  1. Finally opened my special edition the other day. The art book is actually really cool. It's full size this time. I'm about 8 hours in now. Still relatively early, but I'm loving it. Friend Code is 3050 7587 3777. I added Callas. Anyone else want to be friends just let me know. I never finished BD, but I have a feeling I will finish this one. My favorite part is how easy and painless grinding is now. You can set your attacks to auto execute and then encounters to +100% and stand right next to the Adventurer that will heal your whole party. It's awesome. Also love how you can primarily fight just using your left hand with the D-pad and left trigger to confirm choices.

  2. Has anyone experienced any motion sickness while playing Killzone SF? I was watching my brother play it and got very nauseous. I've never had that from any FPS before. It might have been his 70+ inch television set, which in not used to. It was an odd experience.

  3. I'm to the point now that actually playing games is the least of how I interact with videogames. I read gaming news sites religiously, and follow the industry pretty closely. I used to listen to 10 or 15 gaming podcasts a week, but now I can't do that (new job). I very much love hearing passionate gamers talk about games. I think as I get older I need convincing that gaming is still relevant and exciting. These days I'm more excited that I got an awesome new shower head than all the E3 news this week. Yeah, I'm pretty jaded these days.

  4. After you beat the final boss, it lets you save. Loading that save places you right before the final chapter; though any level-ups gained during that battle are retained, story progress is not. This allows you to fight teams that appear on the world map (be it StreetPass, SpotPass, or Risen), work on supports, play DLC, or anything else you were already able to do.

Is there a way to make Risen appear on the map? Would love more random encounters, it seems pretty sparse.

  5. Because a lot of people have no idea how difficult it is to get a good-looking recording from a game without expensive equipment and/or technical inclination.

It's a cool idea. I don't know how practical it is though. Like you said, it eliminates the need for expensive 3rd party equipment for recording gameplay, which is awesome.

In the Halo series, it's a cool novelty to pick out your coolest kills and send them to friends. I think I only messed with it in Halo 3, and never since. Uncharted 2 had that broadcast trophies to your twitter feed thing, which it sounds sorta like one of the social features that will be implemented into the OS its self. I don't know if that's what I want from a system, but that's probably just me being an old man.

The biggest game changer for me is being able to play something as soon as you start downloading.

  6. I haven't played this in awhile, tried to update through the client yesterday and it wouldn't start. Having leveled to 30, I can say that it is the sequel to PSO you've always wanted. It's so nostalgic. I was hoping the English version would be out by now.

Here's a few screenshots of my time with the game.

  7. I'm really enjoying this game. I started about a month ago, the day they announced it was going F2P. So I'm a noob, but damn if i didn't get sucked in immediately. Combat's really fun. Historically I have only ever played warrior/sword class characters in games, but I'm really loving sorcerer. Plus, we got Tron mounts: TERA_ScreenShot_20130207_084525-1.png

  8. Fun fact: EB broke street date and I've had the game for a week now. On chapter 9, playing Normal Casual (commence heckling) and allies STILL die with disturbing regularity. Sumia and Miriel get it the worst for some reason.

My Gamestop can't seem to even get it in stock, I was told Friday at the earliest. I've seen it a few other places, but I have a Gift Card I got for X-mas, so I'll wait it out.

  9. I like and dislike Drippy all at once. I like the idea of his voice more than hearing it. I'm not that far into the game, 2-3 hours. It bothers me how zoomed out the world map is, maybe just because I've been playing a lot of Tera lately and the camera is very customizable. I look forward to playing it more when I get some time. It's very beautiful, and i love the soundtrack. I saw a post on Kotaku or somewhere complaining about the battle music, I found it delightful.

  10. here's' a good question for everyone. what do you think about full titles for download? i doubt anyone thinks it's a bad thing, but do you see it as something you would want to do? i personally feel like i want the physical product still, but maybe i'm just old fashioned.

    what are people's thoughts?

Depends on the platform for me. For 3DS I absolutely want physical media. For Vita I only do Digital. I guess it just has more to do with the OS. With the Vita it feels like an Iphone, except when you hit a game bubble when the cart is not in it says "insert game to continue". With the 3DS there aren't tiles for every game you play, so it doesn't bother me at all. I know that's a weird psychological nitpicky thing. Ehhh.. works for me.

  11. I got my Persona 4 Solid Gold Premium edition today. Haven't fired up the game yet. The case is cool, but sorta bulky. It's not as form fitting as I was hoping. You need to use it with the Vita shell it comes with, and even then when it's closed the Vita has room to flop around inside horizontally. The Premium edition just comes with a normal retail box inside. I sold retail copy today on Amazon and downloaded it digitally. I don't see myself using the stickers or the skin it came with.

  12. I believe it comes out next month.

Isn't Seth Killian the guy who's actually lead designer for this game? I say we blame him, damn it! :<

I fully expected the game to have ring-outs...Seems to me that they are trying to make it less like Smash Bros by removing things that make Smash Bros great instead of adding and expanding upon the overall Smash Bros formula.

There are supposed to be a lot of hardcore fighting game pros on the dev team. It's supposed to be crazy balanced, is what I've been hearing. The level of polish in the beta didn't match the hype from the press and developers (big surprise). I also remember reading that in high level play you typically don't use level 3 supers at all, that it's more effective to just use your level one as soon as you get it. Kinda makes sense to maximize your number of knockouts. I just didn't like the game. I was excited since it's cross buy on Vita and Ps3, and I could always use more Vita games.

  13. I was expecting to like it more. The characters in the beta are mostly unappealing to me aesthetically. I mostly used Kratos and Radec. Radec was my favorite. My interest in the game has plummeted. It didn't play particularly well, and honestly, even though there was a brief tutorial, I felt like I was playing it wrong. Maybe the actual release will have more training videos or something. I only played it on Vita.

  14. I fucking hate voice chat, unless I am playing with my friends. Which honestly, is very rare for me these days. The fact that it's so complicated on Wii U is kind of baffling.

Since the launch is coming soon, have they revealed anything new on "gamertag" or friend code online handle news? Are there friend codes? I know the online revolves around the Miiverse thing, but I'm not entirely clear how the online is going to work overall.
