  1. I know this came out forever ago, but I'd just like to give my thoughts on it.

    I love this album.

I really like almost every track, which is pretty rare for a 50+ track album covering a bunch of genres that I don't normally listen to.

The first few tracks make a fantastic album opener, and it manages to stay consistently good throughout. I love that there are so many different styles on this album, and yet all the tracks feel very similar!

Seeing as I'm not as familiar with FFIV's music as I am some of the other games in the series, I was kind of surprised that I liked it as much as I did, but man it really works!

That's one of the things that I like about OCRemix as a whole; most of my favorite remixes are from games that I haven't even played.

Anyway, I think everyone did an amazing job on this album, and I'd like to thank everyone who worked on it (even if it is a couple of years late) :P.

  2. And yeah, I don't think it's necessarily the reverb/echo itself that is sort of insulting to the ears so much as the velocity of the solo notes from that synth. Like, the ones that happen after everything else stops and it's literally JUST that synth; the echo is a bit loud and bothersome. I need to lower them farther, which I'll definitely do before submission.

Yeah that's basically what I meant...You describe it much better than me XD

  3. Nice!

0:57-1:02 really surprised me because I was so used to the old version XD.

Tbh, I think that part could do with a little less reverb, but we'll see what Emunator thinks.

I love the string part just after that btw!

Other than that, this version sounds siiick!

That sound effect at the beginning especially sounds a lot nicer now, and I like the marimba addition at 3:30.

Good luck for when you submit!

  4. Hello everyone,

I've changed the requirements for the opening and closing tracks because they were quite vague and nobody seemed to be particularly interested in them. If you check the tracklist you can see what I want instead.

Also...half the tracks are claimed! Hopefully we'll get a few more people interested, and we'll have a full lineup :)

By the way, seeing as the opening/ending theme is in Swedish, if there are any Swedish singers (female or male) who would be willing to collaborate with someone on that track, please let me know!

  5. One thing I keep noticing: You all keep criticizing Square-Enix in the "they". Do we actually have names for these people ruining your games or is it some sort of phantom composite of Japanese pointy-hair business suits that don't have names but are the icon for the company? I mean' date=' do we actually have an agreement for when Square-Enix supposedly started sucking?[/quote']

But...those two questions aren't the same at all :S

And there's no way for everyone to agree on a time when they "started sucking". Everyone is going to have different opinions.

  6. Huh. Y'know, for all the crap SquareEnix gets, I've noticed that some of my favorite games from recent years are from that company (either created or produced by them, anyway). Saga2 DS remake (with the fan translation, of course), TWEWY, DQIX... Perhaps their FF franchise isn't doing so hot right now (I haven't been in the console market for almost a decade so I can't say) but there are certainly some great games that they still produce. I suppose that's just me, though - to each his own, here.

I'm with you on that. I'm really not impressed with all of the ports/remakes they've been doing, but some of the more original games are quite good. Hell, I even liked FF12 even though most didn't. It definitely had a different feel, and the story/characters were terrible, but I thought the gameplay itself was really fun.
