that depends on the hard drive formatting. maybe 64-bit handles fat32 differently, which is what i'm assuming your external hd is formatted as.

maybe it's blocking the specific ports that IRC uses? i'd suggest checking into it through IRC's bug reporting system. i'm sure others have had the same problem.

update: i've been getting wips from Sound Test, and they're really cool - quite progressive in style. not progressive like all you crappy house fans, but progressive as in 20th-century composition compared to 19th century. really experimental stuff, some really interesting ideas that didn't pan out and some that did. haven't heard much else, lately. come on! please post any updates - no mp3s, send those to me - so i know where people are at.

50 OFF, mind you. different websites generally have it on sale for 30 or 40 off, and it's almost always free shipping which saves another 15-20. you can find it for 180$ usually, and it's TOTALLY worth the money. works well for general use and gaming, it's got nice color but not the best blacks. but it's half the cost of any other monitor out there with the same real estate. and it's really close to being the same vertical size as my 17" square, which is handy because there's not a distortion effect between the two.

i live in a college town (cornell and ithaca college are here, about 35k students between them) and the atmosphere was definitely different than it would have been back home in buffalo. i kinda liked it. and, YES, comedian was excellent. his attitude, all the different shots of him at different ages...absolutely excellent.

who got the demo? i thought it was a pretty interesting look into what the game could be. melee combat is pretty refined. the menus drove me insane, though. i'm looking forward to the full version of the game.

may i suggest the acer 22" widescreen monitor? you'll have to get custom drivers to run widescreen off of a laptop, but it's under 200$ usually somewhere and it's a solid buy.
