  1. Basically, the other day i googled 'anti-syne' as you do, and the 4th result was this http://www.last.fm/music/Anti-Syne apparantly my last.fm profile.

Thing is i never use last.fm and have never uploaded tracks to it, yet it says i've got two tracks on there (two of my old remixes, one of which was uploaded to soundcloud and the other to tindeck).

Sorry to post a thread all about me, but can anyone who knows a bit more about last.fm explain why i have a profile and two tracks on there? I just don't get it

  2. well ocr rules state 'The music must have been composed specifically for the game. Movie themes such as Star Wars or licensed songs from games like Gran Turismo do not qualify.'

Having said that, i'm not sure if this track is actually from the film soundtrack, i don't remember it at any rate, so it may be ok to do.

I've never even thought about remixing aladdin music and i used to adore this game! I'm sure it's not too hard for someone to remix, it's probably not been done yet because, like me, people forget about the music from it (maybe?)

Oh and thanks to you i've just spent the last 20 minutes on youtube listening to all sorts of disney remixes...

  3. The second pass (where they showed the line) obviously was onside. The initial pass was almost definitely offside, even though Iniesta didn't receive the ball, he was in an advantageous position, so the call should have been made at that point.

But that's not how the rule works, you're only offside when you become active, and you only become active by receiving the ball or blocking another player, for the first pass he did netiher so he was never offside

  4. Right firstly i don't know how many people on here watch/have heard of top gear (if you haven't it's basically a very popular British entertainment program about cars).

There's a fairly brief moment toward the end of tonight's episode where i could swear they're using part of metal gear solid 3's main theme.

    The song used is here

    from 3:22 to 3:32

and it's used right here http://beta.bbc.co.uk/i/t3t7s/?t=58m51s (that link should take you to the exact moment of the show), or here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HJoRKAbuBA (8:02 in)

Anyone else agree? seems very odd for a mainstream BBC show to put in part of a video game soundtrack...

  5. Sorry, listened to this a while ago and was meant to reply but got side tracked.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it, orchersta sounded real enough for me, that being said i'm no expert on orcherstration and realism so hopefully someone with a better ear for that stuff can give you better feedback on that part.

I really liked the synth sounds, nice and simple, but they fit with the orchestra nicely.

My criticism comes with the arrangement, i like the first section, then the section section with the arpeggiated synth is a nice change, but then the last bit just combines the two sections together and it's a bit predictable. It would be nice to hear something a bit more unexpected.

Anyway, as i said i really enjoyed this, definately one to keep going with

  6. Oh what uni you at and what course are you doing? I've just finished my second year of Music Tech and Digital Media and Huddersfield Uni, and yes max/msp is a bastard piece of software, but doesnt it make you feel great when you get it to do even the simplest of things!?

I've just given you work a quick listen and they sound good to me, very experimental and unique. I'll be able to give them a better listen next week, so i'll try and give you more feedback then!

  7. This is... lol

It's wacky and insane... But I can't stop listening.

I can't exactly figure out what to say about this, except maybe everything is way too dry. Move things forward and back in the soundscape, with a little reverb and room size etc. adjustment maybe?

    Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback, I wanted to do something completely different to the orchestral style of the source, hence this daft punk style was born. I'm going to try and get the arrangement finished after the weekend, then i'll start mixing it, hopefully a bit of reverb will work wonders!
