Mario grab bag

Here are a couple of tracks that I had intended to use in an aborted Mario-themed solo concept album.

"Supar Peggio Bros" (simple piano arrangement of Super Mario Bros.)

"Whistlin' Mix" (Jazzy lounge mix of Super Mario Bros. 2, a.k.a. the take where I couldn't stop laughing)

Left-hand writing of 'Sup Arpeggio Bros (alternate title for you ) is a little loud. Actually, everything seems a little mid-heavy and stiff in terms of velocities. Arrangement is to a great extent source melody + relentless left-hand backing. I felt the ending was the most interpretive part of it, where you transitioned into a version of the level clear jingle quite well. Anyway, mid-heavy, and with some weird reverb thing going on (perhaps the weird part of it is just a result of the frequency balance).

Whistlin' Mix is pretty hilarious. Drums... Not good, but the rest is gold. Get it done with better drums and overall production improvements, and you'll have a track people can't get off their minds. Can't promise that'll actually be a good thing, tho.

The SMB1 tune was fine, but not really original at all. The tune is over-remixed in general since long ago, and it has to be a very groovy and re-arranged remix if I'm gonna like it.

The SMB2 song is a lot better. Pretty funny indeed. I like it, and I don't think the drums are that bad either. They work quite well in this simple tune.
