  1. I'm not trying to advertise the guy. I just really like this guy's music because it has so much variety. I just want to know what you guys think of Walt Ribeiro's work.

Again, I'm just sharing an artist I like, so I hope it's not too much trouble.

    -Skyrim "Dragonborn" https://soundcloud.com/fororchestra/skyrim-dragonborn-for-orchestra

-Bon Jovi "Livin' on a Prayer" https://soundcloud.com/fororchestra/bon-jovi-livin-on-a-prayer-for-orchestra

-Mega Man 2 "Dr. Wily" https://soundcloud.com/fororchestra/mega-man-2-dr-wily-for

-Final Fantasy "The Decisive Battle" https://soundcloud.com/fororchestra/final-fantasy-the-decisive

So how do you guys like this style of orchestra?

  2. Serious props to Diggi Dis for creating "Mamacitas in My Valley", it's a great remix and from what I've seen on the main site, is currently the most recent Gerudo Valley remix. After that, there's" Zelda Comes To Town" from Zelda 25, which focused more on the original Legend of Zelda Over-world theme.

I would say try this out: Lyrics.

I remember hearing a song that was like Gerudo Valley and it had lyrics (No I'm not talking about brentalfloss) about 6 years ago. I believe in you OverClocked ReMix. Make like Super Sm4sh Bros. and breathe new life into classic tracks. You've done it before and you can do it again. You have my full support no matter what the result.

  3. There are so many good Sonic tracks, and this is one of them (in my opinion).

Looking at housethegrate's remix from Project Chaos, I'm far from disappointed; it was spectacular.

I was however, a bit surprised by the Work in Progress tracks from Disc 3 as they were cut short and left unfinished. I wish I could've heard some of the end results. Such as "Water on the Dancefloor" by Akumajobelmont. (Disc 3-Track 09)

In a nutshell, I'd like to see someone take a new spin on this upbeat track. It'd be preferable to use the dance style envisioned in the work in progress Akumajobelmont had made, but any ideas are always welcomed.

  4. I know it's not my request, but I have to say that a Celtic take on the two popular songs would be a welcomed change of pace (maybe even adding in the well fitted Jib Jig with it's heavy violin use).

Oh snap! Dude, you just read my mind. I LOVED the Jib Jig remix from DKC2's OCR Soundtrack. That would make a beautiful addition to an already awesome medley

  5. Basically every artist will eventually develop an art/drawing style to call their own. I'm actually curious, which is why I want my fellow OCR Artists to come together (me included), settle on a popular (or not so popular) video gamer character to draw, and see how each one looks or turns out. If you're looking for a reward or something, if you live in the US I might be able to send some PayPal cash...

I hope this will be a fun learning experience for all of us. I may not be that good at making music, but I'm always looking to learn new things to use in my artwork.

Now I just need to figure out who the character will be...

  6. I'm curious, am I allowed to talk about characters that I want to see in this game? Because I definitely would want to see Captain Commando (His game was 2026 Final Fight) or Batsu Ichimonji from Rival Schools. The latter hasn't had an installment in his series forever.

It's like "Capcom makes a good fighting game series, runs out of ideas, and drops it." Prime examples of this are Rival Schools and Darkstalkers (not to mention Cyberbots)

If you've put in "Final Fight" characters (and snuck Ingrid from "Capcom Fighting Jam" into SFA3 Max for PSP), then at least Batsu shouldn't be a problem.

  7. Sorry I'm late to the party! So I used to own Majora's Mask on my Nintendo 64 a few years back, and I remember how there were only two files. I decided to be courteous and let my two older brothers play it first, so I could learn a thing or two from them....big mistake!!!

So my Majora's Mask memory is never getting to play it.

  8. Wow....so much has changed since I was last on here OwO;

Anyways, if you're familiar with Mega Man 4, then you know it's soundtrack is really underratred, almost like "Mega Man 5". Among the other popular tracks, like Pharoah Man, Dive Man, Skull Man, and the Cossack Stages, Ring Man's has always been one of my personal faves. As for genre, I was thinking maybe try some funk jazz with this track, see what can be done.

Seriously, if "brentalfloss" was able to do this with Crash Man's Stage from Mega Man 2 (https://brentalfloss.bandcamp.com/track/crash-man-funk-remix), then I firmly believe you guys can pull this off.

  9. So for a while now, I've been wanting to make a Smash Bros. Comic Book in order to commemorate the 16th (was going to be 15th) Anniversary of the franchise. I was going to have the comic be based off of the original N64 version's "Classic Mode"/"1P Game". Since no other character would work out of the original eight fighters would work, Mario will be the main character of this story. The only thing that will change as a result is that Mario's fourth opponent will be Luigi (only Luigi, so recolors don't make this story a hassle). I'm covered on art work, but I need help completing the script. It needs to be fleshed out with dialogue, character actions, and the like. For instance, I don't know if I want to make Master Hand "the child's hand" like many theories claim, or if I should make him a demi-god.

I might as well write out what I have thus far:

Basically Master Hand sets his sites on Earth, saying the world is filled with unique people, the most unique coming from here. He'll hold a tournament to decide which is worthy of his plans. It will be "Smashing".

Cut to Mario in Bowser's Castle (Old School Super Mario Bros. setup), Mario uses a fireball on Bowser as a diversion to jump over him and go for the axe. Suddenly, a portal opens and a voice echoes "You have been chosen"! Mario is consumed by this portal. It closes to reveal a "Smash Bros." logo before it disappears. Bowser is in disbelief.

Mario awakens to find himself on top of a castle (Hyrule Castle) and is greeted by Link, who takes the offensive ("Why're you in Hyrule?"); Small talk commences and right before Link is completely calm he goes berserk and his voice changes to a powerful voice (The Announcer). "The Announcer" (aka Master Hand), says that Mario and 10 other acclaimed heroes are part of a tournament (excluding Jigglypuff, except for maybe comic relief). After letting Link have control once more, Link says that the same thing happened to him, so the two fight.

(The battles will be in a Stamina Set-Up)

Fox, Yoshi, Pikachu, Samus, Kirby, The Polygon Team, 1/2 Master Hand, and 1/2 of DK aren't written yet.

In DK's case, I'll keep the three-against-one setup. The other two fighters being Ness and Captain Falcon.

In Master Hand's case, Mario is at the edge of his life and finds himself reverting to a doll-like state. But he feels the presence of the other fighters, giving him the strength he needs, bringing him out of his demise.

In the ending, Mario defeats Master Hand, and is ready to go home, when he hears a voice (a mother's voice) calling her child to dinner. A portal opens and Mario is taken inside. The child acknowledges his mother with a "I'll be right there", and it's revealed that the child was Master Hand, and all of the fighters were the toys he was playing with.

To show what some of my art looks like here are some links (Gotta' remember I'm a high school junior, and more than half of these projects were drawn 95% with a mouse):

So is anyone interested in helping me make this thing? I'll be sure to credit anyone who helps me produce this.

  10. He has this remix of Master Hand from Smash 64; of course it's several years old, but still:

"This is a remix/rearrangement of the Master Hand battle theme from the first Super Smash Bros. game for the Nintendo 64. I want to turn this song in to OverClocked Remix, but I also want to be sure that it is heard as an OCR song before submitting it."

See his full description in the link above.

So I don't know, maybe if he revamps this track, he should submit something. :/

  11. Nice tunes.

If you think someone should be on OC ReMix, then you ask them to submit. We don't do targeted solicitation/talent scouting in any significant way.

I understand that. I just like sharing this music with my friends at my high school. So I figured I'd share it on this forum for the listeners who haven't heard this guy.

  12. Everyone was frustrated by this right? We all got so excited, just to find out this DLC was fake. Here's my reasoning on why he should be DLC in Smash:

    1) Ubisoft is a big company, and I mean big! They released Rayman, Beyond Good and Evil, (do I need to mention) Assassin's Creed(?). Surely they'd put in something more than a trophy right? Right?

    2) Rayman is a trophy in the game. Meaning Nintendo will already have a model to work off of. Seriously, not that hard.

    3) I know Mewtwo is cool and all, but what's the point of having DLC if it's just going to be ONE character?

    4) This year marks Rayman's 20th Anniversary. I at least want to see a re-release of Rayman 3 or him as a DLC fighter in Smash if not a new character all together.

    5) Rayman Legends. I'm pretty sure it sold the most units on Wii U (because of the Game Pad). So yeah...

What do you guys think? I would be so happy if Rayman was in Super Smash Bros. as a playable fighter. I'd die with no regrets.

  13. Anyone interested in making a dubstep cover of this track? It's a popular song that everyone knows and loves. I've seen too many orchestrated variations of it; so many that it's become tedious.()

I would seriously love to see this song get the dubstep treatment. Or anything besides orchestra...seriously...:banghead:

  14. If you know who this guy is, then you might also think he'd make a great addition to OverClocked ReMix. His music is great, and I just like to listen to it. Such as his "Beware the Forest Mushrooms" cover (Super Mario RPG) [

    ]

or his recent collaboration with Insaneintherainmusic and 8BitBrigadier [

    ]

Seriously this jazz medley of "Conker's Bad Fur Day" is pleasant for your ear-holes. Not to mention the Great Mighty Scat (I think you'd call the "Great Mighty Poo" that too after you heard him scatting like Ella Fitzgerald). So yeah, this thread is just me being a fan-boy of sorts.

  15. The Zone Runner's take on this has to be one of my faves, but I'd like to see what else can be done with this. Perhaps an Ice Cap (Sonic 3) and Diamond Dust crosssover?

This is referring to the Sega Genesis version of the track. Not the Sega Saturn version.

  16. Neblix, I agree it has a better story than MMZX, but that's because MMZ ended. its one of the reasons I would not like to see more MMZ because those four games are well contained.

    WOAH.

WOA WOA WOA HOLD UP NOW.

    WOAH.

I'm not a big fan but someone here has to love it.

That would be me *puts head down* I just really like all of the old characters and some of the old tunes.
