  1. It's got kind of a happy feel to it, and it's really catchy. I remember hearing it in one of the games on YoyoGames. Here's a link that has the music on the background, at 6:22
  2. I have a 24hr video that I want to cut up into smaller parts, but it won't open in Windows Live Movie Maker, probably because it is so large. Is there any other free program I can use to do this?
  3. Hey all, I'm looking for music from the following video games: -Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure -Big Bang Mini Does anyone know where I should look? Thanks!
  4. It's working now! For... some reason? I think it was one of my add-ons. Regardless, thanks guys :3
  5. Well, most people might not know how experienced someone is, what his goals are, what his progress is and how he learns new things. A mentor will get to know this information and because of that, he will be able to help and teach his mentee better. ... Also what's a compo
  6. ...and because I started this conversation I obviously get first pick!
  7. Magfest starts the 2nd of January right? I think I myself could really use a mentor, as it's very hard for me to take the first steps. :/
  8. Hey guys, Would it be a good idea to have a mentor system on this forum, so every newbie has one person they can ask questions about music composing? Or does anyone know a music forum where this is done? Please let me know what you think
  9. Hey all, I'm trying to post a topic in the Help subforum, but every time I try this I get a notification saying that my message is too short. It's definitely not though, I'm pretty sure it has more than 10 characters. Does anyone know why this is? I'm posting this using Internet Explorer because it won't work in Firefox. Thanks, YT
  10. Does anyone know of a good Android Melody App? I'd like to use it to remember melodies I come up with while I'm not at home.
  11. I'm afraid I misunderstood what a synthesizer actually is >_< To clarify: I'm going to need a synthesizer if I want to make music on my computer, correct? I was pointed to Reaper in the following topic: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43779 Can I use Reaper to make my music sound better, even though I don't want to record instruments?
  12. Direct Sound worked! I thought I'd need ASIO because it said so in the first post, thanks a ton. One little problem I have is that items in the demo were saved by extensions I don't have, and I can't tell which extensions they are :/ Also, I'm still not sure if this is the right program for me. I don't intend to record anything, and I'm also not too interested in techno-sound and synthesizers. Is this still the best program for me right now?
  13. Well, I managed to download the demo project and load it into Reaper, but there's no sound. Do I need a sound card for Reaper, even if I don't intend to record instruments? Some helpdesk guy told me I didn't :/ Also I was pointed to this program because I'm just getting started as a remixer/composer. I only have experience with Anvil Studio, so this is all confusing for me.
  14. I'm having some problems with Reaper. - First of all I can't find the demo project mentioned in the first post, or any demo project at all for that matter. - Also when I'm using Reaper I can't hear sound from YouTube videos. - I can't find the plugin that I installed for Reaper. - Lastly my demo isn't unlimited, it only lasts 60 days.
  15. By "helpful advice" do you mean like a tutorial in Reaper? Cause I could use that In case you're talking about AMT''s own little tutorial, well, I can always use that with the newer version, right? :/ Also, I'm really curious: What do you guys think of the concept? Do you think these songs go together well? Can you imagine them flowing in eachother naturally?
  16. Will It Blend? That is the question... My idea is blending two pieces of video game music from different games. The first is Traverse Town from Kingdom Hearts: And the second is New Bark Town from Pokémon GSC: Two great sounds that sound great together, right? Well it's very difficult for me This is what I have so far: I made it with Anvil Studio. What program should I use to improve or edit this? I'm just a beginner so this may be a good start. EDIT: What I think should change: - Less emphasis on percussion - Use the same instrument throughout the main melody Do you agree?
  17. Is there a place in my profile where I can find my own posts?
  18. I've just downloaded Studio One (because I am easily confused and could use an easy interface) but there's a problem: The second it has loaded, my computer seems to become completely muted. I can't hear anything in the program itself, and youtube vids for example won't have sound anymore either. If I close the program and restart the vid, the sound works fine again. Any ideas on what might cause this?
  19. I think I should have been clearer about what my goal was. I'm trying to get into a music school. I sent a few pieces of music I composed with Anvil Studio to some students. -One said that the track was too "quantized" and that I should use Reason or Cubase to process the midi file. -The other guy said that the sound was off and that I should use more of my own sounds. So it looks like I need a program that can easily take midi-music files and make them sound better, possibly with better-sounding sound sets. Are Reason and Cubase good programs for this? And do they have free trial versions which I can use? By the way, the most I want to spend is about 100 Euro's.
  20. I want to make music with my computer, but I'm not sure which program is best for me. There's a few points that I need the program to have, which are: 1. The program should be free or cheap. 2. I want to be able to compose with the Piano Roll Editor. 3. The program needs to work on a PC (with Windows 7, to be specific) 4. I want to be able to compose music with actual instruments and I want the emphasis to be less on techno music. I also tried entering this site: http://soundtempest.net/the-best-free-music-software/ But it won't work for me Any help with that? EDIT: I think I should have been clearer about what my goal was. 21. I know you encourage me to look on the internet for solutions first, but I have multiple problems and I don't want to create an account for every one of them if I want to ask for clarifications. I have a Samsung R530 with Windows 7 and Firefox. My problems: 1. I can't change my volume when I'm watching video's on youtube. I have to minimize the window or otherwise switch windows in order to change the volume. I use the Fn-button with one of the direction arrows to change the volume. 2. Some sites (such as wikia's and http://soundtempest.net/the-best-free-music-software/ which I got from a different topic on this forum) don't open the way they should. I get a site with a plain white background and no images whatsoever. The text in wikia's is lacking its tables and the font also seems to be gone. 3. I disabled something a little while ago, and now my computer doesn't seem to remember things like my passwords or whether I have marked a page as "safe". This should be easy to switch back, but I can't remember how. I hope you guys can help me
  22. That link won't work for me When I click it, a white webpage opens with Index of /the-best-free-music-software at the top, and then there's a link to Impactsoundworks.com. That's all
  23. No, I actually downloaded the whole album with utorrent, but at 84% or something it just said "screw it" and stopped. So I chose my faves from the ones I downloaded and downloaded those as mp3. Not sure if that made sense. Anyways, we're done here x)
