  1. I'm a little confused because I can hear some of them but not others. @_@

Tones I can hear (in my right ear atleast, I don't think I can hear more than 8kHz in my left ear, I certainly can't feel any more than that)

    8kHz

    15kHz

    16kHz*

17kHz (this one makes my toes want to curl up it's painful)

    18kHz*

    21kHz*

    22kHz

*unsure if I can hear them or not sometimes I can sometimes I can't?

I don't know how this is possible from being in band (and having to sit infront of those infernal percussionists most of the time) My ears even ring constantly, but I can still pick out up to 22 kHz.

    Oh and I'm 23

Another edit: Oh guys I would caution against cranking up the volume to try to hear these if you're not sure you can. Because even if you can't perceive the sound coming out the sound is still there, and it can permanently damage your ears.

  2. To be honest, the chibi-motif they went with this time around completely turned me off. I wasn't crazy about the first game, anyway. Not to say that I didn't like it, because I did, but still. No Okamiden for me. :/

This doesn't really make sense since the original game had of deformed/chibi style even for the adult characters. The new game doesn't really look to have a different style at all, the characters just happen to be children so they're even more deformed than the adults in the original were.

I'll keep my eye on this game but I'm not sure if I'll get it, I quite liked Okami but I've been feeling more scheptical than usual about new games lately.

  3. Hahaha what the fuck. I've never heard of this crotchstain.

This is kinda funny though, not 1 month ago did I have my first real experience with a pathological liar, and it scared the hell out of me. This dude isn't necessarily a pathological liar, maybe just some guy trying to grow his internet dick via vgtunes but it still astounds me how some people's brains can be wired to let them be this dishonest. Maybe some traumatic event broke their moral barometer.

Did anyone report him to newgrounds yet? He isn't out of commission yet as far as I can tell.

I think he's been reported several times by now, because I know I'm not the only person who has reported him.

Maybe the NG people aren't removing him outof spite since you guys are doing something they have asked not be done, going to the comments of the songs and saying they're plagiarized.

You're supposed to send a PM to the mods with the exact username of the offender, the links to the songs being plagiarized, and links to where each is plagiarized from.

Although apparently they like to take their jolly sweet time regardless, it's been almost half a year now hasn't it?

  4. It's like a flight sim...only boring?

I dunno if I was one of those people that collects model trains I wouldn't really find a game for it interesting. I had a model train when I was little and most of the fun was setting up the tracks and putting the train and carts on them, not...whatever it is you do in this game.

Of course as a 4 year old I was probably infinitely more easily amused than I am now.

  5. I'm pretty sure "3 evolutions" refers to 3 bulletpoint innovative 'features' they talk about in the original Japanese article. Not sure of the specifics. If it turns out to be another evolution step, I think it's a bad idea.

More BRANCH evolutions (a la Politoed) plz!

The thing Dunther quoted mentions new monster evolutions.

Although maybe the place he quoted from translated it wrong.

Branch evolutions are useless to me.

    Why?

Because I have to trade for most if not all of them, and often there is some dumb hard to find once only but used for multiple evolutions item included.

Edit: I am a little sad that people are automatically jumping to the conclusion that there will be a good/light type added in some other places. Mainly because white traditionally symbolizes death in Asian culture. So seeing black and white and jumping to the conclusion that it's good/evil it a bit of a stretch to me. (Granted the makers could be influenced by western color association I dunno) *shrug*

  6. In all I find I don't care much for what has been revealed so far, almost all of it is fluff, and I am more interested in crunch. (changes/additions to mechanics and gameplay).

I'm intrigued by the "Evolution 3" thing although I can't speculate on what it is. I can't think of anything that makes sense though. I mean if they had a 4th evolution, why call it Evolution 3 rather than Evolution 4? There's also like 8 ways to evolve pokemon.

Maybe they're considering giving all existing non-legendary pokemon 3 evos? (And so this game won't have many new ones just a bunch of new evos lol). That sounds rather unlikely too, but it seems each generation there are less purely new pokemon added and more new evolutions, so who knows.

  7. At first I wasn't sure if I liked this or not, I guess it's hard to decide because I am so extremely familiar and in love with the Genesis versions of Ecco music (it makes me sad there isn't more on here). So I gave this alot more listens than I usually would to make sure I listen to it fairly (I just love the source that much lol) Either way what I have to say probably won't be very insightful or a good critique but I try for music I love.

    It was very hard at first, the background soundscape for alot of it sounds like it's trying to retain the original atmosphere of the song, which is really jarring with what I guess is the harsher "mangled" chip sound. (the motive that runs through the whole song and is later replaced with a different less intrusive sound). I like all the other chippy synth things other than that one in particular. I raelly like the extra bits to the soundscape you've thrown in, it's my favorite part, probably my bias to the original though so it may not be worth mentioning. -_-;;

I'm a bit on the fence about the snare, I like it in some ways, but other parts (mostly the single hits) seem too loud, that might just be that my ears are overly sensitive though. 5 Years in band playing trumpet you'd think I would have adjusted to the bleeding percussion section sitting right behind me but I guess not.

The song really hit it's stride for me at around the 1-130 mark. I like the little boppy sound in the background that is doing a counterbeat with the snare, and some of the other more subtle sounds that are in there. Once you get past the break down, the chirpy sonar-like sounds.

I think I like this overall, but I won't be able to listen to it constantly because of my oversensitive ears. I think I will still download it atleast though for when I have a hankering for it.

  8. It's a pretty good manga :D

I guess the thing I want to see in the new games is a story that doesn't feel like a series of poorly thought out broken bridges to me. I mean they have always been like that from the first game but it's especially bad in D/P/PT. Maybe I just hate caves I dunno...(repels are not very helpful, I knew someone would suggest I use them as if I don't already).

Ruby/Sapphire actually did a really good job with a balance of story and letting me continue moving around to new and varied locations. Unfortunately for that generation I always had monstrously bad luck with the RNG so I seethe with hatred for it despite the game itself being a fairly good entry into the series.

  9. Luckily the world of Pokemon isn't that brutal...

Pokemon Special wants to have a word with you.

I actually liked the game more when the story was a bit smaller. Not because I dislike story but because they suck at setting the game up for it in such a way that isn't irritating.

I could also do without the giant confusing as hell giant mountain chains full of irritating pokemon that I don't feel like battling. I'm also sick of useless HM's cluttering up my party with moves I don't like to use, or pokemon I don't want to train.

  10. I love how they just threw in the offically-announced ones at the end and didn't even bother to use the same font as the others.

I think someone actually stole a couple of fan dexes from DA and added the new ones at the end because I'm almost certain I've seen the originals and they did not include the Z fox things, nor would they be so sloppy in adding them in like that. (because said fan dexs are part of what looked to be a larger project to make an actual game).

  11. Well, what does? How else do you determine if something is good? You don't say with a straight face "No, man, it was awesome, it really was... I just didn't like it."

    That doesn't make any sense.

Believe it or not it is possible to think something was good and still dislike it.

Have you ever critiqued art or music? There's bound to be musical or artistic styles you will not like, but that does not take away from whether it is good music or art.

  12. so i guess the conclusion to this intense gamer debate would be "to each his own" ;-)

No that would be too easy.

Everyone must instead butt heads forever and ever until the other side relents and agrees.

Bleck does have a good point though, just because someone likes something doesn't make it good. Then again as he said it goes both ways, it doesn't make it a bad game either just cause he thinks it's bad or dislikes it.

So the game is now Schrodinger's hedgehog or something I guess.

  13. My initial play of S3&K (and shining force, vectorman, Sonic CD, and a few other sega games) were all on the PC as well, while I was a sophomore in highschool.

Not a HUGE amount of the music was changed between the console and PC versions,I'm kindof glad for what was though because if I had to go through the circusy level with the original music I might have gone insane.

  14. Blow the whistle on 'im. Literally - just pile that stuff so high that it hits Newgrounds admins.

I think whistle blowing is something you can only do in the flash portal with submissions that are still under judgment. Sending a PM with all information explaining why something is stolen seems to be the only way to have things removed in the audio portal.

  15. yea i got to it a while back on the pc, which is what my fastest time is from.

i am finding it actually harder to play this on the wiimote than on the pc. my sanctuary runs on the wii keeps being around 7 minutes.

randomly, my psp sanctuary run is around the same as my pc run.

Hmm, it might be because the button layout, Diagonal buttons are a bit easier on the hand than horizontal ones don't you think?

Unless the game is [a] Metroid; then above point is false

    And fuck Hell.

Jeeziz, gotta love the whole "lol be totally dependent on random health drops" and how Heavy Press eats away all the health you saved up, and Ballos...

This is going to be a long weekend, I can feel it.

Here's a tip, stop taking damage and you won't have to rely on health drops. :P

I actually played through the whole game without taking the rocket launcher so I have no advice for making it easier on the weapon front. Although yeah, I also relied on the Sword and Spur as well, with a bit of fireball.

  16. Oh cool you got around to visiting hell :D

I've never done a speedrun before, because I suck and it takes me forever to kill stuff...and things, takes a good 10-15 minutes? I wonder if getting it on the wii would make it easier, I have trouble coordinating my fingers between jump/boost and letting go of a charged shot on the keyboard.

  17. Eh, if he can get through the evil cave and acquire the nemesis the first few jumps in hell won't be that bad, well the evil cave seemed alot harder to get through than the first section of hell to me anyway.

I might be the only person to say this but... I hate the nemesis. Maybe it's a huge fail on my part that I can't just can't avoid the energy triangles well enough to keep it effective.
