If print is dead, why are we still talking about magazines?

/curious

Print isn't dead, but it's dying.

This EGM closure is sad but not surprising. When newspapers that have been around for over one-hundred years shut their doors, it's inevitable that magazines are going to follow.

Despite the vast electronic era, a lot of people are nostalgic - but magazines also have presence and a utility that you can't really beat with an electronic equivalent. You are on the bus, or waiting for a plane? Head to the magazine shop and grab a magazine. You bored at lunch? Take your magazine with you upstairs - you sure as hell aren't going to drag your laptop with you to read some online sources. It's also overall, more economical to get magazines than it would be to buy a PDA and then stock it with paid articles.
