Wow, very close. Thank you for the votes. Unlucky analoq, best of luck in the future.

One quick question: I've grasped the fact that I write an original piece for the next competition, but are there any special rules about genres, intrumentation, length etc? And I take it I have to produce a midi?

As far as I remember, you can do any genre you want without specifications, and I assume there are no lenght specifications besides what logically could be too long for a competition like this. Also midi, afaik are recommended but not necessary. But TO is who has the right to say what goes and what not in the rules so yo should try to pm him.

My advice would be to keep it simple. It fits more a timed competition like this.

thanks for getting the resultz out, i am pleased with the comments.

also Xela, you can contribute any original piece as long as it's yours. it doesn't have to be new. like Nuts says, keep it simple. you want to get a good turnout right? then remixability is most important; not too long, distinct melody, flexible harmonics, etc..

Thank you both. I've come up with a 2 minute piece with 2 distinct sections. It's written for solo piano.

I was going to use a nice, realistic VST piano sound and record the midi as audio... but I suppose midi piano will be ok.

I'll be PM'ing my piece to TO tomorrow. Hopefully it'll get some attention. Although I just hope the chords and harmonies aren't too complex... :(
