  1. I agree. Mario Kart 64 is mint. I'm not even familiar with the other Mario Kart's but that's just me, and I suck. :-(

No, you don't. *looks back and forth with paranoia*

    Don't smite me...

Yeah. That's probably a good idea.

Maybe I should leave the SNES album to the OneUps :-|

I think you should stick with Mario Kart 64 since it seems to be the lesser covered...

Yeah, but it's the most covered...?

Of the nine remixes from the Mario Kart Franchise, Mario Kart 64 has five.

  2. OK, critiques from headphones:

The bass beat seems very loud, and on headphones started giving me a headache and really distracted from the melodies going on, especially for the first minute or so.

The startup sound at 1:42 sounded a bit off. I like the idea of putting the classic startup sound in, but it sounds really chip-tunish compared to the rest of the track. I think it could be made to fit in, maybe with some tweaking of its eq and other effects, but it kinda jumps out right now.

The high synth from 1:53ish on sounds a little shrill to me, very high pitched and not very well blended into the rest of the piece.

Also, the dynamics along the entire song seem pretty static. Try to add some variations - some quieting down right before the startup sound, some slow panning as the trance rolls around (that makes sense in my head, not sure typed out...), just some more rise and fall. Overall, I think you've done pretty good so far. It is definitely different from all other Rainbow Road remixes I've heard . Mainly fix up some of those production issues and keep it up!

I agree. The bass was a bit loud, and the dynamics were the same throughout.

The Starting effect at 1:39 (not 1:42?) could work with a small layered synth underneath, and if you add a chorus effect, as well.

The final cutoff is a bit sudden and makes it sound unfinished. I don't know if it was intentional, or if it was just the way tindeck uploaded it... :-|

Overall, a very solid piece. Good work.

  3. Yeah...

I'm easy to anger, and I have to be more careful, so I think I will take the blame for the egg-thing.

    I'm probably going to recieve

    Maxwell's Silver Hammer
    from him. (again)

So... Sorry for all of the wasted space. Contine.

Also, I think I will pull for the Title Screen. (any further discussion on this will be by PM, RECKENEFIN).

Sorry, and good luck to you all.

  4. I'll take Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64 because I was going to do it anyway (as a collab with halc, actually) but we reserve the right to release it early to the panel, not have it be saved as a project track. :-)

Oh wait nevermind, you're the guy who started egging all my stuff

No prob, but actually, you started it,

    egg-broken.jpg

and well, I got carried away in defense.

And here's ano- o, crap. Wait, no!

    egg-broken.jpg

    Sigh.

    D*** egg.

I guess I'll clean it up...

    crap

  5. Alright, I decided to drop the whole mess with the voting, and just move on with the selecting of the tracks.

I have decided on Super Mario Kart for SNES and Mario Kart 64 for, well, Nintendo 64.

Track lists should be in the original post, right now I am writing up the names, and should be able to find the YouTube versions soon.

    Be patient with me!

I will post again when this is finished - you don't ever receive notifications for edited posts, just new ones, it seems.

And I find that annoying, but it will have to do.
