Meteo Xavier
Sega I don't know about, but go look at zophar.net for the rest. Its in the sound utilities section.
suzumebachi
Oh lord, why would anyone want soundfont samples of FM synthesizers? For Genesis/Mega Drive your best bet is to get the VOPM VSTi (which is free). It's not modeled on YM2612 specifically, but it is modeled on YM2151 which is pretty close. It should be able to do the job. If you want to go for like a SNES sound, just use some small, short, 32khz 16-bit samples in any sampler that has gaussian interpolation. Or in a tracker. Or for super authenticity, you can even track your stuff in XM and then use eKid's XMSNES. Looks like XMSNES isn't going to be developed any more though . Maybe there's some alternative out there somewhere...
OverCoat
Looks like XMSNES isn't going to be developed any more though . Maybe there's some alternative out there somewhere... There's not really any group of people interested in turning their .xm files into a .spc. I've done it, but it's more of a stupid novelty thing The actual purpose of XMSNES was to make music for homebrew SNES shit. Also, I love VOPM. FruityLoops also comes with [or came with?] DX10, which you can get to sound Megadrivey if you keep effects out of it.
José the Bronx Rican
Oh lord, why would anyone want soundfont samples of FM synthesizers? Agreed on FM, but we're forgetting the PCM sample channel. VOPM won't help those too lazy to sample off .gym or .vgm playback.
LuketheXjesse
Like Suzumebachi said, I just use VOPM for my FM synth needs.
lazygecko
VOPM seems to have a crashing issue with FLStudio though. At first it will work fine, then after a few weeks it will start crashing, and gradually it will get worse and worse until it's practically unusable. A-RoN
The following link is a bad idea IMO, but if you want the easy way out, download the Genesis soundfont at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-6ulun8epM You'll want to put some effects on it to make your sounds more meaty, and it only has Sonic DPCM samples. But yeah, VOPM is the way to go if you need a VSTi.
