  1. https://youtu.be/Lyli7Ld4AYE I finally decided to go through with Balrog's theme from Street Fighter! This is such a good tune, I love the original for its easy form and potential to experiment with. I went towards an 80s disco style and had to go through with a key signature transposition to get the result I wanted, a bit tricky but it went well. The original has a nice groove I tried to stay close to, and the melodies are so easy to remember that they stay in your head long after the song has ended. I had so many ideas for this one, I just hope I chose one worthy and exciting! As I mentioned I went towards an 80s disco style, I really got the vibes from a late friday night out with the boys, drunk on life (and alcohol) just dancing that last dance before an unknown after party emerges. And during the after party, this groove goes on until early morning. Maybe you hooked up with a pretty girl (or boy) lying on a grass hill, holding hands and watching the starry sky getting more and more illuminated by the first morning sunrays. Cheers for a new day and for that old days we remember so dearly! And may there be peace once again. /Neon X
  2. Main part done. Still have some adjusting to do; breakdown might be re-written, gonna see if it grows on me. PS: Tried posting the embedded code, but I can't get it to come up... dontknow..
  3. Three's A CrowdFL.mp3 This is a short work in progress I thought I would throw up here. It's less than half done, but I thought I might try to get some feedback:)
  4. This is a remix I did on FL Studio mobile, and uploaded to Soundcloud. I think it turned out pretty well, all things considered. I think Soundcloud altered the sound this a little. The sub bass seems a little enhanced compared to the WAV file, and 1k-2k seems a little suppressed. Thanks for feedback ahead of time!
  5. I've discovered this bg music in a Mario Flash bootleg game (called Super Mario Remix 3) and I really liked it. Probably is a remix of a bg music and I'd like to know the origin of it. I don't think it was made by the creator of that game, because flash bootleg games used to take songs or remixes from other sites. I know that this page is special for remixes and I've discovered great remixes in this page (for example I've discovered a remix of SMW Castle Theme that was used in another mario bootleg game called New Super Mario Forever 2012). If you could tell me where it comes from. I'd very grateful. Thanks for your attention.
  6. UPDATE JULY 17th Latest version with slight mix tweaks. Bass gets its own little climax at the end of the transition / buildup so it doesn't feel like it just keeps hanging there. DESCRIPTION I decided to come back to a remix project that I never really finished to satisfaction. I shared an earlier version here on OCR and now I'd like to share the updated version. This remix combines two tracks from the Donkey Kong Country 2 soundtrack (SNES): "Bayou Boogie" and "Stickerbush Symphony". Original composer: David Wise. This is an updated version from an earlier attempt, titled "Swamped with Nostalgia" I replaced some instruments and added my own recorded bird song samples. After some problems with mixing I decided to go with a "less is more" approach and cut away samples and instruments to maximize the elements that I like. Newly added is the acoustic guitar chords, created by NI's Session Guitarist, which gives it the flavor I had been looking for but couldn't produce the first time. The transition between the two tracks now does what I wanted it to do all along! The overall structure and most instruments have remained the same. So has difficulty mixing and mastering (I slapped on a Maximus preset and tweaked that a little until it sounded right to me. Then came back the next day with semi-fresh ears to do a final tweak.) Here it is, for your enjoyment. [REMOVED OLD LINK. SEE LATEST ABOVE]
  7. Something I put together on my phone using Caustic. I'm working 25 plus hours of OT a week, so breaks at work are the most time I have to do anything like this. Feedback please. Remix Original
  8. After drawing back from making music for some time with the purpose of developing a new mixing style and getting used to my new professional Yamaha MSP 3 studio monitors (which might be some of the most accurate and truthful studio monitors in the world and really tough precision tools definitely made for mixing and sound engineering), I'm now back on track with a nice remix of the soundtrack "Superman", originally made by the punk rock and ska punk band Goldfinger. The original track got quite famous within the Playstation game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (also called "Tony Hawk's Skateboarding" in several countries). And since I was really digging this song when I played the game as an adolescent, I decided to create a really awesome remix of this track with my new mixing skills and my new professional studio tools. Since this remix is basically my first big track mixed on my new Yamaha MSP 3 studio monitors and I think that it's one of my best tracks with a much more advanced and professional mixing style for now, I hope you radically enjoy this one just like I do. I've put a lot of time, effort, passion and inner fire in the new composition for this remix and I had a lot of fun while creating it with my own musical style which consists of a nice variety of ambient soundscapes, heavy rock parts and some easy-going jazzy lines in this case. For further information about the creation of my remix check out the upload description of the Youtube link for my remix. So, here's the content. Original soundtrack: >>> --------------------------------------- Newest version of my remix: 1.0 >>> >>> >>> https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm38478429 Enjoy this one and radically give me some feedback on how you like the composition for the remix - especially my new mixing style based on my new Yamaha MSP 3 studio monitors and the use of the 2-channel surround mode in my DAW for getting a more spatial mix with a greater imagination of depth.
  9. A wave of Zelda nostalgia has come over me recently and I felt compelled to remix the Title theme of Zelda: OoT. The first melody you hear in the game after turning it on is gorgeous and I had to pay tribute with this lofi/hip hop inspired cover/remix. I had a lot of fun making it and plan to do more Zelda remixes in the future. I hope you enjoy it!
  10. Here is my remix for Rundas so far! I just need to add some guitar and some other things. This may change quite a bit. So far I have almost everything finished! The voice may not stay as it is. I may use a vocoder. Let me know what you Metroid Prime lovers think about it so far. August 3 Update Added guitars! August 4 Update Added Rundas' Voice! August 5 Update New Guitar parts
  11. So I'm sharing this again;) I've been fooling around with Cakewalk, FL Mobile, Caustic...and FL Studio Producer edition. I did all of the arranging for this tune in Caustic for Android. I tweaked the final sound (with my limited knowledge) with FL Studio 20. I have been fooling around with the different DAWS I just mentioned, and for some reason, so far, this is my favorite product. I don't get much time these days to fool with music. I like how this sounds, it reminds me of MOD files from back in the day. I wonder if this remix sounding this way would ever pass the panel...I believe chip tunes have made it through, I wonder if this style would ever pass, as an artistic choice. I would appreciate some constructive feedback! EpicFootStepsCaustic.wav
  12. So yeah, this is something that has gone through quite a few permutations, and this is my latest attempt:) This was completely done on my phone, mostly during breaks at work, as I have very little time to do anything musical at all at home...I have a toddler;) Most of this was done with Fruit Loops Mobile, with an excerpt from Caustic...the vocoder part. I did a quick and dirty master with the Caustic mastering app. I appreciate the feedback the judges have given through this process...and I have tried to apply their critiques. High pass filter set low frequency, so cool. I appreciate and wish for feedback, Thanks!:) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CNSnJLjYjUOpeKlf0TUSajeFjPxAmrRd/view?usp=drivesdk
  13. Hello guys, because Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of my favorite SNES games, i tried to make a remix from my favorite song called "Forest Interlude". I'm not completly happy with the result, so let me know what u think about it . UPDATE:
  14. Made Using FM Composer. Criticism is welcome. https://youtu.be/SrGSUKi4Dfc
  15. Just threw this together quickly as I wanted to pay tribute to my favourite part of the new Streets of Rage 4 soundtrack. For me the soundtrack is really interesting, I personally miss the iconic melodies of the first two games but overall it works, and while I feel it is lacking those catchy melodies, suddenly there are moments like this in the game where it just hits home and immediately feels nostalgic even though it's brand new. https://youtu.be/LfDkxa2Teek
  16. Here's an Animal Crossing track called ''Able Sisters'' that I decided to a lofi remix of. Just felt inspired and wanted to give it some new life, haha. It's technically supposed to be a little older sounding as it's ''Lofi,'' but it has a driving hip hop beat on top of it. I first created a cover of the exact arrangement from the original piece (upright bass, acoustic guitar, flute, drum machine, synths), then I treated that recording as a sample to transform it into the lofi genre. Anyway, here it is! lemme know what you think! a like or comment would be appreciated if you enjoy!
  17. This is different than what I have tried before:) It's supposed to be a rock band playing the tune. I don't know guitar worth a damn, but I tried adding some automation to some guitar parts to make them sound more "human", but I didn't want to overdo it. Remix then original are posted. Thanks for feedback!:) Remix Original Remix https://drive.google.com/file/d/18_SHAPTKIAORVq0P6YcpNAGUcVwHPwlo/view?usp=sharing
