  1. You know what I never actually listened to any of his stuff so... go nuts lol. But I definitely would recommend any of his tutorials.
  2. I think from a mixing and mastering stand point it's pretty freaking baller. But I have to agree with someone I think I saw say a thing maybe sort of- It's a bit repetitive. In my opinion I think a bit more variety is needed, maybe you need to think about the structure of the song so you know when you can have some leeway (i.e. like verses, choruses, breaks, etc.). Of course you don't HAVE to do that, but looking at the basics can help you artistically build from there. I think it's pretty baller though and you've done alot of good work, especially with the little things like the triplet *flams*?!2 on the melody synth (which by the way I don't know if I am cool with on the very simple triangle sound or not). But yeah, it's pretty sweet. But you should try to polish and work with it some more. IT IS GOOD BUT IT CAN BE SUPER DUPER OMEGA GOOD! *?!2 - I don't know if using the term flams on melodic instruments is actually musically correct. But I did it anyways.
  3. Thanks! It really is a powerful program, I'd recommend it any day. P.S. I'd recommended some tutorials too, 1. Zircon's Guide to something or another (can't remember the name) but it's here on the Workshop! 2. Warbeats.com 3. FL Studio Guru, which is actually imageline's own tutorials, pretty interesting.
  4. Totally! http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/474367 Don't just look at me though (cause to me I'm still like a bit above beginner) I'd recommend Zircon (who's an artist on here, and he's like one of the main OCREmix people in my opinion. He's got stuff on Youtube so go check it out. I'd also recommend Madeon (Youtube) and Deadmau5, they're both avid FL Studios users and their stuff is amazing! It's nice to see what FL Studios can do.
  5. Man I always hate getting shot down Good thing I'm not totally shooting you down To really sum it up though, I think your composition is pretty good and you vary it up pretty nicely and even change up Gerudo Valley in a nice way. I have to say though the style of the song doesn't feel like it knows itself too well. It's always nice to have a general idea of what you're trying to do when you start out, this really kind of feels like you just tried whatever which isn't necessarily bad but you should know exactly what feel you're going for (ex. dance, techno, jazzy maybe, hip hop). But on the production side I have to say it could be way better, your samples and soundfonts or whatever along with your use of FX isn't super duper and you could easily try to make things sound WAY more legit than this. I mean I also have FL Studios 10 Producer edition and I'm not trying to brag but if you listen to some of my stuff you might hear some strings or sliced loops that sound pretty sweet (and I mean... I suck). You should really try to harness the power of your DAW here, FL Studios is one of the most user-friendly and most powerful DAWs and it can take you anywhere your mind can think of. But seriously keep going, do some more, learn some more, get better, post it when you've polished it up and all that good stuff.
  6. Sweet guys that helped alot, I'll go ahead and try that!
  7. Yeah I was actually looking for midis and written music for the tunes but didn't find anything, only one site that had like 2 of the themes I needed but the version in Trials and Tribulations which is a noticeably different.
  8. My production expertise is definitely not on rock remixes lol, but I do have to say this sounds pretty sweet! I don't know exactly what it is though, but I think I enjoyed the intro and outro more than the middle with the solo. Something about the instruments felt like nothing really stood out style wise to me, maybe it's something with the drums or the bass not really feeling too fleshed out. The guitar is pretty sweet, but that too can do more than it is right now. I wish I could be more specific, but if I were to say I would try a bit more variation just to see what you can come up with. It's a jingle too so really you can tweak the chord progression also, and the bassline, etc. Hope this helps!
  9. Once the song kicked in I was like WOW THIS IS FANTASTIC AND CAPTURES THE AWESOMENESS OF THE THEME SO WILL Seriously though I've started to take a real liking to hip hop elements and this is a fantastic blend of hip hop with many other amazing genres. You sir have me downloadin'
  10. Yeah I'm just really organized lol. I know I still want to do this remix, but maybe as my first one it might be a little too much, I guess I'll keep working on it with yalls advice and see if it speeds the process up enough for me to think I can get it done decently fast.
  11. Thanks! Yeah I think I have flaws in my repetitive arrangements and composition skills, I really want to try and improve on my writing skills in particular. I hope remixing will kind of broaden my mind on how people often compose pieces.
  12. Oh wow that is a good idea, I'm pretty oblivious so I never had thought of that! Thanks I think I'll try that. But to be honest, I hate to sound like a quitter but I think I might end up holding this project off and try and do a much less difficult remix. Also since I'm a senior in High School and I'm gonna be graduating soon I could try and find a song that I think I could pour those emotions into and do a really sweet remix, and of course plan a much less daunting task lol.
  13. This is my latest completed and worked out song and I was just hoping for some feedback. I actually planned this one out in writing for like 2 months before I ended up finishing it, it was quite a bit of fun. It's a remix of one of my old songs I made 2 years ago that I still like. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/474367 Tell me if Newgrounds Audio Portal is okay too, I haven't posted too much on here.
  14. DUDE THE SYNTH AT 1:30 IS TOTALLY BALLER. But I have to say, in my opinion you should whenever its just the LFO talking bass thing you should try and have something take up a bit more of the high end, it kind of feels like too much mid and lows when it was just the drums and the bass. Though once the synth came in it was WAY cooler. And a little note I thought the snare was a bit over compressed for it to sound legit, it kind of sounds crammed. But otherwise it was VERY good, and I hope none of those bits of criticism was things that you haven't worked out yet cause it's early or something though lol.
  15. Hey guys, I actually have been fooling with FL Studios for 2 and a half years now and bought it around last summer. For the past two months I set off on doing a Phoenix Wright project going through 7 songs in order as they'd occur in the court scenes. I wrote the whole thing out over the past month and now I'm on to actually putting it together in FL and suddenly I've felt WAY OVER MY HEAD. I mean it takes me a lot longer than I thought it would to try and spot on replicate the notes from each song, I still haven't gotten past the first song (Trial), and I was hoping you guys might have some advice. I've been trying to switch back and forth between listening on my phone while writing on my computer but that hasn't done too well. And I can't minimize and use Youtube or anything since ASIO can't be interrupted. Any advice would help. Or encouragement Encouragement helps.
  16. Hey guys thanks for checking this out, but I'm still a beginner by my standards and I've only discovered OCRemix recently out of the 2 years I've been playing with Fruity Loops. I've only recently bought it and have been trying to get a more professional sound, and trying to improve my composition drastically. Please give me any feedback you can on this, I'm dying to learn more and get better. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/446131 Thanks again, Infenro
