Both versions are great I think. Awesome guitar work in both versions.

I have always wanted to do my own version of Molgera, but I'm not sure I'm good enough yet to do it justice. In fact I'm sure I'm not. It's a really great theme!

It's a tricky source. Not to work with, but difficult to do something different with without losing what made the original so cool. I've tried. Apparently, I don't have a version online. Yet.

This, exactly. Awesome, awesome tune... but how do you improve on it, structure-wise? Yeah, I tried too. And the links I posted are very conservative, despite some unique soloing. I love them, though.
