Geoffrey Taucer Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 http://www.ikmultimedia.com/arc/ Anybody tried this? Does it work? Quote
audio fidelity Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 theoretically yes, but i have never tried so i can't say - but room deficiencies are rampant, even major studios suffer from out of control bass frequencies there's a guy who has freeware out there that does the same thing - but it's not very user friendly and he doesn't care to make it so - heh http://drc-fir.sourceforge.net/ check it out - at best it will give you an idea of what problematic frequencies you have (keep in mind you set the speakers up for one sweetspot (where you listen to your mix), moving around at all changes everything) - but you still need the proper mic for sound measurements to do it right Quote
José the Bronx Rican Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I've been waiting for expert verdicts on this stuff, because I don't always trust my own ears through my headphones and home theater, and all the required time, money and effort on treatment - which I def. do not have - may not guarantee results on my tiny, tiny studio/former-bedroom. po! Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 i thought this was gonna have noise and reverb correction... but it's only EQ/phase... meh Quote
Lunahorum Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 They had this installed on the workstation I messed around with at guitar center. I can't comment as I don't have enough experience. Yes the workstation sounded better than my home workstation, but I can't say that it was due to the ARC (or anything for that matter). Quote

The thing is, "better" isn't necessarily how it should sound. Does it sound more accurate? Quote
prophetik music Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 this'd definitely help in your room. i'm interested in the verdict as well. you might want to post this request somewhere where most people actually buy their stuff rather than just using free stuff available on the web, though. Quote
