  1. Dear OCR community, I have a small Youtube channel which features VGM focused on old DOS or retro games (Lands of Lore, C. Keen, Major Stryker, etc., see this link). Since 2017 we (my buddy and I) have been working on a full album of original independent and alternative rock music Wuxpoint, and we have our debut album out today on all mainstream platforms. This album features invited independent artists, some instrumental tracks, and a mixture of influences like electronics, acid-jazz, funk and beyond. We heavily used iconic analog hardware devices (Mesa Boogie, Bogner, SSL 4000, Roland Space Echo, old Eventide units, etc.) throught all the production process, resulting in a "retro" sound. The Single preceding this album is currently on airplay on 9 community radios in 3 countries (US, FR, LUX). If you'd go for some VGM feeling, I'd suggest you first check the following tracks: A raindy day (ambient electro) Downtown trip (outrun-like, driving your car near the coastline with some twists) Uptown mystery (P&C mystery rock puzzle) Farewell (acid-jazz vibes, Keen stuff) Recycled minicycle (Boss fight in hardware mode, including different boss patterns) Enjoy it at the following links: 𝘚𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘺 https://open.spotify.com/artist/4lquyxfpbX8y75TuhJ9iV2 𝘋𝘦𝘦𝘻𝘦𝘳 https://www.deezer.com/fr/artist/156634612 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘦 https://music.apple.com/fr/artist/wuxpoint/1603565072 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘣𝘦 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnB-EzFSBR4od4werfrENqA Thanks dear OCR Community!
  2. Hi all, I finally finished the guitar/bass cover of Tuna Head theme from Thimbleweed Park. It was a hard work and I had bad times transcribing the partitions by ear :-/ There are so much arrangements, and layers of instruments in the OST that it was driving me crazy trying to get the whole thing done... There remain some mistakes, but anyway, hope you'll enjoy the song... To the talented muscians here: I'm really looking forward to hear covers of this great song, please!!!
  3. Thanks, indeed there are some nice ost in those retro PC games (not to mention Amiga ). Too bad that PC remakes are quite occasional, I would love to hear Lands of Lore, Novastorm, Pinball Fantaisies, Commander Keen, Descent, ... remakes! D00m, Monkey island are some exceptions to this... altought it mostly sounds as a cultural and sociological tribute to the very first iterations of modern popularized video game genres.
  4. Dear OC people, Here is a guitar/bass cover of the Sunshine Loan Compagny jazzy theme from the Simon the Sorcerer 2 video game. Okay, it's some old school stuff, a point & click adventure from the mid 90s, but it has a lot of great in-game BGMs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4o7YBAMRSwc Enjoy, Have a nice evening, or day, or morning, or ... Bests, G
  5. Hi there, Here is my latest cover of the Castle in the Darkness retro-styled game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiBv_NNJkxE It's the Dark Subterrane theme, as you can heard it in the Cave of Serpents lair I think. Thank you for reading G
  6. With these horrible ghosts, not to mention that you have to keep the emerald stuff to get ride of them or the Valean's cube, but they hit with quite a punch. i did not decide yet how to translate the ost to guitar, but I am sure there is plenty of room for interpretation and fun!
  7. Thanks! Among the other tracks I plan to cover there is, indeed, Castle Cimmeria (nice bass in this one) / The White Tower and Victor's Theme. These are plenty of nice melody lines, and they can rock for sure. I'm going to cover those accordingly to my agenda and to other covers: Novatorm, S.C.O.U.T., Fury of the furies, Simon the sorcerer 2, Commander Keen are other stuff .... damn there are a ton of great music other there! Glad you enjoyed the work.
  8. Thank you very much for this kind reply MrSneak. The composer (Frank Klepacki) did a wonderfull work on the OST of this game, they are really ambient. I previously did another cover of LOL here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbUap6D8n_0 in an "electro-like" approach. For the MP3 I should recommend 9xBuddy for download the song as a MP3 (there are plenty of other site but this one is cool): http://9xbuddy.com/download?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Do0ia-U4Q4aM (warning: scroll down then click on MP3 - 256 kbps for a nice quality soundtrack). Thanks
  9. Hi there! Here is another cover (gutiar / bass) of the fantastic, tremendous, utmost RPG game on PC that is ... *drumroll* ... Lands of Lore!!! *tadammmm + trompets* Ok I love this game (and other RPGs like baldur's gate ) and the sound track was reallly good. Enjoy the cover here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0ia-U4Q4aM Thank you! Jeff
  10. Argh no! too bad. :-/ Damn it! Both (5 & 6) are very similar in the design, that's why I always do the same stupid mistake.
  11. Hi there, Here is a tune of Commander Keen 6 on guitar (the theme is "Security Center"): Enjoy, and feel free to make comments, I'm listening to them
  12. Hi dear remixers, Here is a cover of the Upper Opinwood / Yvel woods theme in the Lands of Lore game: I wanted the theme to be a bit detuned and floating, like in the original version. Hope you'll like it! Feel free to put constructive criticism in the table so that wa can discuss the ups and flaws of the cover. Thank you
  13. Dear Eino First of all thank you for your constructive comments, and I must agree, pinball tunes of the 90's are reaaaaally great You're right, I'm definetely not a good sound engineer and am only able to re-write songs and play it on guitars. That's the big flaw. I'm looking forward to improve my sounds skills but that's not that easy, mixing different guitars at the same time is especially difficult for me for instance (I tried to pan them a bit, but hmmm it seems that's not sufficient enough). Moreover, I can't make the drums sound realistic or at last with that 90's mod-like sound. I'll look at other free drum vst if there are any. GS
  14. Hi all, I've just finished a guitar cover of the main theme of Pinball Fantaisies (1992): Comments about the cover would be very welcomed, feel free to post. GS
  15. Ladiiies and gentlemen, Yes! Another track from another mighty shooter from the mighty company Psygnosis. Again, the orginal track was used and I added some guitars in the original song: Please enjoy the show and feel free to make any comments. Jeff
