noTuX
This is not really a WIP, but I'm not really sure where else to put this. Lately, I've been trying to learn different styles of music and, at the moment, I'm learning dubstep. So, after spending a couple of hours figuring out how to make wobble bass with Sytrus (I know there's more to dubstep than that), I came up with an interesting melody. I decided to slice up the Castle theme from Super Mario Bros, and throw some wobble on it to see how it sounds. I'm still having trouble with the timing, but I'm making some progress I think. The original SMB Castle theme: http://youtu.be/kEVhSNy96SU My short attempt at a dubstep remix: http://www.mediafire.com/?xpf2i1700gejh9g I know its not the most popular genre on this site, but I would appreciate some feedback. I am working on an actual Sonic Colors remix, and I will be blending some elements from dubstep with my on personal style to create something new. The particular mood I will be going for will be similar to my "Song of Ruin pt. 2". Thanks in advance.
Rockos
The slice is a little off timing I think. If you want it to sound epic, Add a high clear lead that show off the bass. It would bring up more soundscape.
DarkSim
Nice start, I agree about the slicing being a little off though (might work better if there was a regular lead-in). Pretty sure you can be a bit more aggressive with that wobble (faster LFO), and give it a bit more width as well for extra impact. Try dropping out the sound completely for a portion at the end of a bar and then resuming on the first beat as well. Then press all the effects buttons at once and voila! Dubstep mix...
