  1. Oh. Just East West Quantum Leap's Symphonic Choirs. It comes with a 'wordbuilder' plugin.

That plugin allows you to write in the words which your choirs will emulate. Pretty cool stuff.

It has a few different styles of writing it in... and one of those is Votox.

Votox is pretty much universal and I goddamned love it, however it's a massive learning curve.

ie. To write 'To see through the Earth' would be 'TO SE T!r!O T!E (or T!u alternatively) UrT!'

Pretty complex stuff. But it's fun for me and kinda second nature now. Haha

  2. if its going to be sheet music the musics better not be sheet

    I totally lol'd.

Also, I'm uploading it now. Brandon will have it in less than 10 minutes.

I'm sweating like a motherhugger. I ran home faster than Sonic.

Also, it's a WAV accompanied by Sheet Music... soooo that could be better than y'all expected.

EDIT: Sub'd with 5 minutes to go.

    brb heart attack

  3. Yeah. I don't understand all the theory hate.

Maybe because most of the people here are Aurally based...

I think it would be interesting to highlight the theory and WHY it sounds good.

That way people can feel clever in understanding their mixes, and actually apply theoretical ideas from an aural standpoint.

    Y'know?

Plus, I know Gario is a freaking monster at Theory.

He was a Composition Major like myself and if you got people like us to do that, we could find a fun middle ground between Theory and Aural.

    ...

    Now I sound pretentious. :/

  4. [*]She Stole His Heart... Then His Wallet: Lead viola sounds pretty artificial, and really brings down an otherwise solid mix. Interesting in a good way twists on the melodies, right in that sweet spot where recognizable meets novel. I'm guessing this is Lenna multiclassing into "Treasure Hunter" rather than "Thief?" Good transitions between the low- and high-energy sections, much better than my attempts to do the same.

Thanks man. I tried my best! :D

But yeah, it's actually just a solo violin.

I should really learn to play the damned thing so I can record stuff like that easier.

That, or just talk to all of the Violin majors at my university to help me out. :P

The problem being that I'm FAR too arrogant to ask for help! Haha.

  5. Or maybe something called "Source Breakdown" where someone with some music theory knowledge takes a look at some VGM track and does some critical analysis on it.

Man. I would LOVE to score study some VGM and put my theory to use. :D

I would love to see how abundant Neapolitan 6th chords are in VG composition.

Also, maybe rather than huge tutorials, you could have someone say their #1 mixing rule and compile them.

Or like, compare their beginnings with them currently to give motivation to the next wave of OCR contributors.

Just ideas, but yeah. I look forward to this.

  6. Not sure how that even helps you. Aside from the challenge of figuring out what one "job class" Sazh, Basch, or Hiryuu have, you'll have to be plenty creative to decide what, for instance, "blue mage music" even is without it just being Strago's theme.

Also I will laugh very hard if you end up facing both Kain and Freya.

I really think it helps because it can give me direction when I have no inspiration from the melodic material.

    Y'know?

    Also, Sazh would be a Synergist. ;) (can't say I'm wrong <3)

And I'd probably laugh too if I came up against both of them.

CAUSE IT WOULD MEAN I'D NEED TO WRITE TWOOOOOO BITCHIN' METAL TRACKS.

And I definitely have a sound tied to Blue Magic.

I don't mean to sound rude... but it's not like I devised my method to help anyone else.

Just sharing with the masses since that's sorta what we were doing presently.

I mean, you don't have to use it mang.
