I don't have too much to say about this remix other than I finally came up with something I'm happy with. I had been trying for a while to get a feel for the source that I love so much in order to do it justice. I wanted to make it feel familiar, yet sound new and fresh. I feel like I ended up somewhere along those lines; it was fun to make regardless. There's elements borrowed from different genres of electronic music, so I hope there are things in it anyone can enjoy.

Oooooh this is sounding really lush, nice intro and I'm loving the soundscape right away and those little synth arps are awesome. The first lead synth at 0:59 is really nice too, could be a touch louder. I'm hearing some nice creativity in the sound choices and gated bits and effects. The beats come off as pretty plain though, simple repeated patterns for a large part of the track. The snare is a bit distant.

The mixing overall is somewhat messy with things bleeding together, especially during the busiest passages such as from 3:01-3:23, there are a lot of instruments playing at the same time, I think the track could benefit from another pass at the eq to clean things up since several sections are busy. There's a bit too much volume in the midrange, I want to say 500-1000ish Hz.

The writing is actually pretty conservative. The arrangement starts to border on repetitive as things pick back up again around 2:47. I'd prefer if the lead (or something) changed at that point just to add sonic variation. There is a little bit of drum variation there which helps, but again this last section needs to be cleared up eq-wise. That midrange synth (playing blocked chords) is too loud and mid-ish and competes too much with the arp you have playing with it. The bass sounds pretty good, so I think if you tame that midrange synth(s), a lot of the issues I hear are going to resolve.

The writing from 1:28-1:58 is a bit stagnant, most likely because the lead synth has no expressiveness and you're playing a lot of long notes.

Also the track needs a proper ending, it seems like you just gave up on ideas at 4:00 and stopped writing! Needs some sort of resolution.

I feel like this is close to passing with just a bit more work. I love the concept and hope you'll spiff it up just a bit for us!

Love how you tease the source tune with your opening ambiance without explicitly jumping into it. Cool textures start things off, though I wasn't a fan of the first synth that came in... that patch just felt plain. Your first lead at :59 was a lot better, I agree with Chimp that it was quiet but you obviously took a lot of time to write an expressive lead line.

When everything kicks into full gear, the mixing is a bit... cacophonous. LOTS of midrange frequencies are getting jumbled together and there's very little clarity in those sections. The dynamic contrast between the lighter sections and those is great, but you need to clean up those passages significantly.

Chimp is right about the ending too, I think there's a lot of potential to wind the track down in a more gradual, interesting way, but you missed that opportunity here.

I'm not totally sure how to feel about this - maybe I'm being too harsh because this is such a frequently-mixed source, and you do have some great ambiance to give this some personality, but the conservativeness of the writing and the generic backing synth patches just don't really catch my interest here. I think with some work you could potentially have something passable on your hands, but there's definitely a lot more room to personalize and give this your own unique flavor, too.

I really dig that intro. Nice opening pad. That synth that comes in at 0:15 playing the arp... its rather plain, which is a bit of an issue with quite a few of the sounds in this track. The track also suffers from some mixing issues where sounds end up clashing due to too much delay on the all the instruments. It makes the track sound washed out. Arrangement feels a little conservative overall. I do dig what you've done here, but I agree with the other joojs, I'm afraid the mixing and sound design need a little bit more TLC, and the arrangement a little more personalisation to make the cut.
