Using any USB device as a MIDI sequencer

Hi all. To anyone who can shine light on this for me, my deepest thanks. FL Studio along with many other DAW/and the like allow us to use the keyboard and/or mouse as an input device for midi notes. If we can sequence midi notes with the keyboard and mouse, why not any other usb device we can hook up? I know that the code for this is all snug in the programs, but is there a linking prog that would facilitate this concept? Just wondering, if I missed something when searching tirelessly for this idea. Thanks!

Well, if the idea hasn't yet been developed for this particular device, and if it has been it must be underground because this is a widely identifiable, proprietary device, then I'd like to keep the specifics hush hush. But, the keyboards are find and dandy, along with a a few other touch pads and such, but I'm thinking that, if the physical interaction with the input device changed, how that could affect the creative and arranging processes. I think it could bring a lot more "creative accessibility" to the physical side of DAW work and dealing with synths and MIDI. But maybe that is just a crazy idea.
