Nostalvania
Hi everyone! I'm currently working on a remix of DDD from SM64. I actually played the melody from memory, so it might sound a bit different than the original. It's still unfinished (hence the abrupt ending lol). I didn't do much in terms of mixing, so i guess it will need some work in that regard too. ibeginwiththeendinmind
Sounding really good! Something that I'm hearing would be a little variation in the piano part; maybe some arpeggiation of the chords here and there, or some flourishes or changes in rhythmyc pattern to keep it from getting monotonous. The guitar could also use some compression to even it out, but like you said you're a ways off from mixing stages, so I'm sure you know that already. I really like the breaks at 1:28, etc. and your chord voicings over all; really gives a new flavor to the tune. Yeah, the A section might get a bit repetitive, i'll try to add some more variation, maybe from 1:43 and in the second A (or even earlier). Wiesty
Digging this Markus! I like the reharm on the B section a lot, its a nice contrast from the vamp happening in the A section. Personally I prefer the chord progression from the original for the A section as it sounds a little more calm/mysterious, whereas this conveys a different mood. 100% personal preference however in those regards. I think the guitar could sit back a bit in the mix, and could maybe use some reverb to blend the piano and guitar a little better. Looking forward to hearing more! Nostalvania
Thanks Dylan. I actually used some different chords and a slower tempo for the A section at 2:33, to also have that more calm feel of the original (kinda). GXAPlayer
Even though the awe-inspiring original is haunting, gloomy or ominous. This remix (new version) feels like something I would hear on OC's channel... I like the kinda upbeat and calmer feeling of this remix and completely fits the genre the song is going for. It does need a little tweaking on the mixing because the piano feels slightly mild while the guitar gets the spotlight. (just slightly though) Nostalvania
