  1. The People's Remix Competition 217 PRCv9-09 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Last round wasn't the round with the most participation ever. Chickenwarlord saved PRC once again and selected the source. This round's source is selected by Chickenwarlord: This next tune is from a pretty classic RTS which has surprisingly little remix coverage on OC despite lots of clear melodies to choose from. The track I have selected is probably the second most well known. on the soundtrack. While technically labeled as 'Orc 2', this piece has become known by my tagging system as 'Ogre March'. Have fun! Warcraft 2 - Orc 2 (Ogre March) Midi: http://www.midishrine.com/ostepop/mpc/Warcraft_2/horde2.mid Source: Warcraft II (PC) - Orc 2 (Ogre March) MID Wikipedia ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. When you are not able to login, don't click on the 'click here to submit an entry' button, but click on the 'you are not logged in' button on the right top of the screen. Perhaps using Firefox or Google Chrome works as well. GOOD LUCK! PRC instructions Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6 MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed (only as Bonus Mixes). Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by MONDAY APRIL 30th 2012 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time: check my signature (below) or the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can post it in the thread if that doesn't work. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of last round can take part by submitting a bonus mix, but he cannot win the round and get any votes. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.
  2. And the winner of PRC216 is Chickenwarlord!! Congratulations Chickenwarlord. Because you are the only entrant, you are the only winner of this round. Voting stage is still open, everyone is free to leave comments here or at ThaSauce. When I receive the source, voting will be closed immediatly, comments can be written in this thread as well. Chickenwarlord, you may select a source for PRC217. Send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above).
  3. ThaSauce is down at the moment, when anyone has problems just upload the song somewhere else and post a working link in this thread. Let's hope everything works again before the deadline/voting. I already received one track by Chickenwarlord (@ ThaSauce when it was working). EDIT: Via my signature I was able to visit the ThaSauce page, so you might want to try that if problems occur.
  4. 5 Hours left and still no entries. Maybe one extra day helps; extended with one day.
  5. The People's Remix Competition 216 PRCv9-08 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Last round JerryTerry entered with a track which had the longest length since a while. Because it was a very good song too, it won by unanimous decision. Darren Schwinghamer wasn't able to stop him, but he can look back on a good PRC debut with a nice track and a nice second place. Chickenwarlord did the promotion song for the April Fools joke VocalClockedRemix, and claimed the originality price and the last place wooden spoon. This round's source is selected by JerryTerry: My choice for this round of the PRC is Library from Monkey Hero on the PS1. The game was little-known, and the soundtrack was underrated - plus I'm in the middle of doing a piano arrangement of the track, so it was the first BGM that came to mind. Understandably I couldn't find a midi of this track anywhere, so I spent the last few hours sequencing my own midi by ear from YouTube, and uploaded it to VGMusic. Midi backup: http://www.vgmusic.com/new-files/Library-v1_1.mid (Note that it seems to play much slower in the browser. And though it may sound like it's just repeating at the halfway point, a new part comes in toward the end) Source: Monkey Hero (PS1) - Library MID Wikipedia ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. 6. It's results time. The votes are in. Total number of mixes - 3 Total number of votes - 7 Maximum Score - 24. Chickenwarlord did a funny vocal song, but not enough to win. He gets the the last place wooden spoon. with 12 points. Darren Schwinghamer start well with a nice number of 18 points and the second place. And the winner is JerryTerry with the maximum 24 points. Congratulations JerryTerry, you are chosen as winner by every voter. The difference between #1 and #2 is equal to the difference between #2 and #3 and is maximal. JerryTerry, you may select the next source for PRC216. Send your source to me by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Do that as soon as you can, but before Friday. Remember to select a source with a MID file added. 7. The extention worked very well. Great work. Welcome to the voting stage The mixing stage is over. 3 entries are submitted. They aren't allowed to vote for themselve, but they receive an added first place if they vote. They must leave the third box empty. Zerothemaster has a vote that counts twice. You have until NEXT Wednesday, April 4th at 10:59 am ThaSauce time to vote, check my signature in the first post or simply the ThaSauce page for the exact time you have. The winner gets the right to choose the source tune for PRC216. 8. Any genre is fine, there aren't many limitations for this contest. You must use the source, but you are free to use only a small part of it, like Zerothemaster said. The only thing what's not allowed is to make a MIDI-rip (take the MID, change a few instruments and don't do anything else with it). You are free to let Zerothemaster listen to your song. You can also submit the song in the Post Your Games Remixes forum at the Workshop section: http://ocremix.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16 Leaving comments on songs is always accepted, as long as they are not posted in this thread. Good luck with your song.
  9. The People's Remix Competition 215 PRCv9-07 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Sir Nuts selected the source for last round and picked Stage 7 Theme from Castlevania 3. Before the first deadline only one song entered, but after an extention three songs where up. The winner was the one who submitted first: Zerothemaster. This round's source is selected by Zerothemaster: I love Phoenix Wright. He's the best. So here are two Phoenix Wright tunes! I wanted to do "Reminiscence ~ DL6 Case" from the original, but couldn't locate a midi, and since you said "You may also select a source without a MID, but then you must provide a second source with a MID file", I'll do that and include "Police Cell ~ Jailers' Elegy" as well. =D Midi: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/ds/detention.mid ~Zero So this round has two sources (both from Phoenix Wright). The first one doesn't have a MID, the second does have a MID file. It's your own choice to select which track you use. Remixing the first or remixing both songs in one song is encouraged but not neccesary. The game has already 6 mixes at OC Remix, but none of these 2 sources are already covered. Source 1: Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney (DS) - Reminiscence ~ DL6 Case Source 2: Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney (DS) - Police Cell ~ Jailers' Elegy MID SOURCE 2 Wikipedia ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. Yami put a nice song together, but he gets the the last place wooden spoon. with 14 points. Chroxic received 18 points, enough to get the second place. And the winner is Zerothemaster with 22 points. Congratulations Zerothemaster, you are the winner. The difference between #1 and #2 is equal to the difference between #2 and #3. Zerothemaster, you may select the next source for PRC215. 12. Didn't realize voting already started, it is one hour earlier as expected, probably everything is fixed next PRC, because in my country the time changes this weekend (one hour less weekend). I believe in the ThaSauce time zone the time change already happened past weekend. I decided to extend the deadline with one day (25 hours, so you have 24 hours left at this moment). Maybe someone find the guts to challenge Zerothemaster's awesomeness.
  13. The People's Remix Competition 214 PRCv9-06 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Last round Battlefield 3 - Main Theme was chosen by PRC212 winner Sggod89. Sir Nuts and DusK remixed the source both on a different way, Sir Nuts claimed victory and submitted his source for this round very quick.. This round's source is selected by Sir Nuts: My pick for the next PRC is the Stage 7 theme from Castlevania 3 which, amazingly has no remixes on OCRemix. I know that Goat remixed this one for his album, but there are actually no remixes of it at OCR which is mind-boggling as it's such an awesome song. 16. The People's Remix Competition 213 PRCv9-05 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Last round only one song was posted before the deadline. Probably one of the reasons are the different deadlines and the fact that I forgot to edit the first line of the round . Sggod89 did make a remix, and won the round by default. This round's source is selected by Sggod89: For the next source, I chose the epic main theme from Battlefield 3! Even if you're not into amazing FPS's, the music has an amazing level of excitement. /Ira Source: Battlefield 3 (PC) - Main Theme MID Wikipedia I hardly believed that this song hasn't been covered before, but that didn't happen. 20. The People's Remix Competition 211 PRCv9-03 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! PRC211 was another good round with four songs, which ended relatively close to each other; the difference between the debutating winner Hakstock and numbers three and four Evktalo and JerryTerry was only five points. But even one point difference is enough, so Hakstock selected the source for this round (and did that very fast). This round's source is selected by Hakstock: Hello there, here's my source pick for the next PRC. It's the "Badlands" theme from Digimon World 3, a game with one of my favorite soundtracks. When there are not more as one song submitted, the contest will be extended of course, with one or two days. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.
