So, since I had a project to do since I signed up, and I was late to sign up anyway , AND I had to split my time into two pieces, I'm probably farther behind than the rest of you guys. Regardless, I'll give you my drafts.

I did a (what I hope to be) synthpop-genre version of Maple Treeway (named Synthpop Tree Chop) and a slower, orchestral version of Mushroom Gorge (currently untitled; if you're awesome you can suggest a title).

Obviously I need to develop further and vary melodies, harmonies, and such as I go on. So, my priority is comments on what I have so far. I'm welcome to any comments, though (such as if you want to comment on how I should progress the piece...etc.)! Looking forward to hear what you think!

Kinda made the reverbs better and some instruments and panning better.

First post updated with a shortened tracklist, since progress isn't being made fast enough. If you think you're on the project, check to make sure you still are. Few people were kicked, but some didn't respond to PMs and had unimportant tracks. Brushfire decided there was too much going on in real life to work on this, and he's dropped it. Additionally, we're now looking for artists, both for cover art and promo art. Anyone interested?

I'm setting a new deadline, July 22nd. You have two weeks to get your WIPs in. In the mean time, anyone who's got any progress at all, It'd be nice if you could show me where' you're at. WIPs should be nearly complete by the deadline. I'll cut a little bit of slack, but two weeks in the summer should be plenty of time for many of you.

The hardest part as of now is formulating the eurobeat brass lead. I should probably just forgo this and work on the part of the mix that actually involves the source (I'm looking at Yoshi Desert).

But I do have a little bit of the opening done, here.

Try this...(I would suggest one of the polysynth presets)

What DAW are you using? I'm only asking to see if you have the same one as I do...for there's an included preset that sounds a lot like the example you gave. Example here.
