I've been looking around and the only differences i can find are the fact it comes boxed with a cd and startup manual. But it costs an extra 100 bucks, there must be some major difference? :S
EDIT: Oops nevermind, i thought the CD was just for installation. I never saw that it contains thousands of samples.
-
You sure you read that right?
There isn't really any other way to read it, that's the exact words of the text :S

I'm reading a book about computer music theory. It says, and i quote, "Generally levels of volume are measured in Decibels (dB), with 0dB being considered the quietest possible level of sound that the human ear can pick up". This statement has confused me because on the mixer in FL Studio it goes from -61dB to +2dB, and 0dB is in no way quiet. Can somebody tell me what's going on here?

Full FL 10 Legit. Neblix i'll add you on Facebook and MSN.
EDIT: Oops you don't have msn. I'll try and send it over facebook when you accept.

I left it for a good 10mins and nothing happened. Can anybody suggest anything? I'm losing my mind!
-
Is it freezing or are you clicking on it while it's loading and windows says not responding? Try waiting a little more, it does that for some of my projects.
According to task manager it's running even if i click on it, even though i can't interact with it at all. It's always freezing on Sytrus in the project i'm trying to load.
-
It actually won't open anything. Halfway through opening up any project it will freeze on a certain plugin or instrument eg Sytrus or Ride Cymbal. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it still does it. Any suggestions?

Far too cool

OK, and what does the mixer track for it look like?
I haven't assigned it to any inserts in the mixer

Can you take a screenshot of what panning control you are automating?

It's the Lean Pad. Cheers for the help.
EDIT: That's a good point Rozovian, i'll check that out

Laptop speakers - no pan automation.
Headphones - no pan automation.
Audio interface - pan automation.
I doubt it's a case of the program just ignoring the automation. Try panning normally, to see if it's really a matter of the pan automation not working, if panning at all works.
Someone that uses FL plz solve how or rule out that FL is causing this.
Yeah i tried moving the panning control manually and it didn't work either. It's not my laptop speakers i'm playing through, it's proper speakers. Surely it must be something to do with FL because the volume controls are fine.
-
Sounds like the headphones plug doesn't connect properly. The headphones output or the headphones plug might be broken, or maybe it's not inserted all the way.
No it's definetely not, it doesn't work if i play through speakers either.
-
My panning automations only seem to work when i have my audio interface plugged in. If i plug my headphones straight into my laptop then the automation doesn't play. My volume automations are fine, it's just panning. Why is this?

Audio is an AC signal (alternated current), its average value (not RMS) is essentially zero. DC offset means that your average value is higher or lower than zero, making it more likely to clip.
check if FL has an "elimate DC offset" in its settings or something.
Oh right you mean the decibels. Like on the main mixer you see numbers from -61 to +2? Am i right in saying this?
-
This sounds to me like a problem with either the recording input level or with the mix itself. You could have a dc offset in the recording (I've seen a 46% offset, it was hilarious and sad at the same time), or just lots of lows messing with your output levels. Does this only happen when you have recorded guitar in your tracks?
Yeah i find on playback i have to turn the audio tracks up to make it sound decent, but can't because of clipping. What's a dc offset? (Probably a stupid question)

Rozovian is right. we can better help you, if you're more specific on what exactly you'd like to do better than in FL.
I use SONAR X1 Producer. I'm pretty happy with its workflow, especially now with the smart tool. But it has some compatibility problems with some plugins, particularly some of Waves stuff. Man, I wish Pro Tools 9 had a demo version.
Well i find that my recorded tracks clip a lot when they're played back. My MIDI tracks can go a lot louder, but because i can't turn my recorded audio tracks up i have to turn the MIDI down and the whole piece just doesn't sound loud enough even though the monitor is telling me it's on the verge of clipping.
EDIT: The audio tracks don't clip when i record them. I assumed this problem is because i'm not very good at recording audio into DAWs, i doubt it's the programs fault
-
FL should be capable enough, tho checking out demos of other software is never a bad idea. What's the problem, what is it you can't do, or can't do conveniently?
Oh nothing, i was just wondering that's all.
EDIT: I know FL is used more for creating dance and electronica, so i thought maybe it's not made to give the best recording options or quality
-
I've been recording my guitar into Fruityloops but i was wondering if any other DAWs do it better. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

This is AWESOME!

Fantastic remix! Had such an overall epic sound. I wish i had the skills to do a remix like this, but for "In Amber Clad". Love that tune.
-
that appears to have solved it. Cheers.

This never happened when i used FL9. When i try to move something on the playlist it seems to keep duplicating itself :S Like i'll try and move an audio clip by dragging it a few milliseconds forward/backward. Then i'll drag it again and it'll reveal a duplicated clip that's it's been sitting on top of. What the hell lol. Have i turned something on i wasn't supposed to or is this actually a glitch?

I've got my guitar plugged into my preamp and it has a control on it that lets you control how much sound i want to hear from my preamp and how much i want to hear from my computer. Thing is the guitar is coming in a few ms late on the computer. How can stop this happening? I thought preamps were meant to stop latency.
EDIT: For some reason the sound that the computer producing isn't as loud as the sound on my preamp. Why is this?

Here Neblix http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OIXKZRA9
That'll give you an idea of what my guitar's sounding like through FL. That's me trying to put a guitar part of Lady Gaga's song Born This Way, shitey and full of mistakes lol. I was fiddling about with volume and panning controls for ages and i couldn't seem to get the levels right. It probably doesn't help that i couldn't control seperate tracks of the Gaga song itself because i just dragged the mp3 into FL.
Which VGM was the first that really made you listen?

Man this is a tough one. I think the first game soundtrack i actually loved was Metropolis Zone from Sonic 2. I was 3 or 4 years old at the time and was terrible at the game. I managed to get to Metropolis once and then tried my hardest to get to it again because i loved the music so much, but i just couldn't do it. I came back to the game 10 years later when i fixed my Megadrive and managed to reach it no sweat. It filled me with so many emotions because all i had were faint memories of the tune. I've now listened to it too many times though haha
The game soundtracks that really inspired me to create music would definitely be from the Donkey Kong Country series, Soul Reaver, Jazz Jackrabbit and F-Zero GX.
