halc Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 I must admit I'm not hearing anything from the source linked in this mix. the mix itself was basically just the same couple bars looped with some raps over it, but I'm not hearing any connections. perhaps someone can clear that up, otherwise this one's gotta be a NO for me. That being said, you've got some slick flow here, and the lyrics are pretty fun (what I could make out, I'm terrible at hearing lyrics sometimes). The source (with the correct link now) is definitely apparent, and I like the drums you added to it. Once things get established, however, I'm not hearing any development to the source, and aside from the rapping there's not much going on. I know that's a part of the genre, but I think there's more that can be done in terms of the details to bring this to life. Similarly, at 1:36, your track is really pretty short. Possibly having some breaks between the rapping for interludes or a chorus could give you the time to develop on the source more. The ending is kinda lazy, too, so I'd love to hear more out of that as well. Definitely something I could see being on the site, but it needs some more development. Hope you expand! NO (resubmit)

I really do like what you've got now but it just needs something more to push it over the edge! NO (resub!)
