I plan on having opera-ish vocals for Aria de Mezzo Carattere. 1 male, 1 female, just like the original. The primary notational changes will be in the accompaniment. I intend on using breakbeat/dnb elements.
Like I said, I'd love to contribute my voice. Just send me a message if you'd like me to so we can figure it out.

Well whatever the case, I still think we should get a private forum on KNGI
I need to post WIPS and discuss stuff about the song with people(especially if we are going to Collab). As well help others when and if applicable.
Especially if i'm going to get my arrangement 50% done by the 19th.
I'm not sure if i'm getting this, but generally if people are gonna do Aria it would make sense to have Consistency in every area.
When you think of the original soundtrack in the game. There are 0 inconsistencies in sound quality nor in production of the songs.
And I think that especially needs to hold true for Aria which in the game is a lot of songs melded into one giant masterpiece.
But if it's done well, the end result could be magnificent!
Though it's hard to beat this version, which is my favorite.
Yea, it's hard to beat The Black Mages at remixes. Either way, I know I'd want to be in on that if the arrangers decide to incorporate vocals (hint hint, Metal Man and Jason)

Maybe this is just me, but if we're planning to do vocals for the aria tracks, wouldn't it make sense to lump them all together so the styles match, as well as singers?

I loved the Ratchet and Clank series for its gameplay, but I sadly cannot remember any of its tunes..any suggestions?

I think you could do it!
Also, are those the series with your favorite music?
My favorite videogame soundtrack outside of Final Fantasy is hands down the original Ratchet & Clank game. It had sort of a synth meets big Brass band feel to it. Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are great tool.

I must concur with a lot of the responses here. You have an excellent voice. Ever considered doing an a cappella remix?
I doubt I'm talented enough to create a composition for one, but I could definitely give it a shot if someone could arrange it. :3

Thanks Archangel! Awesome quote, btw.
And Dom, I love any videogame with a good story. Final Fantasy is one, of course, as well as Ratchet And Clank. Dark Souls is my newest favorite game, but I'll play pretty much anything, except GTA, tbh.

Sondheim is the man! I wasn't really thinking that exact song but just an example of the kind of style
I'm only really familiar with into the woods & sunday in the park with george - what are some other good ones?
Sweeney Todd is my favorite, but there's also West Side Story, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, and Company are all well known.
-
You're good! Are you into Sondheim (you should be!)? I'd definitely be interested in some collabing some time in the near future. Maybe something like this?
Sondheim is my favorite Broadway composer!
And yea, that sounds pretty damn cool, though I think it might be out of my range.

Update: I finally got some new performance material on youtube that's more current than that ol video, and better quality. Enjoy!

Thumbs up! I'm digging the lead guitar feel; looking forward to seeing where it goes.
-
Oh, I cant remix for crap; just a singer who loves video games. :3
-
I'd love to help by contributing vocals if anyone needs them.
-
I have to say, my favorite Cid is the one from FFXII. Anyway, I'd love to help out by contributing vocals to anyone who needs it.
-
You've got a singer right here who's interested.
-
If anyone needs a singer for a track, I'd love to help out. :3
-
I'm a vocalist, and I'm already in love with this soundtrack. I look forward to working with anyone on this.
-
I think "Sonic vs Knuckles ~ North Wind" could also be a great vocal track; it even has a melody line built into the score that just sounds like singing. Just thought I'd share.

Looks like a fun album, though with 3 whole albums of Sonic music, I have a feeling that this might take a back seat to some of the others already in production with less attention on the site. Regardless, if anyone does pick up stuff from this album, and need a singer for it, I'm your man!
-
The reason we don't have any is because there is a Paper Mario album in the works; Flat Notes. Go check out the thread here: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31725

Also, you have the Ganondorf Battle link linking to Farewell to Hyrule.Oops. XD

Sounds awesome! If anyone needs vocals, feel free to message me.

For this particular project, I don't think so. The bosses of this project are quite specific in what they want. Vocals hasn't come up. I do have another, bigger video game that I've got all the music written for and it needs a female singer.
Fear not though, I have a whole pile of other projects on the horizon that would require a dude singer. Think you might be able to sing "eye of the tiger"?
As for the mixing thing. I've talked to Mak (congrats on getting a mix in the "to be posted" section!) about it and we'll see how it goes with him.
I'm fairly certain that song is within my range, so yea. Whenever you've got something, just leave me a message.

You wouldn't happen to need a vocalist, would you? :3
