Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition!

Last round wasn't the round with the most participation ever. Chickenwarlord saved PRC once again and selected the source.

This next tune is from a pretty classic RTS which has surprisingly little remix coverage on OC despite lots of clear melodies to choose from. The track I have selected is probably the second most well known. on the soundtrack. While technically labeled as 'Orc 2', this piece has become known by my tagging system as 'Ogre March'. Have fun!

PRC instructions

1. Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6 MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed (only as Bonus Mixes).
   
2. Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by MONDAY APRIL 30th 2012 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time: check my signature (below) or the ThaSauce page for the exact time left.
   
3. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can post it in the thread if that doesn't work.
   
4. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted.
   
5. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score.
   
6. The winner of last round can take part by submitting a bonus mix, but he cannot win the round and get any votes.

Wow, beautiful source. Lots of material to work with, nice melodies, passages, riffs, switching between 6/8 and 4/4 time signatures.. there's a lot you can do with this. Nice pick Chickenwarlord!

I certainly hope that this source garners more than one entry. I figured I'd go for a more well known series in hopes of attracting some more entries.

Pretty cool piece sggod89, I always enjoy hearing your submissions. One crit that I would have is that the mix seems pretty heavy on the low end or lower mids or something, it's somewhat muddy because of that. Not so muddy that I couldn't hear everything, but a little stuffy regardless. But overall a very good combination of synths/guitar textures, good lead work.. nice atmosphere, good balance of aggressive rhythms, atmospheric synth pads and gliding leads.
