djpretzel
Dear DJP and judges, I'd like to submit a remix of the Halo opening theme. The title of the track is "Programmed For War". I'm not sure if I need to reiterate this, but my remixer name is Rayagon, and my e-mail is aaron_matteson@hotmail.com. You can find the remix at. If you save the "Programmed For War" link, that should get you the remix. Thanks. -- Aaron Matteson -- Rayagon

Malcos
Nice sounds, although I hear some fruityloopyness. Anyway, this is an good arrangement, not much to say about that really. My only criticism is the mastering - it didn't really fill my speakers, and lacked bass. That said, I'll give this a YES EDIT: Gotta remember to check da webspace thingy next time! Beatdrop
This is really lacking SOMETHING. I mean, I can point out what I think is wrong with it, and maybe that'll help the diagnosis, but whatever. Here goes: The drums are super ultra weak. Not good. Plus, the drum programming isn't very lively to begin with. The distorted filtered lead that comes in later kind of drowns everything out. Some of the earlier synths aren't very fun. Dying for some EQing. Even with my Winamp EQ settings, it sounds kind of muffled. Found myself yawning a bit. That doesn't bode well. On the brighter side, here's what I liked: Nice choir. Probably the nicest sound in the entire remix. Arrangement wasn't too bad, although I can't be certain it's all that different from the original, since when I play Halo, I really don't pay much attention to the music. The ending was pretty... okay. All in all, I think what I'm trying to say is NO
analoq
started out promising. then it didn't go very far. no bass. some clipping here near the end. 2:52 shows how using a choir patch with slow attacks and releases for a quickly moving part doesn't work. doesn't seem like there was a lot of thought put into the instrumentation, like he just imported whatever soundfonts he had that sorta kinda worked. i like the delayed square lead though. but this still needs more attention from the composer, whose name is identical to my own if you only look at the first 9 letters. no

Protricity
Poor drums/ instruments to start this one off. Pretty low qual up until 1:40. It gets more interesting then. However, the synth quality is still sort of grating. Not much of an ending... Put more though into the instrumentation and arrangement, and make better synths . Also, make a good drum progression. This could go somewhere with more patience and effort... NO
Vig
i agree with what prot said. i also think the harmony in the second half of the song leaves much to be desired. most of the second half is a repeating melody line over simple whole-note harmonies. not interesting.
