I prefer the funk tracks in this OST to the metal inspired ones, this one ranks highly.

 I like your interpretation of it. the part at 2:20 mins roughly( the pitch slides), very nice!

I'd consider tarting up 1:20 mins in a bit. maybe some voice doubling or simulated delay, something.

<waffle>as an aside, i sometimes think, when listening to this track from the OST that you can hear the stylistic shift from Thunder Force 3 to 4.

the Chorus part sounds like it could be from 3, then the rest leading up to it is the new techniques/ style. </waffle>
