As far as I remember, you can do any genre you want without specifications, and I assume there are no lenght specifications besides what logically could be too long for a competition like this. Also midi, afaik are recommended but not necessary. But TO is who has the right to say what goes and what not in the rules so yo should try to pm him. My advice would be to keep it simple. Paladin Posted March 7, 2007 Share Posted March 7, 2007 Thank you both. I've come up with a 2 minute piece with 2 distinct sections. It's written for solo piano. I was going to use a nice, realistic VST piano sound and record the midi as audio... but I suppose midi piano will be ok. I'll be PM'ing my piece to TO tomorrow. Hopefully it'll get some attention. But as others have said, you'll get a better turn out if it's a simplistic/easily remixable kind of piece. The MIDI isn't necessary, but it makes it a lot easier to remix.
