@TheChargingRhino - Thanks for keeping the thread active and poking me form time to time.  I did get your resubmitted track, I just haven't gotten to listening to it yet. I'll give you a PM with a review when I can.
@CmacProduction - I need to PM you with a review - there are a few things I'd like to go over before we call this done. I will be posting your track to the WIP Spreadsheet so folks can get a listen (which I will send a link to as well), and I'll see if I can get some volunteers to review your mix.
@Thirdkoopa - Could you please send me what you have on that arrangement when you can?

Just a reminder for everyone to NOT post WIPs or album tracks to the main thread. There is a Discord group, an IM chat over the WIP spreadsheet, or PMs if you want to - we still want to keep the cat in the bag for now!
I know I am being slow, but in the meantime, if you contact me directly, I will respond. Once again, just because I'm being quiet doesn't mean nothing is happening - keep working on those tracks!

On topic with this, I blasted out some reviews today, typos and all, but my message limit is 5 per day. So if someone WANTS me to review their new wip, let me know and I'll do it next.

     Just wanted to bring a quick update for anyone interested. I've been a bit inactive like a lot of you due to normal work/relationship things that get in the way. I've also recently upgraded my Studio One DAW which BROKE my Star Fox tracks. Well I finally got enough motivation & time to sit down and reinstall the old version and all my licenses FINALLY got it back to working condition! I'm doing some editing tonight and will hopefully have a new WIP for people to judge within a few days. Please get in my inbox if I don't, as the pressure will help me finish something in time. A little bit of effort ended with a lot of progress for me, so I urge anyone struggling with time or frustration - let me (or anyone else) know if we can help. Even if its just a reminder of what can be accomplished. Thanks everyone, I'm going to continue working now.

More over posting this out of curiosity on the feedback more than anything. I wouldn't consider myself a pro-level by any means but it's still nice to get some feedback and criticism from people who know their stuff every now and then haha. Anyway, this is a ska/punk/rock/whathaveyou remix of ASGORE from Undertale. It was kinda just a fun personal project I did nearly a year ago and wanted to make an ASGORE remix that wasn't just straight up metal or orchestral and so forth. Hoping the reviews on it give me some more umph to make some jams again since, well, you know how it goes sometimes. (If I need to post at a different upload site just lemme know)

Boost that a db or two, or fiddle with eqing the leads a bit lower in volume. The highest highs are a bit piercing I'm guessing around the 2 khz -5 khz range and that overwhelms the rest of the track. I like to listen to my music loud and I'm not able in this case. It's mostly a case of variation and balancing issues right now so it seems close to being done.

Chaotic as ever, H0us3C0rP3! I'm glad you posted this here finally. I agree with you needing a transition from the piano melody into the Brinstar theme. You have multiple drops in this piece, so it wouldn't be out of the question to try making the transition more abrupt and straight into the synths, maybe with a heavy bass underneath for a change in the lead just so that it's not the same as the beginning. The fade out transition does not work for me. The other thing I noticed every time I listened was at 1:29 I really enjoyed the off-drumbeat and snare matching the heavy bass buildup, but it fell off with the high note that ended it at 1:32. It's not so much the sample, but the tone of it that threw me off and made me feel like it fell short. I have no other issues with this though, as I've said, I listened to it multiple times in the car. It's quite enjoyable.

Hey, just wanted to say how much I dig this remix. I actually really like the chaotic 'glitchy' sound with certain notes jumping harmonics. It feels like it's blended well with the low bass always being consistent and keeping the track intact. My only criticism would be correcting the chords starting at 1:06, as Gario mentioned. I'm not too familiar with composing in this genre, but I did enjoy listening to your track, and that's the point right?

     That is amazing work! This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to find on OCRemix. Audacity really did bring out the volume on my mix that I couldn't find on StudioOne. So with that, I attempted the same process on another piece with similar instruments and mixing. I don't want to get too off-topic or merge posts but I had some questions about what you did. So for one, if you see a large spike in audio only for a brief millisecond, is there an easier way of tracking the source down other than importing the mix with a suspect instrument muted to see if the spike is still there, and repeating this process until you find the culprit? Also, would it ever be beneficial to use both soft and hard limiting in between amplifications, or is it always cleaner to just choose one? I wasn't aware Audacity had these extra tools available, so this is a whole new world opened up for me. For that I'm deeply appreciative.

Okay, so I've pushed the leads up a bit further so they cut through the rhythm guitars, and made a few eq cuts all around like you said. I've also uploaded it as a WAV file in case anyone wanted to take a stab at raising the level. I downloaded Audacity to try it myself later, but I haven't used the program in ages so it won't be beneficial until I read up on it a bit. I'm going to be posting another project shortly that I reworked with these tips, but I think I'm on the right track now, so thank you!
