Wow, this is a really unique concept, way to step outside of the box
Sub this now!
Um, you can't submit anything anymore. Why would you need to, with the Remixanator?

My long sought dream has finally been realized! I have done an electronica mix of Schala's theme! I don't like to brag, but I must say my style is quite unique and the Remixanator picked up on that instantly. This is the tool of Musical Gods!

Grattis på födelsedagen!
That's Swedish for "Go to hell", in polite form.
Just kidding.

Yeah, that's true. I guess both him and Sakaguchi gave it their all with this game. I didn't really like this game, compared to the others in the series, but the music was stellar at least, so this project has a really good foundation, and with the talents of OCR in the mix, it should really end up being just as amazing. Wish I could help.

This might just be nitpicking, but the first post states that the FFIX soundtrack is said to be Uematsu's favorite in the series, but I have always heard that it was the FFVIII soundtrack he liked the most. This was also said during one of the Distant Worlds concerts, which he was attending. This was probably the reason why FFVIII was the most represented game at that concert.
However, I do always hear/read that FFIX is Hironobu Sakaguchi's favorite game of the series.
[/nitpick]

First of all, I feel the need to defend Silent Hill: Origins, as I thought it was a great game. It managed to frighten me, even though it was handheld, and the locations in the game were amazing (especially the sanitarium) and the overall feel of the game was very much Silent Hill. Homecoming failed me in these aspects. The story was exciting, and I didn't mind the combat system. And about him being able to use and carry TVs and stuff, the only game where such physics DIDN'T exist, was SH4. I mean, carrying around the great knife in SH2? And the expendable weapons seemed like a good idea to me. That actually worked pretty well in SH4, although I managed to break most of my weapons. Atleast this time I didn't have to go back to my apartment to get more weapons all the time.
Second, about Akira Yamaoka leaving Konami, I just have one thing to say. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Third, I'm excited about Shattered Memories (although I'd kind of forgotten about it until recently), and I'm going to miss the combat and the classic statement "Huh, radio. What's going on with that radio." but if there's puzzles galore, then I'm in!

He can always write the script from prison. They are allowed pen and paper, aren't they?

I think Captain Pike's influence as a high ranking official + his admiration for James' father did it.
Hopefully next time around, we'll see the brainier version that is a Star Trek staple. I think the point of this movie was to quickly move it forward so that they establish a new continuity. They could have added some more stuff (especially Nero's past and the exact happenings of the original-universe, the red liquid, old-spock), but I can imagine that kind of movie could run for 3 hours plus..
That's what this was for: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_trek_countdown

That was awesome.
Truly awesome!

This morning the verdict of the trial against the founders of the torrent site, The Pirate Bay, were sentenced to 1 year of prison and a fine of about 30 million Swedish kronor (~$3,5 million). This won't affect the torrent tracker though, as they have moved their servers abroad and they have several other people working with it anyways.

This is another big blow to filesharing in Sweden, as the first of this month witnessed a new law taking effect, called IPRED, which gives record companies and others who are having their material illegally shared the means to get the IP number of ANY person in the country who have been sharing illegally. They can then send a fine to that person directly, or a threat to drag them to court.
This is all very scary. What will happen to the internets?

So for those who asked where the game comes from, no, it's actually not based on the board game Khet. That's an easy assumption to make, since the similarities are hard to miss. It's actually based on an old indie game from the 80's called Laser Chess:
I used to play that as a kid, on my old 386 computer! Wow, that was like 15 years ago or something. I loved that game! If I ever get an iPhone, I will definitely get this game. Kudos!

I was at the world premiere of this tour, in Stockholm, and the concert blew me away. It's really something you should go see, even if you're not an FF fan. I highly recommend it!

I have a VISA debit card, that I pay a yearly fee just to possess, but that sum is so small it's not even noticeable (about $15 every year). I guess the fee might be bigger if it's a credit card...
From all the news I've seen, heard and read the US seem to be one of the countries who are worst off in this world wide financial crisis. Are all these loans/debts and need for credit scores the biggest reasons for this?
-
I don't really know anything at all about American credit policies, but where I live having used no credit cards is a GOOD thing. The more you use them, the smaller the chance is that you might get a big loan for a house. To me that feels more logical, but I can see both systems working. Using credit here is very rare, and I can't understand how it is to always have debt. And from what I've heard, a lot of people actually use credit for everything, and then just pay back a small amount of it? How does the credit card companies survive on this? Or is it just a false rumor?
I'm just curious.

Heh well, Eino, I don't know if it's right for me to subject Brad to the finger-breaking stylings that might entail, but then again, I like seeing Brad struggle
Brad - It'll be within the vibe, and DEFINITELY not Kenny G style. Think more Pink Floyd-ish, maybe a bit more aggressive than that even. It'll be fun and not boring, that I can guarantee you.
Also, another quick question that comes to mind - is there a policy on using SFX from the original games in these mixes? Not ripping any musical FX or the like, but sounds like the swords and whatnot.
There are several remixes on this site that already use SFX from the games, for example the Zelda 64 song Anthem of a Misguided Youth by chthonic. So it should be alright.

Haha, they were pretty good.
Another brilliant comic is this one:

Such a simple idea, yet so funny!

I still prefer my Opera 10 alpha (super fastness!), but Safari is really climbing my favorites list with this update. I'm looking forward to testing CSS3 stuff. I won't be using it in my developing though, since cross-browser compliance is still a virtue of mine. But maybe I'll add some user agent checks, and give safari 4-users some easter eggs...
EDIT: Also nice to see Safari 4 as the second browser I've ever seen pass the Acid3 test with a 100% score (Opera 10 does this).

I always thought it was the FLAMES from the sword that made it hurt more.
Actually, as someone explained earlier, the gunblade has a muzzle which is a bit impractical, but can be used if mastered. You see, if you slash and then in the middle of it fire the gun, it should technically hit the opponent. This is what the gunblade does, or should do at least. I thought it seemed obvious at first, but at the very least it's plausible.
Here a some other examples of real gunblades:

Also, the gunblade is badass. I want one.

I tried the bigger file as well, but with annoying results. This time it had time to climb, but it just kept on climbing and it would probably have gone higher if it had been an even bigger file.
1. Sweden
2. 2,6 mb/s
3. 620 kb/s (just tried a couple of ocr mirrors)
-
At work:
1. Sweden
2. 2,2 mb/s
3. 450 kb/s
Haven't tried at home yet, but those right there are good speeds. Great with another mirror!

Haven't heard this from anyone else and can't repeat it myself. Just in the forums, or everywhere? Could be cache or ISP related, i.e. specific to you...
Yeah, must have been cache related, if I was the only one who experienced it. It's gone now though, so all is well. Keep up the good work!

The User CP says I have 5 new notifications which are very old private messages that are still in my box. Not anything major, just a little inconvienent. Oh, my actual new PM count is what it is supposed to be.
I get the same thing. Also, everything on OCR is very slooooooooow for me suddenly. I can hardly load a page completely.
-
Well, teh gaming engine is pretty much complete, we just need to make some levels, add some more graphics and music, and then it's done. So, on a percentage... 70% done. I won't post the link to the game publicly though, but I can show it to people who PM me.
Metroid Prime - Glaciers Never Sleep
in Post Your Game ReMixes!

This thread is horribly inactive! This mix needs to be finished, as OCR needs more Metroid Prime love!
