Hey there,
That's good to know!
I might need some violin for a track or two in the future...I'll keep you in mind
-
I know this came out forever ago, but I'd just like to give my thoughts on it.
I love this album.
I really like almost every track, which is pretty rare for a 50+ track album covering a bunch of genres that I don't normally listen to.
The first few tracks make a fantastic album opener, and it manages to stay consistently good throughout. I love that there are so many different styles on this album, and yet all the tracks feel very similar!
Seeing as I'm not as familiar with FFIV's music as I am some of the other games in the series, I was kind of surprised that I liked it as much as I did, but man it really works!
That's one of the things that I like about OCRemix as a whole; most of my favorite remixes are from games that I haven't even played.
Anyway, I think everyone did an amazing job on this album, and I'd like to thank everyone who worked on it (even if it is a couple of years late) .

Happy Birthday! Thanks for running the site for all these years!

P.S. this song is great, you should make more like this
This song is great! I need to listen to the album more...
-
so, any plans for doing the item acquirement stance for the ring exchange?
hahahahaha you have to!
-
Nice, I love the theme song...this take on it is pretty cool!
This thread should be in originals though. Despite the name, it's really for any piece that's not VGM.
-
I've been enjoying this for a while now, but now that I go to burn it to CD, I find that it doesn't fit on one disk! Oh well, it's still a great album.
-
Amazing. I was a little confused when this came up on the NiGHTS album, because I had no idea a song like this would be on it, but man is it good! Both singers do an amazing job, and it is very well written, although I don't know the source.

And yeah, I don't think it's necessarily the reverb/echo itself that is sort of insulting to the ears so much as the velocity of the solo notes from that synth. Like, the ones that happen after everything else stops and it's literally JUST that synth; the echo is a bit loud and bothersome. I need to lower them farther, which I'll definitely do before submission.
Yeah that's basically what I meant...You describe it much better than me XD

This is good!
The vocals are quite nice
The only thing I would really change if you do an upgrade is the drums (The cymbals especially sound kind of iffy).
Also, the end is very abrupt, but apart from that, it sounds good!
-
Nice!
0:57-1:02 really surprised me because I was so used to the old version XD.
Tbh, I think that part could do with a little less reverb, but we'll see what Emunator thinks.
I love the string part just after that btw!
Other than that, this version sounds siiick!
That sound effect at the beginning especially sounds a lot nicer now, and I like the marimba addition at 3:30.
Good luck for when you submit!

That's why real bands don't dump 40 track albums on their fans (Aside from not having time...).
OCR should release an album of grindcore
The Flower Kings' album Paradox Hotel is my favorite, it is 2 discs and 136 minutes long. It's also epic prog rock so it works.I'm going to have to check that out!
-
Yes Pirate Metal! I love the steel pans and the Chorus. Those are some sick vocals!
-
Hahaha, those voices are awesome! I like your Horns too
-
Well okay, it's not really orchestral, but there's nothing wrong with just strings!
And this movie is great
-
Nice cover! Well played. It's very simple, but it still sounds really good.

Hello everyone,
I've changed the requirements for the opening and closing tracks because they were quite vague and nobody seemed to be particularly interested in them. If you check the tracklist you can see what I want instead.
Also...half the tracks are claimed! Hopefully we'll get a few more people interested, and we'll have a full lineup
By the way, seeing as the opening/ending theme is in Swedish, if there are any Swedish singers (female or male) who would be willing to collaborate with someone on that track, please let me know!
-
Behind the Scenes!
I've got a whole technical writeup along with sheet music and a practice session with the vocalists on my blog for the track Dies, Nox et Omnia.
I have to say, this song is one of my favorites from the album! It was very unexpected, but I was pleasantly surprised when I heard it
-
Remind me sometime in the fall if you still need remixers then. I could do something.
Yeah, for sure! Even if all the track are taken you could always do a bonus track or something
-
I'm loving it so far! It's so cool that there is a piece of artwork for every track!
-
Love it! I like how fast it is compared to some piano arrangements.

One thing I keep noticing: You all keep criticizing Square-Enix in the "they". Do we actually have names for these people ruining your games or is it some sort of phantom composite of Japanese pointy-hair business suits that don't have names but are the icon for the company? I mean' date=' do we actually have an agreement for when Square-Enix supposedly started sucking?[/quote']
But...those two questions aren't the same at all :S
And there's no way for everyone to agree on a time when they "started sucking". Everyone is going to have different opinions.
-
Huh. Y'know, for all the crap SquareEnix gets, I've noticed that some of my favorite games from recent years are from that company (either created or produced by them, anyway). Saga2 DS remake (with the fan translation, of course), TWEWY, DQIX... Perhaps their FF franchise isn't doing so hot right now (I haven't been in the console market for almost a decade so I can't say) but there are certainly some great games that they still produce. I suppose that's just me, though - to each his own, here.
I'm with you on that. I'm really not impressed with all of the ports/remakes they've been doing, but some of the more original games are quite good. Hell, I even liked FF12 even though most didn't. It definitely had a different feel, and the story/characters were terrible, but I thought the gameplay itself was really fun.

Thanks for the kind words everyone more mixes are on the way a lot are from games that have never been mixed I wanna stand out as a remixer so I will be searching for games that haven't been touched
Awesome! That is this year's theme after all

Wow, once again, really good stuff!
The intro sounds a lot better compared to the original version, and once it gets going at 0:43 it sounds great!
I'm liking the chiptune elements too.
