Tex Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1409948/mp3/txai/laser%20ninja%20%28alien%20mix%29.mp3 Original: There are many remixes of this song on KWED, so I tried to give it a different approach. Everything was sequenced by ear. It also references works from certain artists of older periods, which is a habit I have every now and then. Quote
Dafydd Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 10 char Seriously though, this is fun. I think you could use some more (preferably gated) reverb, particularily on the snare. Quote
Tex Posted October 12, 2010 Author Posted October 12, 2010 Well, I used as reference for the snare sound. It didn't have too much reverb either so I decided to follow the example. Quote
E-Bison Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Holy 80s Hell! Where are my acid wash jeans? This is radical! Percussion = awesome groove and simple. All those toms and snares... jesus. Oh and the claps!!!! The 80s fashion claps!!! The only thing that I didn't like was the synth lead choice at 1:04. It doesn't sound very 80s, more like bad digital subtractive synth. Almost nintendo bad, but not quite bad enough. If you pushed an FM synth (Think DX7) there, it would mix well with the more appropriate subtractive stuff you're using now. By 2:00 you have completely won me over. Do you listen to Chromeo or MSTRCRFT? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tPDIiJWVwA (wait for 30 seconds in for the synth break) cool. wow. Quote
