) was Baltique's style, but the result was a trancy-tecno piece. Oh and the original composers are Alexander Brandon and Andreas Molnar.

  20. Email sub file CT Remix.mp3 - djp Sorry I wasn't able to get this in earlier. Thanks for your help. Contact Info CTPhoenix Patrick Staples Phoenix12170@aol.com don't have a website. don't know if I have a userid. I am a member though. I don't sign in much. ReMix Info Chrono Trigger The Romance of Chrono Trigger I think everything that has to be said about the game has been said. You have the original Soundtrack. I started the song with the intention of submitting it into OCRemix. I worked to make the sound balanced. I am afraid that it may only sound good in my system. Just don't feed it too much bass. // It was written in Fruity Loops 3.0. Yeah, I'm a little behind. Plus, there are no effects. I don't know how to put them in. But I made up for it by making lots of patterns. There are more patterns used than measures. But I guess you don't care too much. // The song is a combination of the CT Main Theme and To Far Away Times. I think that the Main Theme starts soft enough to hurt, but accelerates into a nice groove. To shake the monotony, I added a string and piano part in the middle. I thought that was classy. When that theme has it's end, I move on to a dry beginning of TFAT, everntually accompanied by a soft kick, bongo drums, cymbal ride, and other stuff. I think it ends a little sooner then I wanted it to, but I guess you want to leave every song a little short to add to it's savor. Overall, the song has a kicking techno riff, and ends with a sweet, somber melody that is very important to me. I hope that it is good enough. I know that the main reason submissions are not accepted is the dry and monotonous sounds, so I tried to stop some of that. Hope it makes it. And if it doesn't, I'd like to know what I can do to make it better. // P.S. Sorry it's Techno and Sorry it's Chrono Trigger. I'm sure you are pulling your hair out. But there's one thing it's not: Schala!!!
