The People's Remix Competition 328
PRCv13-16

Hello everyone and Welcome to the People's Remix Competition!

PRC326 was a special round, resulting in two sources (the winner of PRC325 selected the source for PRC327 and the winners of PRC326 and PRC327 selected a source for this round). Supercoolmike as the winner of the special anime round, Overkillius claimed the win in PRC327.

I choose "Cinderella Cage ~ Kagome-Kagome" as my source. It's one of my favorite tracks from the Touhou series. I was worried about it being too troublesome to make a good remix of on its own, but I know a couple of of great multisource remixes that use this song to good effect, and it just so happens that this next round will have two sources :D

When choosing it, it occoured to me that one of the melodies (the very opening melody in the song) is based on song from a Japanese Children's game called "Kagome Kagome" and might not be an appropriate source by OCR standards; I asked a judge, and, if I understood correctly, he said that the material based on the original Kagome Kagome song doesn't count, but the rest of it is good for OCR standards. So the melody at 0:00 to 0:09 doesn't count towards use of source material. (Though it works great as an ostinato for the other materials)

Sorry about being an entire other compo late to make a decision. since there's gonna be 2 tracks to choose from, I went for something relatively calm and simple so its not daunting for other people to try to mix in both picks. Hopefully this idea works  =)

My pick this time around is a track from Fire Emblem Advance called requiem.

Or go to http://touhoumidi.altervista.org/imperishable-night.html and download the 11th track,  Cinderella Cage ~ Kagome-Kagome.

That should work; I tested it with my computer before I put it into storage.

Reuploaded the file to ThaSauce, I was able to download and play it!!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/9gi6nspoi30420m/storageemulated0utw.android.midsequerexportsCinderella Cage.mid?dl=0 ok I made a basic transcription with my phone. It's just melody and bass with none of the texture or harmony filled in, but hopefully that helps!

What DAW are you using? Is there other software where those midis work for you like Windows Media Player?

Sorry @Overkillius, didn't see your post until I'd pretty much finished my track! Thanks for taking the time to help though :)

Entered a track! It's a bit midi-rippish but I'm just happy to make something!

The deadline is over, this means we have a winner.

Trism congratulations. You may pick the next source. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your source as fast as you can, but before next Friday (12 August), 10:59 AM ThaSauce time.
