bastian
I've submitted this and resubmitted it twice. I'm getting closer. But before I resub it a third time, I thought I would finally post it here and see if anyone has any suggestions first. The concept behind it is the main theme from Zelda arranged and produced in the style of Enya's "Book of Days" so it would help if you were already familiar with the Zelda and the Enya tracks. Any final feedback would be most appreciated! http://boxstr.com/files/4713614_abyol/bom%20120708.mp3
SplinterOfChaos
I like it, but I can see why it might not've made it. It's experimental and feels more like the background to a movie than a serious song. The background gets a little old. 3 minutes might be a little long for this. It'd be nice if you'd post what didn't make it and what the judges said so we can better serve you, though. Good luck!
bastian
Here's the link to the first version. I don't have any of the other two versions. http://boxstr.com/files/4723212_1yqju/bookofmudora020608b.mp3 Basically the judges felt from the most recent version that the choir of vocals weren't well separated, so I think I rectified that with the current mix. Also that it wasn't percussive or driving enough, so I added an instrument that was missing from the recording. Also that it didn't have enough high end (too much in the low range) so I tried to eq it better to accentuate the high end.
ZealPath
Pretty repetitive, but also very unique. I think you succeeded with making it sound like an Enya song, and the level of production seems pretty high to me throughout. I'd say you have a decent chance aside from the fact that it really sounds like the same song all throughout, not sure how much of a role that will play if any.
