  1. Let's keep things mature here now. Let's not make subtle jabs like children. We're all grown men here and shouldn't have to resort to that. Come on now . It's like I said. It is what is man. It works for you but not for me. It's whatever. Let's again look at the facts. Sampletank 3 with certain samples will lag when I try to adjust the piano roll. I recently made a project that was 1GB[Out of my 8GB ram] and couldn't finish it because the CPU usage [in FL Studio, not my CPU] was unbearable. This is with the maximum Asio4All buffer with all multi-threaded options enabled. I've said this over and over but people seem to keep ignoring that. If you have nothing better say to say than "It works for me, but not for you haha!", then do not reply. I don't want to hear it. If you're just going to blame my computer [with a quad core i5]; which works perfectly fine outside of FL Studio, I don't want to hear it. If you're just going to troll[You know who you are]; again, you're wasting your time. Unless you have a solution to FL Studio only using 1 core with Sampletank 3 or can recommend a better DAW; you're wasting your time replying.
  2. It is what it is. At the end of the day; I'm going to switch DAW's. For whatever reason FL Studio struggles to run Sampletank 3 with a lot of orchestral samples loaded up. You can blame my set up all you want; but the fact is that I ONLY have these problems in FL Studio. I have great ideas; but the stuttering [despite only using one core of the CPU and less than 1gb ram] with a max ASIO buffer in FL Studio holds me back.
  3. Yes, but what? My computer works fine outside of FL Studio. No slowdowns or anything. I only have audio problems in FL Studio when it uses a lot of ram. The fact is, FL Studio lags for me even though I have a decent CPU. When I have projects with a lot of ram there will be a random pop. This is with resampling set to 2-point linear. It uses less than 1 core of the CPU. My PC works great outside of FL Studio so it is NOT my computer. Perhaps I'll just use FL Studio for midi sequencing and add VSTs in other programs.
  4. 1. The latest one. FL Studio 12.2 64-bit. But I have the same problems even in 11. 2. Nope. 3. Built-in. 4. Less than 25% on my actual CPU, but FL reports near 100%. 5. i5 3570k@3.5ghz, a fairly current quad core. 6. Sampletank 3 is on the same drive. Even with ASIO4all turned up to the max buffer; it will still make a random popping noise on large projects.
  5. Thanks I might check out Cubase. My main problem with FL Studio is it can't seem to handle projects with a lot of ram. If I have Sampletank 3 loaded with some of the larger samples; a project can easily take up 3GB of ram. But when projects take a lot of memory; FL Studio seems to pop or crackle. Regardless of how much memory you have free. I might try the ASIO drivers and see if that helps. But if that doesn't work; I'll definitely be looking elsewhere. I just want a DAW that can handle ram and CPU intensive projects without popping or crackling.
  6. As much as I love FL Studio; it just seems incapable of handling a lot of modern VSTs well. I have 8gb of ram, a 3.5ghz quad core and still get audio issues like popping. It seems like FL Studio is just incapable of using a lot of ram without popping or crackling problems. It also stutters despite using only 1 core of the CPU. That being said, can you guys suggest a DAW to me that is more capable of using a multithreaded CPU and lots of ram?
  7. Hey, YoungProdigy here. While I was messing around with Sampletank 3 in FL Studio I wrote "Disco Madness". You can download it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/young-prodigy-disco-madness
  8. Nice remix man. The playing and the arrangement are pretty good. I think the only critique I could give is the drums sound pretty fake. They sound like they have little to no velocity variation. This is especially a problem with the hi-hats and ride cymbals. Other than that though, this is a great remix. Keep it up!
  9. Pretty good work. It kind of reminds me of Mega Man Battle Network.
  10. Really wouldn't count this as a remix. It sounds like you took the midi file and put it through VSTs.
  11. Hey, YoungProdigy here. Just finished Dance Party. I would describe "Dance Party" as a song inspired by modern electronic dance music. You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/young-prodigy-dance-party
  12. Nice song. It reminds me of something you might hear in a PS2 era 3d fighting game. Keep it up!
  13. Hey, YoungProdigy here. I recently completed "Carnival", a latin-inspired beat. It combines elements of traditional Salsa with a techno beat. You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/young-prodigy-carnival
  14. Hey, YoungProdigy here. Just completed "Jazzy". I would best describe the song as funk with a jazzy chord progression. You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/young-prodigy-jazzy
  15. It was mainly to add depth. To give the feeling that the percussion are being played behind the rest of the instruments. However, I probably will tone down the reverb on the percussion.
  16. Thanks for the criticism timaeus222. I took some of your advice and updated the remix.. You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/mega-man-battle-network-battle-theme-latin-remix-updated I tried to add better dynamics to the piano and organ. I also added some syncopation to the tambourine.
  17. Updated the remix: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/mega-man-battle-network-battle-theme-latin-remix
  18. Well honestly I was going for a percussion ensemble sound rather than a drumkit sound. I did add some timbales though in this latest WIP. You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/battle-network-wip2
  19. Hey guys, YoungProdigy here. I'm currently working a Latin remix of the Mega Man Battle Network Battle Theme. With this remix; I was trying to for a Steely Dan vibe. It's pretty much finished. You can listen to the source song here: You can listen to my remix here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/mega-man-battle-network-battle-theme-latin-remix-updated
  20. Thanks I'll probably try to change velocities by hand from now on. Currently I've been using a velocity randomizer; which as you stated, doesn't always come off as realistic. I'll also try to add more vibrato and pitch bends to my lead synths to give them more expression.
  21. Thanks for the critique. But as far as the drums go I wasn't really going for realism. Even with that being said though, I agree that the clap could use more velocity variation. The strings, hi-hat and clean guitar do currently have velocity variation. But I might try to add more variations in the velocities. I also agree that the synth could have more expression. Other than vibrato, what else could I do to add expression to it.
  22. Hey, YoungProdigy here. Just finished "Discotown" a new disco track by me. You can listen to it and download it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic As always critique is welcome.
  23. Hey, Electrifiedkeys; I listened to your remix. It's a good start, but there's a lot that could be improved. The drums in this mix are very midi like, This is because there's almost no dynamic changes. So I would add some velocity variation to add some more realistic dynamics to the drums. In FL Studio 11 you can do this by going to Files --> Tools --> Randomization. Once in the Randomization window, you can randomize the velocities of every note to your liking. This will not only help your drums sound more realistic; but it will help other instruments as well. The guitar is pretty unrealistic too. I realize guitar is very hard to emulate; but you can definitely make it sound more convincing in FL Studio. I assume you're using FL Slayer for the guitar right? That's probably not going to give the best results. What would work better would be to put one of the clean guitar samples from FL Studio through an amp simulator like Guitar Rig or Amplitube 3. Both of them have free versions. Also, you can find some free guitar sample libraries here. Putting these sample libraries through an amp sim might also wield good results: http://earmonk.com/free-sample-libraries/ Also, real guitar players will often slide up or down to notes. You can emulate this using pitch bending. Real guitarists will also use vibrato; which is when the pitch of a note goes up and down continuously. You can also emulate this using pitch bend. Velocity randomization will also help make the guitar more convincing. Arrangement-wise after 1:09; the song is pretty much cut and paste. I would try to add some variation to the melody and drums.
  24. Hey, YoungProdigy here. I just finished "Street Party"; a 90's inspired track. You can listen to it here: https://soundcloud.com/youngprodigymusic/young-prodigy-street-party As always, critique is welcome.
