I cheated during the Killer Croc 'fight'. Finding out you could use the Batline to skip a ton of running around in that area was the best discovery I made in that game.

It's a wonder they keep on investing in a world and universe and set of characters that are in no way interesting or compelling.
My guess is, FFXIII was so expensive to make, that they're wanting to reuse it's assets as much as possible.
I didn't bother with XIII-2 personally, not after getting so burnt with the first game. Did it reuse a lot of assets from the first? As much as FFX-2 did?

So I finally got around to watching Cowboy Bebop with fairly high expectations obviously. I think I had binge watched up to the double-episode and I thought it was one of the best pieces of television in general I had ever seen. Absolutely stunning. But I thought the second half onwards were pretty eh in comparison, left me a bit sour.
Got a few episodes of Adventure Time left and then it's Avatar time!
Huh. I thought personally that some of Bebop's best episodes were in the later half of the series. Black Dog Serenade, Mushroom Samba, Speak Like a Child, Pierrot le Fou, and Hard Luck Woman, most notably.

There's a panel for that? WTFF.
How in any way does that pertain to comics or even sci-fi?
I don't want to live in this world anymore.
Book signing, not a panel. My bad. Still depressing though, ain't it?

SDCC really needs to get back to it's roots. Tell me again why there's a panel for Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey?

Radiata Stories is not composed by Sakuraba. The bulk of the work was by Noriyuki Iwardre, composer of the Lunar series. Still an absolutely awesome and jazzy OST...and some of Sakuraba's signature tracks make an appearence.
Iwadare is pretty damn awesome in most of his work, too. The original Grandia is still one of my favorite video game OSTs.

Grom Hellscream, actually.

edit: that's adon not sagat. though they do look similar. that skin and the mundo one are clear copies i wonder how they get away with that. not that i care i like it but i'm surprised they can swing it
Same way they got away with Nunu's Sesame Street skin. Same way they got away from the Strider skin for Lee. Same way Dota 2 gets away with copying Lina Inverse from Slayers.
The Lee skin gave me a Sagat vibe because of the bald head. A red on the forums mentioned it had new animations, so I guess we'll see who it's more of a reference to when a video of it pops up.
-
Close enough. Big angry dudes with axes.
-
New skins. Lee Sin as Sagat. Greek Cassiopeia. Fire plant Zyra. Mundo as a Warcraft styled orc.
I'm impressed. Riot's skin team has been knocking them out of the park lately.
I don't think the Xin/Stealth reworks are coming next patch, but they're coming soon.Pretty sure they're in the next patch. I'll have to check that thread again.
-
Dunno if you saw her thread on the LoL forums last week, but she's actually the first champion that was designed personally by Morello. I hope he ends up designing more, she looks hella fun.
Xin's rework, Eve's rework, Twitch's rework, and Zyra, all in one patch? Good work, Riot. Keep this shit up.

Geeeez. The man loves his keyboards, don't he?

I am so sick of Steam doing this crap. I'm scraping for my free time as it is.
Things are going to get really really bad for me if they discount the witcher2. I've been putting that one off for awhile.
I voted for Arkham City to get the discount, if that helps any.

Interesting article someone posted on Facebook:
http://www.shacknews.com/article/74220/origin-boss-steam-sales-cheapen-intellectual-property
TL;DR - EA and GOG complain that having crazy 50-75%-off sales so often isn't beneficial to companies in the long run because then customers never buy at full price.
Although it should be noted that GOG is finishing up their crazy summer sale as we speak.
Edit: Interesting excerpt from the GOG interview:
I can definitely identify with that first paragraph...

It's been forever since i"ve played it, Kenogu, but is this the theme played when you get a new Einherjar?

LOVE Sakuraba. The man knows how to take a synth and run wild with it.
My favorites:
-
Why does Jarvan use mana? His moves are throwing a flag, sticking out his spear, and jumping really hard onto an enemy.
Why does Miss Fortune use it? Her moves are shooting bullets, shooting poison bullets, shooting a lot of bullets, and shootings a LOT of bullets.
Why does Graves use mana? His moves are shooting bullets, throwing a smoke bomb, moving really fast, and shooting a wide spread of bullets.
Etc, etc.
-
I honestly thought that was common knowledge at this point.

Don't pay attention to Kotaku's shock journalism.
'Project Sora' was a studio founded just for Kid Icarus: Uprising.
'Sora, Ltd' is Sakurai's actual studio, and it's still open.
Two different studios. Kotaku just didn't get their facts straight before posting the article, as usual.

The clip of NiGHTS and Reala is at 2:38.
I'm gonna echo bleck here: this is dumb.
The track and music are nice though!
-
SEGA has a good track record with porting classics. Daytona USA for XBLA/PSN was outstanding.
Was that the one with karaoke mode? Because that was a brilliant addition.
-
What about Brave Fencer Musashi? Some nicer graphics and polish on that and mmmmm.
This this this. And don't give me any of that Samurai Legend Nomura crap.
I'd love if they'd bring up the SaGa 2/Final Fantasy Legend II remake they did on the DS, too, but that's just a crazy dream that'll never happen.
-
Suikoden II. Nanami.
I think anyone that's played the game knows what I'm talking about.

Pft. Square makes too much money off of selling the FF games individually to ever put them in a collection again.
Castlevania Collection would be awesome though.
Awful parts of awesome games *POTENTIAL SPOILERS*

Duodecim for me was ruined by having to play as the new characters in a set order in the story mode. I liked it better in the first game when you could do them in the order you wanted, that way I could save the characters I didn't like or enjoy playing as for last.
But making me play as Lightning for the tutorial and first chapter, Vaan for the second , then Laguna for the third? I don't think my interest in a game has ever been killed off as quickly as Duodecim did.
