  1. Hotspur! - What a great name for a band. I'm not just saying that because I'm a Tottenham fan by the way. I'll definitely give that a read. It does sound somewhat depressing.
  2. The Ice Cap mix was most amusing. Good work, Zircon.
  3. Very enjoyable. I like the playful nature of this mix. It reminds of Super Bomberman 2 on the SNES. Nice.
  4. I agree. Although I'm a Mac Logic user, I know quite a few PC owners who are happily doing professional work with Logic 5.5.1.
  5. It's amazing how people keep reworking this track and getting new things out of it. I think more than anything else, Tepid has realized his vision for this tune in a very competent manner. I get the impression that he knew exactly what he wanted, and got it. The textures are indeed, something rather special.
  6. I wanna go there and do Pixie a good favor like show her some good halloween zombie movies.. I'm good at that.. Was that little return intentional? Because it sure looks like you want to come and do me. ¬_¬ We can watch zombie movies when I come for the winter Toronto meet! LOL. You guys are something else. Love it!
  7. I would just like to say a big think you to djpretzel and all the judges who made this possible. I appreciate the helpful and interesting comments provided by you guys. Ok people, love me.
  8. I’m also guilty of not paying my respects to what is one of my all time, if not favourite OC ReMixes. This track has been out for almost a year and I got it pretty much on release. It’s an absolutely beautiful example of what you can do with allot of creative know-how. The two themes work so well together, and talk about your killer chorus. All the instrumentation is this is first rate, I still can’t believe how good it sounds. It’s just one of those tracks that will always have a special place to me. Oh, and I was going to review this, I’m simply taking advantage of a wonderful coincidence.
  9. Mazedude, Very nice. I love the harmonies in this. I haven't heard the original but the quality shines through here. Perhaps the most impressive thing is the way you restrained yourself between 0.52/0.54. It’s nice to see something in complete contrast to your last remix. I’m not sure Sagat would approve of this, and if he did, he’d probably listen too it with headphones so no one would know. Excellent work.
  10. Well I remember owning this a few years back. This is a tune I have always liked, with it’s simplistic chords and nice melody. However, I honestly have to say, I’d never have been able to pick that melody out of your remix. I’m not that taken with this. There are some nice touches for sure, and it’s not all bad by any means. I just think you have butchered a beautiful melody. Again, this isn’t always a bad thing but it just didn’t work for me this time. Also, I found some of the chords and melodies slightly disagreeable. Well done though. The fact is, it meets OCR standards. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oh dear, it seams I owe you an apology. When I downloaded the original GBS file I wasn’t paying attention and just asssumed your remix was based on track 1/30. You can probably see why I had difficulty picking it out now. This does significantly change my opinion on the remix. I totally appreciate what you have done with this track. As I said earlier, it’s not all bad and now it’s a whole lot better. Good job. Again, let me offer my apologies.
  11. Hmm, it seams that given this new information about the competition, my review could use a little amendment. In fairness, it’s not like analoq sat down and decided to remix this tune of his own accord. There were some predefined conditions set and on that basis the tune certainly achieves what it set out to do. This may well have sounded different, given a free hand. Indecently, who won the comp. endblink, just playin.
  12. analoq, On the plus side, you do have a very distinctive sound. It’s quite apparent that you're not without musical talent. IMHO though, Thin Glow is far and away your best work to date. This one just doesn’t do it for me. Your guitar does sound very nice, if not a little loud in places, but I just can’t get into it as much as said remix. I guess you set yourself some pretty high standards, initially. Give me some more beautiful synth action. Nice review, endblink.
  13. Well, it’s been almost three months, djpretzel. I can honestly say, I’m not disappointed. The fact that this was your first real attempt at mixing this genre only adds to the credibility of your work. This has great production values and is extremely well carried off. I think the thing I like most about this though, is that you’ve thrown something completely different out there. It’s a great advertisement for OCR in general. Good show, Sir.
  14. I like this. It’s very clear and defined. The electric piano sounds wonderful, nice work.
  15. StarBLaSt, your one sick puppy. This is unbelievably addictive stuff. I love the vocals and the melody is simply adorable. The chords are really nice, simple enough, but mighty effective. I’m hooked.
  16. Oh yes, I like this. Great textures and beautiful piano. The guitar work is also extremely cool. No doubt, you'll be back.
  17. I’ve been a fan of your original works for quite some time now, Eric. This is excellent work, also. I’m glad you turned your attentions to remixing game music as well. Looking forward to more from you, Sir.
  18. This is simply outstanding. Unbelievably well produced and the instruments used for the main melody are beautiful. Analoq, I’m very impressed with your work and am seriously looking forward to your future remixes.
