Salluz
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teena_Marie For those who do not know, Mary Christine Brockert, aka Teena Marie or Lady T, died on December 26, 2010 without reason. She was found unresponsive by her daughter. Teena Marie is best known for her collaboration with Rick James during the Motown era. Also, she worked with the Jackson 5, Brenda Holloway and Berry Gordy. RIP. Edit: songs she has done: Fire and Desire (feat. Rick James) - Portuguese Love - Lovergirl - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2ljF-jSUBM

DiGi Valentine
I'm constantly finding new artists around the old skool r&b and rap genre to listen to as this modern stuff is hard to like sometimes. Listening to 'Lovegirl' now, this is something funky, i'm totally digging this kinda tune. I saw the news break when she had died and i didn't know who she was at the time, i got her confused with another artist called Tina Arena. Sad to see another great vocalist pass away. They just don't make them like this any more.
mickomoo
Yeah that was so sudden... I didn't live in her era but I loved old school r&b/soul. Dang, it's really a shame. my favorites: Deja Vu
