  1. Last I heard from sadorf he was just about finished with his. He made me rush to school one morning so I could get online and listen to his progress and give feedback. I did, and he never produced anything. So...that's up to him. As for GLL and myself? Last I heard GLL was still trying to come up with music. He doesn't check email very often, and phone communication is at a halt. His phone has no screen, and no ringer. So I can call - but if I miss him, he won't call back because he doesn't know he has a missed call or who called him. Currently, my phone is out of commission - snapped in half *eek!* I'm waiting for Kyle to send me a used one, and then on Dec. 1st getting a new one with my contract thing for CrapT&T If GLL and I ever get our mix off the ground, we can also have the MORTAL DODGEBALL!!! bonus OLR track.
  2. I can be the unofficial part-time secretary.
  3. I see what you did there... You used actual factual information for your post. Either way, people should check it out. analoq and I might be pairing up for a collab in this year's competition!
  4. I'm gonna play secretary here again... I'm pretty sure there's no genre limitations. As long as what you're good at sounds good with the music you're working with - it should be great. From Sir NutS's trance to Luiza and CarboHydroM's guitar awesomeness to the more orchestral tracks by some of the others - it's whatever sounds good. As for a time limit...I would say as soon as possible, before the other tracks are finished. So long as you want your track to be included in the official release. There is no exact date set for the project release, but the sooner everything is done, the sooner it can come out.
  5. Well, you can always beat them with the number of GOOD tracks. ...heck Around the World might have a chance at that, too - and we've only got 13 songs in the entire game! I'm pretty sure there are a few tracks that were dropped completely from the original plans, in an attempt to expedite release. Just give Kyle a chance to get home from work, and Lea a chance to remember what the internet is, and one of them might get back to you soon on it. It might be a good idea to have some sort of sample to show what you've got just so they know if it's worth letting you on or not. Good luck.
  6. I wonder if that would make Kyle jealous or excited...X'D
  7. B& PERMANENTLY!!! I want someone to send me a love letter...
  8. Prophet...If I had the power...I would. I've been PMing Walan with what he should update. Heck, have of the messages I send could probably be copied and pasted. *shrug* avaris, I'm looking forward to hearing it, too...but GLL won't send me music. We have lyrics written already, and I sent him a couple recordings of them (Very crappy, mind you. Not even in tune. Just in 2 different keys so he can pick which one would sound best with the music, and which he thinks I would sound best in), and I need music so that I can practice the lyrics, and so I can get in time. But, he won't send me anything. I'm kind of getting worried about the status of our mix, and wondering if it will even happen. I think I pissed him off... Or I'm just terrible, and he can't admit it.
  9. So, I checked my email, and saw the topic reply notification. Even without seeing your name, I knew it was you just by your first line...haha. I can always look up the log. I think there was in fact something that I noticed that was a little off, but at work where I can't hear it, I don't remember exactly what it was. Yeah, I'll check the chatlog when I get home. Don't be so mean to Arek. He counts as...umm...as high as 20 with his shoes off!
  10. Will Melodyne do as much for me as the "voice enhancers deveolped by NASA" did for Bart, Milhouse, Ralph, and Nelson in that one Simpsons episode where they became a boy band??? And, see...I want to try to not need any serious fixing to my voice. But if worse comes to worse...you might want to let GLL know about it. Haha. Though, he was able to use enough effects to turn some pretty s**** vocals into this a couple years ago.
  11. Excellent, both of you. And while update fever is going on, I might as well provide one myself. Lyrics for GLL and my mix are written. I'm waiting to hear some music from him so I can get to practicing singing the lyrics so they won't sound like any of my BEER mixes from way back when, and so he doesn't have to heavily edit the vocals to make me sound like a computerized voice again. Unfortunately, I can't say we're almost done like the rest of you...but...umm...we have started? I'll have to call him and yell at him or something.
  12. I was just being a pain about what you said in the post I quoted, not the first one. "Mae" is okay for my name in the first post, as that's not the ID3 tag being sent out. LOL
  13. Hmm...I never realized that if you turn my name into an acronym, it's pronounced "Wemots." Maybe I need to change it...again.
  14. *ahem* I wrote the lyrics (which will probably be altered - both vocally, and lyrically), and will be singing them, thankyaverymuch. It was his idea to collab with me again, but my idea to do it for this project. So, more correctly, it should be "Team England taken by Ghetto Lee Lewis and Jennifer Mae"
  15. Chickenwarlord, I know what I said probably wasn't very constructive, but I don't know what you're capable of. I didn't mean to discourage you in any way with my reply after hearing your WIP. As soon as you come up with a mix that sounds like it's going somewhere, we'll gladly put you down as the claimer of the track. It doesn't have to be of the entire mix at first. If you just start with an intro, or just a few seconds from what will be the middle, and nail it as well as possible, that'll be a way to convince us. You can change it later as the mix evolves, but we want to hear something that shows you have what it takes first. I talked to Walan on AIM today, and told him to make sure he listens to your sample as well. I don't know if he's gotten around to it or not yet. ------- Also, Prophet - you can send your finished Kenya mix to Walan and I at any time. I sent Walan a PM of everything that needs to be updated on the first post, and it would be great to have you put down as "DONE" But, we need to hear the finished product before we can put you down as such. Thanks for your efforts, and thanks again for offering to contribute more through helping other mixers. ----- Additionally, Akumu's archive (which is currently hosting the nsf) is unavailable. I will temporarily be hosting it on my own space in the meantime. Anyone who needs the nsf can get it here Last, but not least: India, Japan, and the Closing Credits are still up for grabs, and as far as I know, nobody has expressed serious interest in them. Chickenwarlord has expressed interest in the Title Screen, and I hope that he can make it work.
  16. Chickenwarlord's mix seemed like it could in fact go somewhere, but at this stage still needs a lot of work. If you two would be willing to work together, it could turn out great.
  17. Great! Go ahead and send it to Walan, and to me as well.
  18. You are Not Alone! is definitely begging for lyrics. I started writing some (not so good ones) myself a few years ago, but yours are definitely better. The first verse seems a lot choppier than the rest of the singing. Not sure if that's intentional or not, but it seems like it could flow a little better if you smoothed out that very beginning. I suppose it could be intentional, since the original and mix have a sort of choppier start. Two examples of how vocals might sound smoothed out. First verse smoothed out, in my natural singing voice, a bit lower than yours First verse, just smoothed out, in my higher voice I'll be looking forward to hearing your finished product.
  19. I'd love to hear it, and I'm sure Walan would like to as well. I wonder if Arek is even still co-co-coordinating this...I haven't seen anything from him in this thread, and I've only talked to him on AIM a few times, once about the project only. Anyway, go ahead and send anything you have along to Walan and I to have a listen.
  20. A bump to bring this back up on the forum list. Also, just checking in to say that GLL and I are still trying to work on something for the England theme. Lyrics are written (by yours truly...so, they probably suck. Haha). GLL is working with the music, and I'm still trying to provide vocals in a key he likes, lmao. Anyway, to the rest of you: Keep up the remixing, and for anyone still interested, there are still 4 tracks available: Title Screen India Japan Ending/Credits Looks like Akumu's server is down, so the nsfe is currently unavailable. If you want a copy of the nsf files, and don't want to search, send me a PM and I can email you a copy. Please, any remixers with a WIP, check in from time to time, and let us know we're still working.
  21. There is no OCR without Nice Work! NONE! I thought spending $27 for Greyhound and 3 city buses would have been too expensive. I'm sure that's nothing compared to your flight. I was planning on busing out there, and spending the night as well. Thanks for my family calling me LAST MINUTE to babysit my cousin. Worst part is - my dad didn't even have to work Friday night, so I didn't have to babysit until last night. But since I was already here, I couldn't just get up and head to Greyhound to tell my 13 year old cousin I was going to go meet a bunch of strangers (and 5 people I already knew), since she's already tried to hook it up with some 24+ year old guys from the internet. I'm trying to set a GOOD example, and not let her think it's okay to meet random folk she doesn't know. The only reason I go to the meetups is because I know a couple people there, and it's not just total strangers. Anyway, glad you guys had fun. Hopefully I'll be free for the next one! And maybe I'll finally have a car - if I can afford one. Sucks being broke.
  22. I would, but she's the type that's likely to end up eventually meeting the WRONG people from the internet. This would only encourage her to think its okay.
  23. And I'm here...babysitting my 13-year-old cousin. Oh well, at least I still have the mini So-Cal Transformers "meet-up" that Hemo inspired me to put together. I'm going to go cry now. Or play City of Heroes. Have fun all!
  24. Change in plans... My family decided they're going out of town for the weekend, and they're leaving my 13 year old cousin by herself at my parents' house. And they want me to go stay the night there so she isn't alone. I guess this works out better than spending $27 anyway. Sorry all!
  25. And while I do all that, I'll be carrying the meet-up's PS2, a few games (feel free to bring some of your own games as well), a change of clothes, and if I have room, perhaps a sleeping bag. Maybe I should try to detach the kitchen sink... But if anyone is driving through Claremont (it's on the 210 Freeway, just west of the 15 freeway) I would appreciate a ride.
