Also yes this is kinda copy/pasted from my first project idea but who cares.

Games:The Fire Emblem series. At least have representation from every separate sub-series (Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, Blazing Sword and Sealed Sword, etc.). More than one game per sub-series is fine; I'd like to at least get 1 song per sub-series before we start doubling up, but I can make exceptions, especially for the less well-known games.

Concept:To this day, there is only 1 posted Fire Emblem Remix on OCR (yes I checked); I intend to change that. The music from these games is amazing, and if Smash Bros. has taught us anything, they need more attention than they're getting.
I attempted to start a FE remix project 2 whole years ago and limited it to just Blazing Sword, but the lack of available remixers forced it to die off. The extended scope allows for more games to be represented and at the same time attempt to make more people interested, but the concept is to still keep the project decently small, 1-2 tracks per sub-series. We are also OCR official now!

Style of music: Anything goes. Feel free to interpret the music any way you know how/want to; if someone were to make a really cool techno/breakbeat version of "Together We Ride," for example that's completely alright.

Also I meant to post this quite some time ago, but because the soundtrack of the game is not available for purchase anywhere, and multiple sites had it up for download for quite some time (most if not all have 404'd), I have a link to a download of the entire soundtrack here. I know that you can find the tracks on Youtube, but these all have the "official" names of the UOST that is found on Youtube currently. It will help if you are unfamiliar with the soundtrack: many songs are shared between games, but most songs after track 60 originated from the first game. Good luck and have fun.

[Tips on writing Guitar Solos?]

So... structuring is your problem?

I love playing music, and I'm new to composition (relatively). I also do not play guitar, I'm just trying to look at it from a guitar player's perspective. Part of the problem I'm sure is sample quality; whatever may not sound so good using samples might sound great if someone played it live.

I'm working on a piece for a submission (which still has a long way to go), and I am in need of a guitar solo. I was always planning on having a real person perform the lead guitar part, but I at least wanted to compose a guideline for the solo. Knowing this, I am having a difficult time getting a solid result; I have decent ideas, but they never seem to translate to the page very well. Do any guitar players/composers have any insight? Anything is appreciated, thanks!

BUT, HOLD ON: There's more. The song "Final Beacon" wasn't used in the first game, but the song "Prelude" was, and Prelude is in fact just the first 18 or so seconds of "Beacon" looped.

Hey, I understand completely, don't worry about it . The thing is, the place where the soundtrack is derived from is Golden sun 2, as that game had a sound test function which made the soundtrack able to be ripped more easily. I believe that the first people to post the soundtrack was Golden Sun Realm (via the Jason Effect), and I know for a fact that that is a rip from the second game. If I recall, about 90% of the songs used in the first game were used in the second, and the second added a bunch more songs (about the same amount as were shared by the first and the second).

EDIT: Just realized that this might be a problem, as there exists another account named that. I believe that I accidentally created that acount when I lost my username and password for this one. Now that i have it, that account is no longer necessary. Is there a way to delete it?

There it says that it's from the second game (it says which game each song was in to begin with). I then looked it up on youtube right now and saw that you're correct. Hey, I hate to be a downer (and I know this song was claimed, which makes it worse for me), but the song "final beacon" isn't in the first game. It's in the second game after you light mars lighthouse. I know this isn't a big deal, but IDK if you'd wanna change it since this is specific to the first game. The song that plays after the venus lighthouse is lit in GS1 (when sheba is holding onto felix) is actually Prox's theme from GS2

So, yeah, are all claims from unconfirmed people (people who you haven't contacted personally) tentative? Can we even claim tracks? If we do a track that's great and someone else has a different take, which version rules? Maybe an opportunity for a bonus track?

I really have to apologize; all I'm doing is asking questions, but new ones come after people post more. I really would like to be a part of the project, and I hope that that can be a reality.
