  1. Recently completed my first mixtape where I remixed a number of my favorite tracks from Chrono Trigger. Probably best categorized as Vaportrap/Lofi Hip Hop [ChronoWave] ¦ [クロノ波 ]
  2. I made a 15min remixtape of sorts where I took some DOOM acapellas and put them all together to my own beats, and then set all the remixed songs to various clips and videos. I realize remixes of DOOM are often underwhelming, but hopefully I did the man justice... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hI2w-gyuaA
  3. Just finished this beat the other day -- it's super driven by this one brass loop, so I kept it short (2 minutes) so it doesn't get too repetitive; sync'd it up to some crazy ass dance footage from the classic Soul Train tv show and ba-boom, here we go folks: (Sorry for the horrible video quality, the footage is from the 70s so it's the best I could come across)
  4. Really murky/underground beat Decided to go through my recent collection of strange/weird foreign movies and found some really creepy/dark clips to give the beat that extra push!
  5. So I do a cypher contest every month; for this month, I took a beat I made a few months ago for a contest but never released the instrumental. Updated the mix a bit and decided to use it as the beat for my cypher contest: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12046302&q=hi&newref=1 If you rap, check out my cyphers on YouTube; prize for this month is $50: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPdvW14Q0LY
  6. School finals + holidays + a bunch of other bullshit been keeping me away from music Trying to work my way back in with some creative exploration; so I found this weird little gumby sample and to get the juices flowing I decided to flip it into 4 different beats and try to merge them all into one hip-hop movement instrumental Sample: Flip: The beat changes about every 45 seconds into a whole new flip of the sample so jump around The flip is pretty strange in itself -- on top of that, I set it to some really trippy claymation video. People didn't really take to it....Oh well. My only regret is the bass is super deep so it's kinda only present if you've got a nice sub or a solid pair of headphones Let me know what you guys think of this -- I'm interested to hear (good or bad) cause I know this shit is odd, but I'm honestly pretty happy on how it came out
  7. New beat: Kinda hard to describe; has an emotional feel and a real dynamic energy -- switches from slow to fast and goes through different vibes
  8. New beat; super gritty / underground vibes: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11952789&q=hi&newref=1 Really like the lo-fi style, hopefully you guys can get downs
  9. Epic hip-hop beat; Clams Casino style Edited some epic nature footage to sync up with the beat and submitted it for TAGGs Producer contest: Something different
  10. Another emotional one -- has that sorta ambient influence, leaning towards that melancholy/sadness vibe: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11957742&q=hi&newref=1 Been switching between this style while also, more-so trying to focus on my gritty/underground vibes but every now and again, if I happen across the right sample, I'm gonna bang out a few of these for something different
  11. Very melancholy, emotional beat: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11930761&q=hi&newref=1 The night before I made this beat I was up late at night, listening to the new Mumford & Sons album just sorta reflecting on past relationships and analyzing my mistakes and possible regrets -- it wasn't like emo bullshit, but like legitimate learning from the past, but it did get me thinking about a lot of exes and the next day I stumbled across the sample I used for this beat and had to attack it (keeping the sample under wraps btw) The bass was really finicky in this and with all the different vocals going on the in the background I couldn't get something that really vibed well so the bass is really lite, but somehow I feel like that adds to the strain of the beat and goes along with the sorrow/desire tone of it Wow, this is a long description -- anyway, check it out, and make sure you check out the switch at 1:48 -- that's where the emotional aggression really comes out! Anyway, like I said, this one comes from a rather emotional spot for me so I'm really hoping you guys dig it -- but if not, it's still feels good to put this one out there
  12. Something straightforward -- just a little thing to throw up and just start freestyling to: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11928059&q=hi&newref=1 I do Cypher contest every month and this was going to be the beat for this month's cypher but I switched it out at the last minute for something with more variance The beat is split into two sections which are essentially the same -- like I said, it's just supposed to be something for a quick two-part freestyle type of a thing, not like a full-on track; so for it is, just like a freeverse type of beat, I actually really like how it came out
  13. New beat: Sampled the 60's Batman TV Show: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11918907&q=hi&newref=1 Really trying to dive in deep with these underground type beats -- love the sound and people seem to dig the style so that only makes me want to commit to it even further This is also the beat I'm using for my cypher for this month -- the beat is split into 2 sections so what I'm doing is asking people to find someone else to jump on the track with and submit like a "dual" entry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgadtcaMmFY
  14. Real underground hip-hop beat: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11894164&q=hi&newref=1 Tried to give the drums a nice loose vibe and just give the track an overall gritty ass vibe -- one of my favorite beats I've made so hopefully you guys can dig
  15. New beat -- all original [no samples]; latin sorta drums and just a weird like ethnic funk vibe: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11877029&q=hi&newref=1 Not sure how well known RedHookNoodles is but he's a YouTube producer who's got like 40 million views on YouTube -- anyway, he made a second channel for people to submit beats to but he seems to not take sample beats so dug down into my compositional style and made something completely original; submitted it like a week ago and haven't heard anything yet but hopefully it gets accepted
  16. Sample comes from the 2nd Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11870384&q=hi&newref=1 Mix is pretty fucked on this one cause the sound source was jacked but I feel like it gives the track an intriguing murkiness; a real deep underground cut
  17. New beat: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11865730&q=hi&newref=1 Was listening to all those BET Cyphers and wanted to do something that could fit that sort of vibe Came up with this -- something that's just straightforward and easy to just flow over; has some weird little synthy riffs in there too just to give it some weirdness
  18. New beat -- real chilled out, slow beat: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11857540&q=hi&newref=1 And here be the sample: (Sampled mostly the first 10 seconds) The beat is also the beat being used for my cypher for this month -- I'm usually going to do a cash prize for these cyphers, but for this month, I'm putting up the exclusive rights to one of the beats from my cypher last month: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNpK7PqDYWY
  19. Submitted this for TAGG's producer contest: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11835419&q=hi&newref=1 It's real chopped up and manipulated but it's still fairly smooth -- has a ambient, chilled-out vibe but with energetic drums (It's on that Clams Casino vibe if you know who that dude is) There's a nice fat bass in there but it's pretty low in the frequencies so if you gots a sub, turn that shit on and bang the fuck out; otherwise, I layered the bass upon itself and raised it an octave so it's still there for the non-sub system users but it might not have as much presence as you'd like -- but jam this in your car or on a big system and this should bang real nice Here be the sample: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_X_3nY8PbQ (sampled mostly from the first like 20 seconds then took bits and pieces from other spots all over) I try to stay away from samples with a lot of views + anime soundtracks are getting real popular with producers lately and I just love diggin into obscurity and coming out with gems but I played around with this one and couldn't resists the chops I was coming up with -- hopefully you will agree that I made the right decision in banging with this one
  20. Mellow-ish hiphop beat Here's the sample: (Took a couple different parts all from within the first 25 seconds) So what I did was microchopped the sample so I could move single bell notes individually then added a bunch of distortion and then went to town: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11783808&q=hi&newref=1 Threw in some acapellas that I scratched in myself using FL Scratcher (it's actually a really cool little tool once you really figure out how to use it to it's best potential); figure this could be like a dope intro track for an artists like first mixtape/album mainly cause on the hook I left a space in between "Who Is It?" and "The Coolest Mother Fucker On The Globe" with the intention that the artist could say their own name in the space so it's like introducing themselves to the listener -- just an idea I had while making it to give a nice sort of niche spin to the track Let me know if you dig the vibes/flip cause I'm really happy what I was able to turn that sample into on this one
  21. So FunkVolume is doing this contest where they put out an acapella and producers make a beat around it I rarely do dirty south type beats but it's the only thing that could work for the acapella so here's what I came up with: The Original Song: My Version: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11778968&q=hi&newref=1
  22. Here's the sample: Here be the flip: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11739519&q=hi&newref=1
  23. So it was Pete Rock's Bday two weeks ago (June 21st) and me and a couple friends decided to do some Pete Rock reflips Here's my flip: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11736965&q=hi&newref=1 And here's Pete Rock's original: Keep in mind, for whatever reason, I never really got into Wu-Tang all that much, so I wasn't really familiar with the original -- at least, not enough to know the chops and everything. I didn't really listen to the original song until after I flipped it and, although I'm a bit disappointed in the chops being a little too similar, I actually really dig how it came out
  24. New southern soul inspired beat: http://www.AfterTouchBeats.com (beat will play automatically) Beat has a murky southern guitar sample and really soulful hook; the sample is from the 60s so it's nice and gritty Also made a new layout that's more streamlined and simple so let me know what you think of that too!
  25. Found this 70s jazz/soul sample and had to flip it up into something: http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=11723188&q=hi&newref=1 Track is really repetitive; probably should have gone more intricate with the hats and drum rolls but I didn't want it to be too energetic and really wanted to avoid that "trap" sound and keep this really nice and soulful like that old school Houston hip-hop sound
