  1. Remake Heaven Hello people of ocremix, In this particular Topic I'm going to be posting music that's what this forum is all about: remake/remixes/variations from old nostalgic game music! I started some while ago and to my surprise, people enjoyed the content, so I kept doing it more regularly and now at my Youtube channel I publish a whole new remake Every Monday! This is the updated playlist Take a look and listen! If you happen to like the remake, share, like, comment or even subscribe to my channel to hear more! I'll be posting all new videos here to this topic
  2. ORIGINAL M. BISON THEME HERE
  3. Link (can be streamed or downloaded) For those not aware, Sinjoh Ruins itself is already a medley of several tracks from Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum for the DS. Both Sinjoh Ruins and its main source, Mt. Coronet, are unusually quick and complicated for Pokemon area music (only really rivaled by some of the important battle themes, i.e. Giratina's), while this remix looks to expand on segments that don't get as much presence as they could have (the second half of Mt. Coronet, Giratina's theme, etc.) and also adds in some new stuff (Arceus, Distortion World). There's also the Pokéathlon Finals theme in there as a liquid DnB-esque segment to pick up the pace and conversely provide some levity before the bombastic stuff at the end. 4. Hi everyone, I always enjoyed the music from this community, so I decided to give it a try (this is my first contribution / submission). I made a Rock Medley of six Final Fantasy 7 songs: Birth Of A God (focus of the track) J-E-N-O-V-A Hurry! Main Theme The Prelude Opening Theme This is the link to my track (I made a video, showing when I play which song), please forgive my mediocre video editing skills: The original songs can be easily found on youtube (I don't want to make this post too large embedding all six videos). The dominant song in my remix is Birth of a God. This is the original: I hope you like it. Feedback is appreciated, of course. The_Music_Channel
  5. Another video game music remix of the Sinistral Battle Theme (Battle #3) I'm currently working at. It will take some further time for the finished version - but I think it's already pretty nice. 6. Hey y'all! Long time no see. Given the somewhat irregular output I've had recently I wanted to make sure this was kind of a big thing before I posted in GenDisc (If this doesn't count, I throw myself to the mercy of the mods). I've been pretty busy going back to school and getting ready to have a kid here pretty soon, but I wanted to finish a song and make a video before the baby comes. Believe it or not, my (seven month pregnant) wife actually helped out a lot on the video side of things and made the video shoots of the pumpkins possible. Anyway, I wanted to post this here because, to be honest, my mindset while making this song was very similar to how we do ReMixes here; take the original and do an original arrangement of it. I love the Halloween theme and Carpenter's style, both filmically and musically, so without further adieu: And the song, with free download:
  7. This is my first time posting to these forums and submitting a remix to them. I just recently got what I believe is called a step sequencer on my computer, LMMS in this case. After wrestling with it for a while, I created this remix. It is the two different walk about themes from Dragon Warrior/Quest 2. I have some varying styles in this...I like them, but also I did it so some of those varied styles could be heard, and perhaps one of them might work for the entire track, as opposed to the contrasting genres heard here. I added the celebration theme for when you add your final party member between the two different themes, and also added a footstep sound that you hear in the game for when you enter/leave a town. Not sure if those are needed. I also don't know how well I EQ'd this. I "split the difference" between different speakers and devices for playback, as I was surprised how different the same track can sound from one set of speakers/device to another. Thank you for the constructive feedback ahead of time, and please take into consideration my extreme inexperience:) Edit 3-18-18 Latest version at the bottom of this post. Layered some things differently, changed some parameters on a couple instruments, and added a couple little personal touches:) Edit 3-21-18 Latest version at the bottom of this post once again, fixed a couple of sour notes that made themselves known at the end of the tune. Edit 3-25-18 Changed some EQ. Also altered some of reverb on some instruments, as suggested. I also changed the drum pattern in one section, I had 16th note kicks in the section in question; I decided that was overpowering and changed that to quarter note kicks. Edit 3-28-18 Changed some EQ again...I have two versions posted below. I have the one labeled Latest Edit, and I have one below that labeled Different EQ. If I could get some feedback on the EQ on those, and be told which one sounds better EQ-wise (not taking into consideration overall volume), that would be greatly appreciated:) Edit 4-4-18 I only have one version in this post now, and it's my latest edit. Advice was taken, and changed a couple things based on that, as well as a wee bit more EQ change, and a couple small changes that came to me in the moment. Thanks for your listens and comments!:) Edit 8-24-18 The latest post is a very beginning redo of the tune. I altered the intro part so it's all organ and choir, and am doing something completely different with the rest of the song. It's not a complete tune, just a taste of what I'm thinking. Very beginning of a work in progress, just looking for some feedback on what I've started before putting more work into it. I haven't done any production work on it or anything, just enough to show the feel of what I'm going for. Thanks for constructive feedback in advance!:) Edit 9-2-18 A couple changes....shortened the intro and slightly altered some parts, as well as adding just a little bit at the end:) Still a WIP, not even yet full length.Latest version at the bottom of this post. Edit 9-18-18 A kinda finished version at the bottom of this post, and also in a new post in this thread. Added a couple bits from other DW games. Might need some production cleanup....advice is very welcome on that:) Edit 9-22-18 Did some compression and EQ work, as well as fixing an error with a muted section/instrument. Edit 10-18-18 Slight EQ changes made. Originals Different take, 10-18-18
  8. This is an actual remix and I'm sharing it. It's a Final Fantasy themed mixture that took many creative liberties but I think the result is cool. Tell me what you guys think and what I can improve on. It's done in my signature style and I'm ready for criticism. Read the description in the link and Enjoy. 10. This is an attempted Trance remix of "Brinstar" (Metroid) for a contest. I tried to give the original an update my way (I have a rather unique style). After the contest I redid it and think it turned out good. Tell me what you guys think. Enjoy Track Here's a couple original pieces of mine

  13. Hi, I want to ask your support by liking (the video on the facebook link attached) my remix: Can-can ~Orpheus in The Party Mix~ so it can be featured in the upcoming Pump It Up Arcade instalment for the 20th Anniversary, thank you. P.S. I know mastering isn't my strong point but that issue has been solved by the great Jehezukiel. Edit: September 6. Voting has finished and Andamiro has closed the page, thank you everybody who voted and thanks for making possible a second place in popular vote!
  14. Hi guys i made this remix a while ago , have a listen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DPm56ZsA8s
  15. This was done about a week ago. I learned to play it on Piano early this week and decided to do another remix of it. I think this one turned out very nicely. A remix of Ray/Zena-Lan Hard Armor theme from Cyber Brawl. Femme Jazz Armour CG - Cupcom5
  16. So, I realize I haven't been on here in QUITE some time. However, I feel that I've honestly grown as a remixer/composer since the last time I've been here. Now would I say my work is submission worthy? Ehhh, not yet, but I'm on my way. This right here is my proudest remix yet. I mixed Ryu's Kobu and original themes together for a Marvel Vs. Capcom Overhaul series I'm doing. I have a Jedah one up, too but I'll put that up later. I'd def like some feedback and want to know what you guys think about it and I hope you all enjoy it!
  17. Hey all. I have a request. I have a song from Final Fantasy Legend III titled "Dungeon Theme" that I want so badly to be remixed. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/B4jjujNddrU I am requesting a metal remix. Something that starts off with the actual theme, Gameboy music and all, and progresses into metal, getting gradually heavier and more epic. This is a dream I've had for so long, yet, sadly, I possess not the talent for such an endeavor. If anyone could make my dream come true, I would be eternally grateful. Please let me know your thoughts. It's crazy, like I can hear it in my head, but I have no way to make it a reality. Thanks for any input. --Killjoy

  19. Hey guys, I haven't posted anything in a while but I wanted to get some feedback on this remix of mine. I was inspired after hearing the original song and wanted to create a synth version of it. I think it turned out pretty well but I feel like it might be missing the 'epic feel' of the original. Obviously the production quality for League of Legends in much higher but either way I wanted all of your opinions on how I could improve the piece. Thank you so much for listening! The Original song is here:
  20. I've been playing a lot of Grand Theft Auto lately and felt inspired to write this song. I'd love to hear what people think about the song and the guitar solo. Spotify
  21. So a friend of mine challenged me to remix this theme in the Goa / Psy Trance style. Well, I like a challenge. So, here is my first attempt at Goa Trance. Looking for feedback on the style, sound, eqing, everything. I'm new to this genre (and this site), so let me have it. Thanks! Forgot to add that... UPDATE: Link updated. See post for more info. UPDATE 2: Did a lot of fleshing out and some EQing. UPDATE 3: Added some more goodies and did a final master. I feel it's ready for submission. UPDATE 4: Did a complete redo of the mixing. I had to change some instruments to make things blend well. UPDATE 5: Fixed some stuff (the bassline most noticeably)and did another mastering attempt. I think it's ready to submit. FINAL UPDATE: Alright, so I did a final master and sent it off to be judged. Phew, I hope they enjoy it!

  23. Hey, I'm currently working on a new mix and would like your feedback on what I have so far. My Remix: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1P0uffVk8ynQ1Yk58Sb2BIgIDu2I17FHD Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5CnV7mnhbs Thanks for listening
  24. 2018 UPDATE: It is still in Musescore 2, but I'm taking a decisive turn towards an orchestral version instead of EDM. I hope to be able to finish it one of these days because this is taking me forever. Most of the mix is done. I'm stuck at the end due to a thing with the soundfont, and I was hoping to do a new section in between somewhere. https://soundcloud.com/user-227517766/folly-fire-2018-orchestral-update-wip I'm unsure about the transitions. At first they didn't sound right, but after a while I got used to it and I started to think its okay. I could use someone's fresh perspective on it. Previous UPDATE: FL Studio Version Hello, I'm a new user here and I would like to share a remix that I am working on with you guys and ask some basic feedback about the project in its current stage of development. Before jumping in, please consider the follow comments, to get an idea of where I am coming from and what I'm trying to accomplish. I am looking for feedback on some specific points. Tracks Used So I tried to combine a number of BGM's from the classic Gameboy game 'Volley Fire'. During development I noticed some easy to make connections with snippets from Starfox's Corneria theme, so I put those in as well. That gets us the following list: Stage Select (VF) Stage A (VF) Stage B (VF) Corneria (SF) I wanted to at least give the old source tunes a sound update and create a progressively expanding scene, adding more instruments, driven by a nice beat. I initially started playing around on the piano, going on my memory of the original tracks, but soon found out my memory was slightly off. But this created some nice variation that makes it a more true remix. What I'd Like Feedback On You should know that I have only started making music since november 2014. I have made a number of private compositions since, and this would be my second "completed" video game remix. I do not have professional music making software, but rather am using MuseScore2, which is a notation program. For that reason, I am not looking for feedback on the quality of sounds and instrument samples. I know these are lacking. Mastering is not too much of a concern at this point either, because the program isn't made to do that. Until I can invest in something like Fruity Loops, I want to limit the scope to other areas: Does the overall composition work? Do you think the transitions between sections are alright, or are they too sudden or weird? What would be a good way to transition them nicely so that it feels like a whole? Is the total length alright? Does the track have enough variety, keeping it interesting enough to listen to from beginning to end? What do you think of my use of the source material? Is it 'remixy' enough? I realize that sound quality and mastering might effect how you answers some of these questions, but hopefully this will be useful enough anyway. Thanks for taking the time to listen and respond! Looking forward to learning from you guys and becoming a better musician in the process. Remix Link Find the track on SoundCloud here: https://soundcloud.com/user-227517766/folly-fire-volley-fired-feedback-ready I'm naming it either "Folly Fire" or "Volley Fire'd", probably preferring the first.
